Awesome, AWESOME MAKEUP!! 7/8/2009

I had such an unbelievable time getting ready for the most special day of my life. Shara not only was on time to my hotel the day of my wedding, she was early! She was so professional and so happy to be with us. Everyone's makeup came out flawlessly (and her and her asst did 10 women all in all!) The makeup stayed on all night long and I can honestly say I don't think I've ever looked prettier. Her individual lashes are so natural and a work of art. I picked the absolute right person (and after 3 trials, BELIEVE ME, I know..haha). This is one makeup artist whose heart is in the right place, and it shows in the makeup. Two big thumbs up. Pros: Best Wedding Makeup!!! Cons: NOT ONE THING! more

Thank goodness for talent and professionalism! I am getting married April 12th on Long Island.. It's just a couple of months away! I had actually booked a makeup artist that a friend of mine had used at her wedding and each time I called her, had to remind her of everything..She didn't have anything together and never called back. I had a nightmare that this woman wouldn't show. I called Shara 2 weeks ago to talk about what I was going through and she was honestly caring and heard me out. Since I didn't sign a contract, I went for a trial with Shara and she work miracles! I fell in love with the way I looked. Her studio is all mirrored and I could NOT STOP LOOKING at myself! lol..I cancelled on the other whackadoo and hired Shara, who always returns my phone calls within a day, is sweet as pie, and is so talented. I recommend her to any nervous bride. She really understand who you are and what you would like, even if you can't put it into words! I feel like she is a hidden gem...oh, and the other funny thing is that she was literally half of the price of what the other woman was asking for. And she was three times as talented! Incredible makeup!!!!!!!!!!!! 2/7/2009

I have been in my apartment for what seems like the entire winter! My boyfriend and I had an event Thursday night and I just felt like looking amazing. I searched for makeup on this website and came to email Shara. She scheduled me in. I honestly never thought I could look that good. My boyfriend went CRAZY. It was awesome. Having my makeup done made me feel so confident and I was able to speak to anyone at the party and I just had the best time. Makeup really works miracles when done right. I will definitely be returning! Pros: I felt amazing, my boyfriend went nuts! Cons: I wish I could do it myself more

Awesome makeup!! 12/28/2008

I became a bride last Saturday and hired Shara to do my makeup, plus my sister, and three bridesmaides. She came to my hotel in Long Island, where we were getting ready and was on time, so professional, and I am convinced did the BEST job anyone could have done. Plus, I had some pretty difficult to please NYC gals to contend with as my bridesmaides. I am so happy with the way my makeup came out and that was a big concern of mine, being it's my face and the biggest day of my life. As a matter of fact, everyone she touched loved their makeup. She is so talented and so sweet and I am going to do my best to spread the word about her. I wish her much success. Pros: Beautiful job and we couldn't be happier more

Thank goodness for a great makeup lesson 11/13/2008

I am in my mid twenties and still had yet to figure out the first thing about makeup. It wasn't really pushed and explained to me in the past, so my attempts were pretty lousy. I really needed to find a lesson that would show me basics and I did! Shara was a pure pleasure. She never once made me feel stupid and made everything make complete sense. Plus, I felt really comfortable and at home with her, which allowed me to try things without feeling insecure. I am excited for my new look and am hoping that the men of NYC will take notice...haha. more

Amazing makeup 9/26/2008

I was in a jam a few days ago when I had a last minute date with this great guy I met long ago. He was in NYC and I wanted to make an impression. I found great hair people at Arrojo Studios, but then I wanted someone who really knew what they were doing for my makeup. I took a leap of faith and made an appoitment with Shara the day of, and she happily fit me into her schedule. I am so glad she did because I felt amazing and just like myself (just like who I always wanted to be..and my confidence showed through). My date kept on saying that something was different about the person I had become and he liked it ;) Yeah for beauty! Pros: Took me day of and really knew her art more

FANTASTIC 9/20/2008

I?m from the UK, but got married in Central Park NYC in August, we arranged everything to the last detail to be perfect and I wanted my whole wedding experience to be fun, relaxing and no hassle, therefore I spent a loonnnnnggg time looking for the perfect person in NYC, to do my make up. I was very conscious that I didn?t want to be made up to look too unnatural (as I wanted to be ?me? on my wedding day!!!), I don?t usually wear a lot, so I wanted someone who would listen to me but also make me feel at ease. I found her!!! Shara listened to me, understood what I was looking for (with regards to style to match my dress) and made me feel completely comfortable and relaxed in her company. Her studio is gorgeous and she is a beautiful person outside and in!, not snooty at all, very down to earth and really good fun. She helped me make my wedding day as perfect as it was!! From then I knew she was my girl, we kept in touch during the months coming up to ""The day"" and she helped calm nerves and gave me advice to keep my skin clear and fresh. more

