The service department at Scranton motors is always the worst experience. The service people are rude and don't care if you leave there happy or not. They just dismiss your complaints and don't even try to do anything to make you leave there happy. There's not many dealerships around, but very soon if things go back to how they were before, ?Myself as well as a group of my friends will be open to traveling as far as we can tolerate just to get away from this place. The only saving grace there seems to be to this terrible dealership is a new female, who I believe is a manager. After sitting and waiting for a simple oil change for 2 hours and being late for my appointment and having my entire day already ruined I was extremely upset and voiced my displeasure to the service person i was dealing with. He just kept apologizing with no emotion, trying to ignore what i was saying altogether and not trying to make me happy at all saying ""well things happen there's not much I can do about it"" I said yes there is something you can do about it!! This is ridiculous I am never coming to this dealership ever again! You have no concept of how to treat a customer, and I was over charged and charged for something I never authorized or signed for either! ?All this gentlemen said was ok and continued stapling my paperwork. Again voicing my dissatisfaction with the entire situation a young blonde woman i believe her name was karen who was the only person that appeared to be a manager, overheard how upset i was and stepped in immediately apologizing and took over. She then said something that in all the years I've been there that nobody had ever said. That she values and appreciates my business and does not want me to leave unhappy and wants to do whatever she can to make things right for me!! Oh my god! Finally they got somebody that is an actual manager and knows how to treat customers and fix things! I repeated to her my displeasure with the whole experience and she listened and actually cared. She then said that for my inconvenience and the unpleasant experience that she would take care of my bill. I then asked about the courtesy inspection that I'm told is done at every visit so I can see what the condition of everything is in or if I have anything I need to plan for soon. Seeing the gentlemen I dealt with never went over this supposed courtesy inspection and I never received a copy of it. So she apologized and printed it out for me and went over everything with me and the repairs I would need soon, which I would have never known seeing I wasn't even given this paper or advised on anything! That's dangerous! Again the female manager apologized and assured me that changes will be made and that she is going to do everything in her power to fix things so that I won't have an experience like that again and that she wants me to return to the dealership and to be happy with each and every visit. My god, they finally have somebody there that knows what they are doing and knows how to treat customers, i can't believe it. She even walked me out to my car and opened my door for me!! ?I was going to leave and never come back again and tell the few friends I have that are customers as well to never come back! At the end of my experience my mind was changed and I left happy and will tell my friends ( who haven't had many good experiences either) that things are finally changing for the better and I will be more than happy to return to the dealership as long as she is there! It was a pleasure to deal with her, thank you! more

We drove a Dodge Grand Caravan that had racked up 167K and needed much repair even though it got us from A to B. We decided to look to buy something not new , ofcourse, but newer and with less miles. more

I had a GREAT experience buying my 2011 GMC Sierra at Scranton from Jacob Doolittle. After shopping some of the local Chevy dealerships in the area, I decided to stop into Scranton one day. Expecting the same ""car dealership run around"" I was pleasantly surprised. From the moment I walked in the door, Jacob was ready and willing to listen to my recent experiences, and help me find what I was looking for. There was never a ""We can't do that"" or ""It'll be a few days"", or, ""You know we're losing money on this deal"". I told Jacob what I was looking for and the deal I wanted to make. Not only did they meet my expectations, but they were exceeded! If you are looking for a low pressure, friendly car buying experience, Jacob is your guy and Scranton is your place! more

Great Buying Experience 6/18/2011

I had a great experience at Scranton Motors while purchasing an '05 XlR in February of 2011. I found it to be a pleasant experience. David Baeza, the salesman, was courteous, not pushy and very respectful. I am almost 70, a very picky car guy, and have bought a lot of cars. I asked if they had an XLR trained tech and could I speak to him. David Pleasant came to the showroom and spent the time to answer any and all of my questions. He also was courteous and polite. Six weeks later I went in for service and, as most know, sometimes you would rather have your teeth drilled. This was not the case at all. It was probably the best service experience I have had and I think it was because the service advisors, Tony and George, again made this a hassle free experience. I also met Matt, the new car manager, and Sam, the used car manager, who helped with the trade in of my '93 Allante. There was a problem at the RIDMV. Skip and Kathy got it resolved, again doing whatever it takes for the customer. I traveled 50 miles to buy and have service done at Scranton because of the way I am treated. It is refreshing to do business with a company that puts the customer first on a personal level. more

