A wonderful place with wonderful and compassionate people. I took my snoogum to have his annual checkup and the people there were so nice.

We have been using Sandy Hill Animal Clinic for approx 15 years now. We have lost 4 animals to old age & cancer; each time Dr Anast sent us out w/no payment due. I realize other vet's do not do this. What a relief to the owners at that moment. We have always received the best of care & respect from the entire staff. We just adopted 2 kittens & hope Dr Anast will be practicing throughout their lives. We love Sandy Hill Animal Clinic!! Thanks to everyone there. more

I had a wonderful 8 yr old puppy named Lady. She had started to not feel good so I took her to Dr. Anast. He took xrays and came back to me with 3 options. In the end there was only one option. She had 2 massive growths inside and one on her side. Dr. Anast guided me through her transition with great care and kindness. Through my grief I made a request of paying a portion of the bill right away and the rest soon. He told me there was no bill. He waved the visit, xrays, and the final process,, including cremation and spreading her ashes at the pet cemetery. I will forever be grateful for the care and kindness he showed us in a time of need. God bless Dr. Anast and his staff. more

Sandy Hill Animal Clinic is by far one of the most wonderful animal clinics i have ever used. I moved here from Texas and had been to a few different ones being over charged on every occasion. Was referred to Dr. Anast and fell in puppy love, so to speak. Being a dog owner for now 16 years, I have dealt with various vets and he is by far the most compassionate, actually cares of his patients, and their respective families, and takes time to explain things. The person below that says ""Die Dr. Anast"" is obviously a horses ass that just doesn't deserve a good vet. This place is top notch and their pricing is competitive but on the lower end. more

BEST VET IN TOWN 4/21/2011

Dr. Anast, is the best vet we've had by far. We have been so please with the way he cares for our dogs, and never charges us for things we don't really need. For example, there was an issue where he let us know that we could purchase a prescription, or go to the store and by something that would do the same thing OTC for MUCH less. At the same time he takes the time to carefully check out our dogs, and always offers tips for solving little issues they are having. BEST VET IN TOWN!!! more

the best vet 1/24/2011

For the people who complain of the cost at Sandy Hill, have you been to another vet recently? Sandy Hill truly cares about the animals at their clinic. We have had two of our dogs in there for a few days and both times they made sure the costs were fair and reasonable for the services they provided. George helped my paralyzed cockapoo walk again without surgery when the specialist said nothing else would help. And yes there will be times when they have to say they cannot treat your animal if you owe them money, they are a business and have their own bills to pay, but I truly believe that if you have been making an effort to pay they will help. At one point they treated your animal when you didn't pay or you wouldn't have a balance, right? We have six animals and three of them are seniors so we have spent alot of time there, I have never seen Dr Anast angry or nasty I am sorry some people have had those experiences but it makes me wonder why? What happened to cause it....I can't i more

Love our Vet 12/11/2010

I think Georgie is the BEST Vet in all of Las Vegas, my dad and uncle have known him for 20+ years and he has always cared for our pets with the kindness only a great vet can! Along with his staff they are very caring and great at what they do. 5 Stars more

Cheers to Sandy Hill!! 11/29/2010

Dr. Anast and staff have been caring for our pets for over 15 years, and their compassion and kindness has always been over and beyond. When we lost our beloved Duke, Dr. Anast made sure we had privacy and was able to say goodbye to him. He allowed us to be there when our big guy took his last breaths, and we will be forever grateful to the Dr. and the staff there. We continue to take our animals there, and have sent several friends and family members to Sandy Hill.\r St. Frances is definitely watching over this animal clinic, and it shows in their care for our furry family members!! more

