So gorgeous! 9/24/2007

AHHH!! I have found my next indulgence. MAKEUP! I love having it applied professionally! I never knew this until I had to go to this charity function last weekend and I was searching for spa or makeup professionals on citysearch. I found Shara and called after reading the glowing reccomendations. I booked my application. I have really felt like in a little slump. Maybe since summer is over, but having my makeup done made me feel like a woman again. Thankfully, Shara is so reasonable, or I would never be able to go as much as I would like to. It makes as much of a difference as getting your hair blownout. The best was I had my blowout, then my makeup and I just had to go home and slip into my dress! What a perfect night. Pros: Beautiful makeup, reasonably priced Cons: I wish I could learn how to do it on my own more

I had a great experience! 9/17/2007

Now, I am not one to review, but I really felt like I wanted to after my experience with Shara. I was so nervous to have someone I never met do my makeup for my daughter's wedding that I almost just did it myself. The idea of some else having control over my face was really scary for me, I looked all over citysearch and asked my friends who they used. Actually, one of them referred me to Shara and then I saw the add on citysearch, so I went to go give it a try. The reviews were great and I really had nothing to loose. Shara convinced me what type of makeup would look the best on me and I swear I would have never thought I could ever pull it off. She put individual lashes on me and no one knew. People asked what I had done all night, and no one could place it. My makeup stayed on all night (except for my lipgloss like I was warned) and kept on getting compliments all night. Best of all, it did not cost me an arm and leg. I researched some makeup artists online and they charge 10 times what I was charged and I really cannot picture it looking any better. Pros: Great makeup and in my price range. She really showed me personal attention and talked me into some things I would have never considered. It looked wonderful. Cons: I called a week before my party and she was booked for the afternoon, so I got my makeup done in the AM. She books up fast. more

Best makeup ever! 9/13/2007

Shara did such beautiful work for my cousin's wedding. She actually came to the hotel where we were getting ready on the day of the wedding and was with the bridal party until we all went for pictures. She was so pleasant and such an addition to our family's day. She was so sweet that I almost felt like she was part of the family. If talent and good personality can make someone a success, Shara will be a superstar. There was no attitude whatsoever. We all told her exactly what we wanted and she gave some of us the pros and cons of what we asked for, but we all came out smiling. My cousin visited Shara's studio for her trial and she said it was so cute and very clean. She uses the best products and had great recommendations for skincare. It seemed like she really knew what she was doing. She has definitely had her share of training. It was also funny to listen to her celebrity makeup stories and hear who she's done. I will be returning for all my special partied. Pros: No attitude, great service, felt like on of the family Cons: We are going to miss spending time with Shara! more

Thank you Shara! You are so talented. I had my 20th wedding anniversary a few nights ago and the makeup was fabulous! I felt so glamorous and all my friends, family, and dear husband couldn't believe how great I looked. I couldn't have asked for anything more. This Bride is SO HAPPY! 9/10/2007

I actually went to my cousins wedding last year and was amazed at how beautiful everyone is the bridal party looked. Their skin glowed, their eyes popped. They all looked gorgeous. So, for my wedding, I booked Shara for myself and six bridesmaides, plus my mother and my now husband's mother. Every single person who had their makeup done were raving about how beautiful they felt. Their was not one unhappy person. She is so good at making skin look flawless. Having your makeup professionally done makes SUCH a huge difference. I knew I didn't want to be worrying about that on my day. I am literally jumping out of my seat waiting for my pictures. I had a fantasy wedding and I am glad my look was right on. Pros: Shara made my whole party look flawless. I trust her completely. Cons: She books up fast and while I am sure the other artists are good, she is the best. more

Awesome experience! 9/6/2007

I was fully nervous to be made up by someone I never met, but after reading the reviews, I decided to give it a go. I decided to have my makeup done last week because I was going to a party where I wanted to look my best. OK, to be honest, there was a guy I liked and I really wanted to impress him. I work literally all the time, so it's hard for me to take such an interest in my appearance. Anyway, I went to the makeup studio (which I loved-so cute!) and had Shara do my makeup. She was very professional, reasonably priced, and talented, and I am sure she is NYC's next big makeup artist. I just hope she keeps her prices and the quality of work she gives. Oh, and by the way, that guy totally asked me for my number by the end of the party! YEAH!! Pros: Quality of work, Reasonable price, Got a really hot date :) Cons: I'm going to be a makeup junkie! more

A true artist! 9/5/2007

I loved my wedding trial. Shara really took her time and did such a spectacular job - I really did love they way she did my makeup. When I got home, my fiance was awed and kept commenting how gorgeous and natural I looked. When I saw his mom she told me how beautiful I looked, but didn't even realize I had makeup on - she thought that it was so natural looking. She said I looked even more beautful but didn't realize why. I loved that. Pros: I loved it, my fiance loved it, and my future mother and law loved it. Very natural. more