I was married this past Saturday in NYC. I was lucky enough to do a google search that led me to Shara and I really believe it was fate. I had both my mother and groom's mother, myself, and my 7 bridesmaides to have makeup. Not only did everyone look stunning walking down the aisle, but Shara successfully followed everyone's personal style, never once repeated looks on any of my girls, and if someone wanted a little more liner or mascara, never once got offended. She was so lovely and everyone loved her, from the older ladies to my bridesmaides. She just has such a stress free way about her and I couldn't be happier with how I looked. She really took her time on me and was so serious about giving me the most beautiful makeup ever. I truly felt like a celebrity going to the Oscars. When I looked in the mirror for the first time, I literally screamed out of excitement! I still can't believe how my makeup turned out! Pros: Amazing makeup, stress free personality more

I live in London and was visiting NYC for my cousin's wedding. I knew I wanted to look amazing, since my family hadn't seen me in 4 years, but didn't know which professionals to use. I found both my hair and makeup artist on citysearch! I felt like you couldn't go wrong with what people were saying about Shara. She was fabulous. Not snooty AT ALL. Very kind, extraordinarily talented, and put me right at ease. I went for the ""smokey neutral look"" and we added a few lashes. I felt ultra glam and my makeup stayed all night long. You wouldn't believe how my family was complimenting me!! I recommend her with the deepest confidence! Pros: Very talented lady!!!! Cons: I'm from London, she lives in NYC. more

Finally..I found my wedding day makeup artist! 8/2/2008

I am not joking when I say I had four bridal trials for my upcoming wedding next November. FOUR! I got recommendations, spoke to everyone about what I wanted, even brought pictures and everyone was pretty oblivious to what I wanted. I was so frustrated! I actually called Shara and explained my situation, but she assured me she would be my last trial and SHE WAS! It was my dream makeup and I am so glad to have not settled for just average. I wish my wedding were tomorrow! I am so happy!!!! Pros: Love my makeup artist for my wedding! more

Perfect wedding makeup!!!!!! 7/22/2008

I never knew makeup could make me feel sooo beautiful. I loved my wedding. It was absolutely the best day of my life, thanks to the amazing people I found to work with me to create my fantasy wedding. I spoke to many people who were really just out to rip me off and it was so out of control. I searched and found Shara through reviews and called her. She was a real person, not a salon that wanted to charge me 1,000 for an hour or something ridiculous. She was there to answer my every question. The day of my trial--I was SOOO excited!!! i wanted my wedding to come much sooner, because I was so happy with the way I looked. She just gave me the perfect combination of natural glowing skin and beautiful polished eyes and lips. My pctures are going to be amazing!!! Pros: Awesome makeup!!!! more

I FINALLY can do a smokey eye! 7/11/2008

I made a lesson to basically learn how to do makeup for when I go out. For years, I would see magazine ads and watch people go out with these amazing, dramatic eyes. I always tried, but looked like I had racoon eye! At my lesson, we went over basics but really zeroed in on trying and working with my eye shape and creating a smokey eye. It's more steps than you think, but definitely tangeable when you know what those steps are. I had my lesson last week and have been practicing every night. I have been getting so many compliments and the men are definitely taking a notice! Pros: Makes makeup easy to do, good value, friendly atmosphere more

So glad I had a lesson 6/30/2008

i am a woman who is really interested in makeup. I don't have a ton of makeup and don't have a ton of money to spend on a school to teach me. I was looking around for a while for some classes to teach me some basics and I found Shara to be the most down to earth and kindest person I spoke to. I booked a lesson with Shara on a Sunday morning. I was excited to see she offered weekend hours. I learned so much, from daytime foundation to nightime smokey eyes. I actually booked another lesson 2 weeks later, so I could practice what I learned and go over it again. I don't think I'll become a ""makeup artist"", but it's going to be really fun to practice my makeup and even do my friend's makeup for parties and things. It was well worth it. My makeup was amazing. 6/18/2008

