I had the worst 30 dollar breakfast ever at the Salish, and have heard nothing but raves from everyone else. Unlucky, I guess. Pros: beautiful, serene, attentive staff Cons...

WOW 6/16/2005

The spa itself is very nice, but a bit small - especially the ladies locker room. Staff was very nice and professional. I had a Lemongrass Body Elixir there and it my skin was smooth like baby skin. You can use their pool and steam room before or after the treatment, which feels great! Just remember to bring you swimsuit. It's a bit of a drive, but it's worth it for the view - you can't beat the scene of the Snoqualmie Fall, it's absolutely beautiful. Yes it's a bit pricy, but for the service and the view, I'll definately visit again! Pros: Great service, Professional staff, Snoqualmie Fall Cons: A bit pricy, Long drive more

Loved the Dining Room! 4/24/2005

We always come here for the breakfast. If you can make it on a quiet weekday morning, do so. It is a lovely time of the week to be there, because you'll always score a great seat in the 'cab' overlooking Snoqualmie falls. Two for breakfast was ~$57, which to me is worth it for all of the items included. There are plenty of options. Valet parking for visitors of the Dining Room is free. Outside there is a lovely view of the falls with designated path and overlooking point to view the falls. We found the dining experience and lovely view perfect on a quiet weekday morning. The service is amazing, the food is extremely high quality and fresh, and the view is spectacular. It may be a bit of a drive from Seattle, but it is TOTALLY worth it! Pros: Parking, Menu, Staff, Setting, View Cons: Certain items pricey, Busy on weekends more

The Salish Lodge is the BEST place to go for spa treatments of any kind, an romantic overnight stay or an incredible meal. There is no other place that compares. Pros: Quality, Atmosphere, Professionalism more

Absolutely Amazing 2/23/2005

I stayed at the Salish this past weekend with my boyfriend who is in the military. I thought it would be a relaxing retreat for him for the weekend--and my expectations were greatly exceeded. When we arrived, we received a free upgrade to a suite over looking the water fall. The room was very cozy and comfortable with amazing views. It was stocked with wood for the in-room fire place. Also, this was my favorite part, the view from the shower/jacuzzi tub was breathtaking. You could see the waterfall from the window without losing any privacy. The staff was gracious and helpful. Valet is included if you are staying at the hotel. The spa was very nice and the massage was okay. The Dining Room Resturant was delicious, yet expensive, but well worth it and the service was very good as well. I highly recommend the Salish. Pros: Great Service, Delicious Food, Unbelievable views Cons: None more

Avoid the restaurant! 12/23/2004

We have been to eat here twice hoping for a special place to go. It was not what we expected. The staff is in need of training and the food is horrible & over-priced. We had to wait over an hour each time for our food and then it arrived cold. Go and see the falls but eat somewhere else. Pros: nice scenery Cons: , food, prices more

Escape to the Spa 7/27/2004

Try going off-season, when there are less patrons at the Spa. Then, I was able to have the entire pool/sauna/steam area to myself... such a fresh and relaxing treat with a great view! I went to the Salish Spa just for a 60 minute massage, and ended up spending about 3 hours soaking up their facilities. Pros: Far from the city Cons: , Far from the city more

Disappointment 4/20/2004

Salish Lodge sits in one of the areas finest settings. It would seem to be the perfect place to relax and have a quality massage. Despite the fine handwork and hot stone work done there, the experience lack the comfort and warmth of the environment. The front desk reception is cold and lacks care in welcoming you into the environment. People are often left standing in the entry (up to 20 minutes to pay or past your check in time) and local guests are allowed to track back and forth making the experience less than relaxing. Rating: Environment = Excellent, Massage = Very Good, Service = TIME WASTE and STRESSFUL = Why pay all that money to get a headache before and after leisure???? Pros: Beautiful Setting, Luxary Spa, Great Hot Stone Cons: , Long Check out, Rude Reception more

Week end respite! 3/10/2004

Spending Friday night at the spa, relaxing in the pools, taking a steam and sauna.... is the perfect end to a busy week. It's not necessary to get a treatment to enjoy the spa facilities, but it adds to the evening. My husband and I love spending a quiet night relaxing at Salish! Pros: Eucalyptus Steam, Spa Pools, Ambiance/Location Cons: Cost more

Salish Lodge Massage 2/27/2004

I visited Salish Lodge in November. My fiance purchased a spa package which included breakfast, and two 50 minute massages. I decided to do the river rock massage, and it was HORRIBLE! I work at an athletic club, and recieve massages regularly from our therapists, so I feel confident that I know what one should entail. When asked to close the blinds because of the blinding light, the therapist replied with, you'll have a towel over your face anyways. The stones were not hot, the pressure was not deep, and for $99 for a 50 minute massage it was quite disappointing. The lodge was beautiful though, and I thought the breakfast was pretty good. more

Fantastic experience 1/2/2004

My husband surprised me with a stay at Salish lodge for our first annivesary. Everything was just beautiful at the lodge, from the hot rock massages to the fabulous dinner & wine and the huge breakfast the next day! Dinner was really world class. I might go as far to say that it was better than herbfarm. And since it was christmas eve they even had carolers singing at the tables. A truly magical atmosphere! Breakfast was mediocre but we didn't care! The room was beatiful with a view of the falls. Enjoyed the fireplace and jacuzzi very much! Staff is attentive and courteous. I do agree that it's expensive but I think we have just started a new tradition for us!! Pros: Dinner menu, Service Cons: expensive more