BEST MAKEUP! 9/4/2007

Shara is amazing! I just had my sweet 16 trial! She is beyond words. I brought in a picture of Jessica Biel, because I love how she looks glam all the time, but still natural. I don't like when makeup artists put globs on foundation on me, but I like my eyes to show. She knew exactly what I wanted. Perfect. My mom made a makeup lesson with her next month and I am so excited. She is def going to my makeup for my prom. Pros: Super talented, easy going, natural, glam makeup Cons: NONE! more

I'm SOLD! 8/31/2007

Ok. So, here is the deal. I went all over Manhattan for makeup trials for my wedding. Shara was my 5th trial to be exact! I am not kidding you. The problem was everyone I went to thought they knew it ALL about the way I wanted to look on MY wedding day. I ended up looking like a half alien/half transvestite. NO KIDDING!. I walked into Shara's studio and she seemed different. After my trial was over, I looked in the mirror and I loved my makeup. My mother and fiance loved it too! FINALLY! A makeup artist who actually listens. You know, the funny thing is, she was the least expensive trial and will be the least expensive on my actual wedding day. But, the quality was leaps and bounds better. That goes to show you, you don't always pay for what you get in NYC. Pros: Least expensive, best quality, she listens Cons: absolutely none! more

I love the glamour! 8/30/2007

I just came back from my honeymoom and I am glowing! I cannot wait to see my pictures. I love writing reviews after I love something, so that other people can experience what I got to experience. I met Shara three weeks ago for a trial for my wedding (also I was going to a party that night and thought it would be a good night to try it out). I went to her adorable studio on the upper east and was greeted by Shara. Such a great girl! Anyway, down to business, I sat for my trial and she spent all the time she needed to achieve my dream look. I wanted a soft, natural look but still look like I had makeup up. I suffer from the type of skin that like literally eats your makeup and that was a huge worry for me. Anyway, I loved the way I looked after she was finished. It was definitely more makeup than I am used to, but she told me to see how it looks through the night and we could make any changes the day of my wedding. She was right, the makeup was beautiful and IT ACTUALLY STAYED ON through the night, minus my lipgloss! How amazing is that! I will have my pictures ready soon and I told her she can use it on her website! Who knew, I could model?? Haha! Pros: Thumbs way up more

You made me a believer 8/18/2007

After reading the good reviews, I called and got an appointment. I called two days before I wanted to have my makeup done and thankfully, Shara fit me in. I am a ""difficult"" makeup client. I like what I like and I have some pretty aweful experiences (HELLO Bloomingdale makeup counters ha!) I told Shara I wanted a smokey look and described how I like my makeup put on specifically. A lot of people would get annoyed, but Shara is so relaxed and easy going. She listened, we worked together, and I had a fantastic night! Pros: Very attentive and very skilled artist. MY WIFE LOOKED GORGEOUS! 8/18/2007

My very new wife Taylor said she wanted to write the review, but I wanted to beat her to it. I must say I was very hesitant to see Taylor's makeup on her wedding day. She has always been a natural type of girl, and she is so beautiful with hardly any makeup on. When Taylor told me she wanted to get her makeup done, I was definitely telling her she could do it herself and it would look beautiful. I want to tell you all, Shara is an expert. Taylor looked NATURAL and BEAUTIFUL on our wedding day. She looked like an angel, and while I know she had makeup on, she just looked like Taylor on her most relaxed and rested day. Fantastic job! Shara is a makeup guru! 7/2/2007

I am quite sure that Shara will go down as the next makeup guru. I had a bridal party of 5 girls, plus myself (I was a bride) and my mother to get makeup done! Shara and her staff spent great energy and time on preparing everyone for the big day and I just love Shara's sweetness! She is so so lovely! Some of us got lashes, some airbrushed, but we were all beautiful. I cannot wait to see how good we all look in my pictures! Pros: Thumbs way up! more

I go see Shara every two weeks so she can put on my individual lashes. She is so precise and specific with them. She knows exactly how much I want and where to put them. I recomend her because she is so skilled. Pros: Best lashes Cons: Wish they could last forever more

A little skeptical of having a stranger make my face up, I called and make an appointment for a trial. I love going out for a night on the town, and have a busy social schedule. Makeup artists and Hair stylists are my savior. Good ones, I mean. If they are talented, it makes SUCH a difference. If you look good, you feel good. Not only did I find their service to be completely clean and professional, I looked gorgeous. My lashes stayed on for a week after my service. Also, your price was one of the least expensive. You definitely have a new, very good cient. I will be seeing you a lot more. Pros: Wonderful makeup, felt like a goddess Cons: Can get very busy and sometimes cant get an appt. more

BEST WEDDING DAY MAKEUP! 11/1/2006

I had my makeup done by Shara for my wedding day and she was absolutely fabulous. She treated me like I was so special and listened to my every need. I felt like a princess on my day and my pictures are fantastic! I am SO pleased. She is NYC's newest gem for makeup. I never even knew how much makeup could really do. I wish I could bring her around in my pocket every day. I am very glad we had a trial though. I thought I wanted that really heavy, glam, MAC look for my wedding wih a ton of lashes and I was convinced that natrural pretty makeup was the way to go. We still went for the lashes though! Pros: Very individualized attention Cons: Wish I could look like that every day more