Smokey 11/20/2010

My cat Smokey just died this morning at 5am. The experience of losing your family pet that you love and cherish so much is heartbreaking. He had a scheduled appointment to see Dr. Stevens this morning at 10:30am. His distended stomach had not gone down so she prescribed diuretics to see if that would help. It just basically cleared up the cough he had. She took blood, urine, did a cat scan, xray, and injected him twice with a pain killer and sedative to relax him while being examed. I can't help wondering why no diagnosis resulted after all that. She had related to me that all tests had come out normal, except the cat scan which showed fluid on Smokey's stomach and in the throat which evidentally caused the cough. She was thinking it could be cancer or heart trouble. He was suppose to go back in a couple of weeks for a follow up which I was late in getting back to. I made the appointment Tuesday for him this Sat., and he died Sat. morning. It's a heartbreaking thing to see you more

Best of Vegas for sure 9/25/2010

I adopted a sheltie that began having seizures about 6 months after bringing her home. Normally a very sweet girl, she also started growling and biting when touched. Her eyes would glaze over and then she would snap out of it and act guilty and whimper. I took her to 3 different clinics and every vet blamed it on behavioral issues. I finally went to Sandy Hill after a very bad episode and Dr. Anast diagnosed her based upon the description - pancreatic lymphoma. A blood test confirmed it and some steroids brought her back to normal. None of the other vets even really listened, just blamed her "unknown background." Annabelle's last days were happy and seizure/biting free thanks to Dr. Anast. He and the staff now care for all of our other "children" and we couldn't be more pleased. Our only regret was not finding them sooner. more

Take a look in the mirror please!!! 9/1/2010

Your complaints of greed, lack of compassion, unconcern for pets and their owners is BUNK. Aside from taking care of my pets for decades, I took a lost cocker spaniel there one day, in concern for her health while we put up fliers for this lost pooch. Not only did Dr. Anast give the dog a complete physical, and describe each and every ailment this dog had; he indicated the dog didn't have much time for all that was wrong, including cancer. The dog was very old an near the end of her years. He gave her some meds, notice I said "gave" and advised me that if I didn't find the owner withing several days, that I should take her to a shelter. This poor pooch would have been in for a very rough future of surgeries, etc. if we were to keep her and her quality of life was fading rapidly. I asked for the charges, and he said "$0.00" and wished me luck. I then took her across the way to the groomer and told them the story as I left her there, only to come back and seeing this lovely groomed more

So please, please don't tell me about the compassion at the Sandy Hill Animal Clinic etc. Those of you having a problem with this ... well, it's YOUR problem. Think of 'how much you owed him and not made the effort to pay' or the attitude YOU projected. Then ask yourself about YOUR compassion for the work and hours these Dr. Anast and his staff deal with all day and all week. Giving them a break and some compassion for the people and animals they have to deal with. They have to deal with both lovable and angry animals/people. Where's your soft heart for them? DR. ANAST IS THE GREATEST VET 8/18/2010

I have used Dr. Anast for over a decade. Recently I had BOTH dogs at the vet for different problems. I have never been more thrilled with the outcome of both! Dr. Anast is amazing! He kept the bill down, CARES for the pets and the review that was not the greatest.. .Maybe you are just a B***H. That place has had every pet for 15 years! If you think they are unreasonable.. Think again... Some people just arent a fit with others. Rather than bash an amazing Vet, maybe, take your business to someone else. I think Sandy Hill Animal Clinic gets 5 stars! They are the best in the business! I would not trust my cherished pets to ANYONE else! more

PS You're full of bullshi# 8/16/2010

Hi, I just read the comment from P.S.....I'm not affiliated with this clinic whatsoever....but I HAVE worked in this field for over five years....GREEDY? lol. Compared to some of the bills I've seen for similar treatments....95 TOTAL is a bargain...funny how first PS states the bill was 95, and then states it was the cost of meds alone....if you go on petmeds.com and put in 250 mg twice a day for ten days, yes the total comes to 8.00, HOWEVER this individual did not mention the size of the dog, the dosage, or the amount given....how many vets give free meds? How many of us can say we walk out of a vet clinic paying less than 100? Ear problems mean a vet check, a swab, etc.....it's not JUST 3 minutes.....sorry, I know I sound as if I'm on a rampage....but if you work in this field....then you know better....trust me....95 IS NOT GREED. more