Salish Lodge & Spa 8/9/2003

Drinks in "The Attic" are a great way to start off your stay at the Salish Lodge. Follow up by having a stone massage! And the views are gorgeous. I would stay here again anytime! Pros: not far from Seattle, views, massages Cons: expensive more

dinning at the lodge 5/19/2003

While the lodge itself deserves a rating of 7 in the overall. I would give the resturant a big fat 0. This Chef is stuck on one flavor of sauce. Everything is drench in one kind of sauce or another. No natural flavors come through. When ordering Lobster, be prepared. The menu reads, Main Lobster. You get a claw, no tail just a small claw. How tacky, especially at the prices they charge. Out of four corses we finished no more then two bites of each. We eat at fine resturants all the time and were very very dissapointed with the lodges food. We would not only not recomend the lodge for dinning. but will make sure all of our friends and aquaintences know of our distaste. It was that bad! more

Great 3/23/2003

My husband and I recently visited Salish for the first time and found our dining experience to be very pleasant. The prices are steep, but we saved money by eating vegetarian meals and not ordering wine (prepare yourself to pay through the nose if you want meat and alcohol). We loved our meals, the view (it's difficult to actually see the falls, but the mist rising out of the valley was plenty romantic), and most of all our dessert . . . beignets and the best hot chocolate you will ever taste in your life, made right at your table! We enjoyed our breakfast the next day as well. Pros: good food, amazing dessert, expensive Cons: slow service, good atmosphere more

Not Impressed; especially at this price! 3/18/2003

Judging from the restaurant (the only place you can review the restaurant is here), the Salish must be riding on an ancient reputation for excellence that is sadly gone even though the premium pricing has remained. At brunch, I ordered the steak medium rare, and it came thoroughly well done, with crispy burnt edges. The waiter never even checked to ask how our meals were, so there was no use trying to send it back. We waited hungrily forever for our meal, and they didn't even offer bread until the food arrived. I checked out the rooms; for $409 per night, you get a cool spa bathtub and a fireplace with a single log, but there's no other "warmth" to the rooms because of the stark decor. The views are of the river and a power plant, not of the falls! A bit over-priced for that. Pros: near the scenic falls, fireplace/spa tub 4-2 Cons: overpriced, poor service, no views of the falls more

Fairytale Stay 3/7/2003

husband and I went there for our wedding night and go back for our anniversary every year. It is amazingly romantic and cozy. The goose down bed, comforter and pillows make for a bed fit for royalty. The room decor is very tasteful, nothing is overdone. The sunken Jacuzzi tub is a romantic adventure unto its self. Order room service! The food comes to you delicious and you can stay in your pjs! But the Attic and the Dining room are also not to be missed! The staff is friendly and accommodating. (On my wedding night I forgot my garment bad for my wedding dress so they brought me up one) I would recommend going on an off season and go Sunday through Thursday to get the best service and prices. Pros: immaculate rooms, beautiful atmosphere, Luxerious Simplicty Cons: on the expensive side more

my experience at "Salish Lodge" 2/24/2003

i had the pleasure of spending 3 days and 2 nights there.....it was the most delightful time i have spent anywhere....the service was outstanding (turning down the bed at night, lighting the fire in the fireplace AND the oatmeal cookies and milk...well, need i say more......the beds were like sleeping on a cloud! the bathtub was positioned by french doors so, you could view the t.v. while relaxing in a jacuzzi tub.....the oils and lotions were awesome!!! the gift shop was stunning.....all of the staff went out of their way to please......i would recommend it to anyone needing a quiet getaway...you will go home totally refreshed and renewed...thank you salish!! p.s. i had the pleasure of meeting Joe Namath AND Bill Gates....and extra treat besides all of the other wonderful things...... Pros: fairly priced, beautiful grounds, attentive staff Cons: not "kid" friendly more

Overpriced 2/21/2003

My husband and I just stayed at Salish last weekend for our 6-year anniversary. We stayed just one night, and while we liked the place, especially the smell of wood burning, and liked our room, we really felt it was overpriced. Comparing it to other resorts and spas, the price just didn't match up with our expectations. The whirlpool in our room was nice, as was the fireplace, but the room itself was a bit too small for the $409/night price. I also think it's ridiculous to charge a required $15 resort fee, especially since we did not use any spa services (as my husand had just had surgery and couldn't partake). Additionally, no breakfast was included at all with our stay. So, we purely spent money just to spend a night there and enjoy different surroundings. Pros: hot tubs in room, fireplaces in room Cons: small rooms, no breakfast included, overpriced more

delicious dish 2/9/2003

My boyfriend surprised me with a special pre-valentine's visit to Salish Lodge for their delicious Sunday brunch. As we dined we enjoyed a beautiful view of the falls. It became extremely busy and the service left something to be desired. The waiter forgot to bring pancakes for my boyfriend so when it was mentioned he brought pancakes for both of us. I would love to go there again but I don't know when that will be because I live in LA. Pros: Beatiful View, Easy valet parking, inspired creations Cons: Very busy more