Best Automotive Experience Ever!!! 5/11/2011

My husband and I have bought many different vehicles. From BMW to Audi to Ford. Never ever have we been treated this good. We purchased our Yukon XL Denali here and we felt like we were part of the family. The service department has gone above and beyond our expectations. Scranton Motors has risen the bar to what we expect when we buy a car. This is why we will never go anywhere else because we are not confident that another dealer will ever meet those expectations. Thank you Scranton Motors and we will be in the next year to buy a Cadillac CTS for my husband!! more

Very Happy!! 5/6/2011

I purchased my first car at Scranton Motors. I was very pleased with the service I received the day I bought my car and also up until this day (2 yrs later). The sales and service department were very accommodating and were always quick to get me in for an apointment. They provided loaner vehicles for me while my car was in the shop and also washed it before I picked it up. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I will definitely purchase my next car at Scranton Motors. more

Making my first car purchase was not something I took lightly. I was not certain what I wanted, but knew what I could afford. I called several dealerships to get information about new and used cars of a wide variety of brands and the folks at Scranton went above and beyond to educate me as a first time buyer without being too pushy or trying to oversell me. more

I've had a long relationship with the Scranton dealership and they have always exceeded my expectations. The zero pressure sales experience is extremely refreshing and the follow up service has been exceptional. They have always gone above and beyond to make me feel like a truly valued customer. I moved out of state for work a few years ago and had to sell one of my cars and ship the other to Florida. Because I had bought cars from them in the past, they bought one car from me and shipped the other for half the price I was quoted at other shippers.. all without trying to sell me anything, just because I had been a past customer! I guarantee you will not find that level of service at any other car dealership and I highly reccomend Scranton Motors to anyone looking for a new or used car! more

Happy car purchase 4/28/2011

I didn't want to go to this dealership at first, I figured a Cadillac dealer would just laugh me right out of the building, but a friend of mine told me there was a Lady there who approves loans right on the spot and helped him a great deal. So I made my dad come with me and we went down to see Val, the one who is incharge of the loans. She approved me in about 5 minutes and told me what I needed to be able to pick up my car later today. I am sooooooo happy that I did not have to have my dad co-sign for me. THANK YOU Val!!!! AND Thank you Scranton Motors. more

""I would like to express my appreciation for the efforts, great communication, and Tony from Service Dept. (Scranton GMC-Vernon) had with working with an aftermarket warranty company on my '04 Denali. Tony has won my trust and faith that Scranton GMC stands behind their word and goes beyond the regular standards of customer service! I would also like to strongly encourage others to purchase a FACTORY WARRANTY for their vehicle rather than the aftermarket warranty because of all the troubles I had with the aftermarket warranty adjuster denying a claim telling me I should've had it serviced which in actuality GMC service recommendations did not require it to be serviced (transfer case). Thanks again to Tony who urged the warranty company that they were mistaken about the service requirements which eventually resulted with the warranty company fixing it. After having such a great experience with Tony at Scranton Motors, Vernon my next vehicle will be purchased through Scranton Motors, Vernon. looking for service elsewhere 10/28/2010

would not recommend service dept at all. very condescending. made me feel like i had never popped a hood in my life. granted i am by no means a mechanic almost seemed like i was wasting their time when i was asking about repairs. sorry, but when i pay as much money as they charge, i tend to want to see the work. they didnt refuse, but the attitude was enough where i will never go back. more

worst dealership i have ever encountered 8/29/2010

i spent five months combing listings for a specific vehicle (avalanche) and had even contacted a dealer i found on ebay in st. louis. i had a certain price in mind and a mileage range and admittedly, was probably a little more rigid than need be. regardless i found my target truck low and behold only a town over after someone had traded it in. i went over to take a look the day i found it online. that is where my enthusiasm ended. i had not spent more that two minutes looking at the truck when i was approached. fine, whatever, its a car dealership, thats how it goes. the salesman started out strong immediately with comments on how nice it was, and before he HAD EVEN ASKED MY NAME OR TOLD ME HIS asked me how much i was looking to spend. of course this ruffled me a bit so i asked for a few minutes to look it over, to which he replied ""COME GET ME WHEN YOURE READY TO TEST DRIVE"" and walked away. i honestly did not have to since he came back 5mins later. at this point i was willing to put up with this crap since i had been looking for so long and in my heart i wanted the truck bad enough, so i took the test drive. HE HAD YET TO ASK ME MY NAME. i suppose he knew it from the license, but thats kind of not the point. the test drive went as can be expected however, was pressured (again, dealer i guess) and when we got back i told him i was interested. we managed to get within a grand of each other, but i will say this. i walked away from the truck completely when i was told i was BEING CHEAP AND JUST BUY IT. that is word for word. i HIGHLY recommend steering clear of this dealership (btw, i did find my avalanche, and paid 600 less for the same exact year, only 2k more miles) more