SaandyHill Animal Clinic is by far the BEST!!! 6/21/2010

Dr. Anist at SandyHill has a 100% heart of gold. He has the most amazing care of not only did he provide superior service to 8 animals he also took care of our family by sharing compassion when in need during the past decade. The staff at the clinic has always been the friendliest in town and I have with great pleasure referred friends there that have also had a most wonderful experience. Dr. Anist has a heart for the community and provides the Blind with services for their animals that they could not afford elsewhere! Dr. Anist you are the most Awesome Vet in the world and my two newest babies that have adopted me can't wait to meet you and your amazing staff. ~ Many Smiles and Cheers for SandyHill Animal Clinic ~ more

Dr. Anast is a class act. He truly cares about the animals he treats and does not take advantage of pet owners emotions, when tough decisions need to be made. \r \r Thank you Sir.. more

Nice...but GREEDY!! 4/15/2010

Went to see Dr. Anast today about ear mites...Dr. Anast diagnosed my dogs condition as a yeast infection in her ear, and not mites...which was fine. After a 3 minute examination, he prescribed a medicine called "Gentizol", which was also fine...then I went to pay my bill...it was $95. After leaving, I arrived home and researched the cost of a 15mg tube of Gentizol...$12.95. A 3 minute visit, and the medication for $95 is ridiculous. Dr. Anast is a nice enough person, always shakes my hand and treats my dog with respect...but to charge me that much was, in my humble opinion, definitely being a little too greedy. \r \r When I first brought my dog to him for kennel cough, after I rescued her from Lied, he "donated" a 20 pill bottle of Cephalexin, which I thought was really cool of him...now I know why. After researching the price of that med...I've discovered how cheap it is to purchase...he gave me $10.00 worth. I feel like he performed that nice gesture, to keep buttered up, so I would ha more

one of the last TRUE hero's in medicine 3/30/2010

Dr. Anast currently see's 3 of my close friend's dog's, I have went on several occassions w/ all 3 of my friends and was absolutely impressed with Dr. Anast's professionalism. He also was kind enough to take the time to show me in detail how exactly to depress a dog's anal gland at home, and I did not even have a pet as a patient!! Since then I left Mt. Vista animal hospital and my 3 dog's are now proud patients of Sandy hill animal clinic. Unfortunately Dr. Anast was no longer taking new patients I was greatly dissapointed but still signed up anyway, because if Dr. Anast trust the other Doctor's in his office there is no reason I too should not trust them. more

Thanks for nothing 3/6/2010

Sandy Hill Animal Clinic hates Rotties, after letting staff know that our dog was not socialized much and would like to get him in and out quickly, they put us in a room for about 15 minutes, waiting while their birds were screaming and other dogs were barking, so of course when the door opens ( without a knock or other notification ) an 18 month old Rottie is going to see who's coming in after waiting in a strange place for that long. But in Dr. Anasts eyes he was being aggressive and going to attack! Oh, but he had a muzzle on along with a harness collar and leash, and didn't even bark, just got up to see who it was! The Doctor also thought my wife was laughing at him when he opened the door but that was not the case we were talking when he opened the door she was in the middle of a laugh!!! But he would have none of that. I guess that is why they didn't take payment prior to the shots, because he probably never intended to give the shots to him anyway. Why make the appointment if y more

Dr. Anast is unprofessional 9/5/2009

This Dr. Anast is a piece of Sh** in my eyes. This guy took my dog into his office and had an unusually high estimate. After talking it over with the receptionist she went over the estimate and said this isn't correct let me talk with George. George then came up to the front and started yelling that his service are non negotiable and that he wouldn't fix my little friend. Dr. Anast is a disgrace to professional vets. This guy needs his butt kicked. Cons: Dr. Anast more