I have been in the city for over 30 years now and have been to the best of the best when it comes to salons. My makeup artist that I have been using for 10 years was unavailable for an event where I needed to look great. I do my makeup well, but definitely not professionally. I also like the way individual lashes look, and I cannot do them myself. I saw these reviews and booked an appointment. When I went to Shara's studio, I was surprised to see a pretty 20-something open the door. I have had my experiences with makeup artists in their 20s and was hesitant. Let me just say that I believe she did a better job on my face than I have ever had. She did the PERFECT smokey eye and was confident the entire time. She has a keen eye for color and taste, which in my book is very important. Makeup is all about style, and she has obviously had years of experience. She also had a very soft touch and I didnt feel as though I was being poked and proded. It was very relaxing and soothing. I recommend her with no qualms. She is my new makeup artist. Now, I just need to find a way to let my other makeup artist that I am moving on. Pros: Best makeup application, soft soothing touch, great smokey eye and lashes. more

Excellent makeup lesson! 6/9/2008

I recently had a makeup lesson with Shara. I have always been really interested in makeup, but really didn't know the professional way of applying. I always have done my friends makeup for parties and I enjoy doing it, but I wasn't really sure I knew what i was doing. You can say I am a bit of a makeup junkie. I found Shara to be professional and friendly. I really walked out with a much better understanding of different techniques to apply makeup. I liked it so much that I am going back for a second lesson once I practice what I learned. I went on a shopping trip to Sephora with Shara, where she passionately talked about her favorite products and showed me why some products are betterthan others. For the amount of money I spend on makeup I really never use, this was a good option for me. I also liked that she was able to work with me on weekends, as I work all week. Loved my wedding makeup 5/28/2008

I got back my wedding proofs from my wedding and I cannot even believe how I looked. I know it looked like me, but I looked really awesome. My skin looked amazing, and I am so glad I didn't go with airbrush makeup. So many of my friends looked very fake and their pores showed a lot. My skin looked so fresh and natural and my makeup stayed all night. I loved how my eyes looked so big and I am so glad I went with individual lashes. Shara is such a perfectionist and I will treasure these pictures forever. Too bad she didn't come on my honeymoon, I could have used her every night before dinner, but I actually did learn a few things here and there from my trial. I feel really lucky to have met Shara and have her be with me on my wedding day. Great makeup lesson 5/22/2008

I am a makeup junkie and always want to learn more. I love the smokey eye look, expecially, but when I try, I look like I have 2 black eyes. Everytime I go to Sephora, I spent hundreds on makeup, but never really use the colors. A makeup lesson made sense for me, but i tried one once, and it really didn't help. I thought i should try again and after days of reasearching the web, Shara had the most positive responses to her makeup lesson. This girl needs to write a book. She is so patient and didn't talk down to me. I went to Sephora with her and we picked out amazing colors that I actually know how to use. It really is all about the brushes. I never could do my eyeshadow the way the pros do it, and when I do it now, it actually looks polished and good. After spending so much money and useless makeup, it just made sense to book this lesson and I think every makeup junkie should give it a go. Money well spent, and I though her rates were reasonable. Pros: Now I know how to use makeup (especially on my eyes) and I look polished. Cons: I didn't find any more

My daughter was a Glowing Bride! ( I didn't look half bad, either!) 5/13/2008

I wanted to write a review a couple weeks after the dust settled from my daughter's wedding. I got back some proofs from the photographer and saw how gorgeous my daughter, Sarah looked all day. And what stunned me was that she looked gorgeous before her ceremony at 2 PM and then looked unbelievable at 11 PM when she was having a great time on the dance floor. Her makeup was flawless. Not only did Shara do an unbelievably concentrated, focused, and thoughtful job on Sarah, but she did a wonderful job on me, her grandmother, and 5 bridesmaides. She spent the entire morning with us in the sweet where we were getting ready and shared our laughs, while remaining completely in control of the fact that she was there to insure that the bride and everyone looked just amazing. We all got compliments all night. We found Shara online, doing a google search and found these reviews, called for a trial and met her at her studio. We knew we loved her from the first moment she opened the door. Great people should have great success. I rank her as one of the ""greats"". Pros: Bride and party looked amazing all night. Let me start by saying I don't wear make up on a daily basis. As far as I am concerned I think it is too time consuming. I found Shara searching for someone reasonable to do my makeup for my wedding in May. We scheduled a time to do the trial. She is very flexible and affordable. I must admit I was very nervous. The last ""professional"" to put make up on me made me look like Bozo the clown's sister! Shara is very sweet. She take her time to find out what you want and how you want to look and a masterpiece is born! I can't wait to have her do my make up on my wedding day. 5 thumbs up!!!!
