I had the worst 30 dollar breakfast ever at the Salish, and have heard nothing but raves from everyone else. Unlucky, I guess. Pros: beautiful, serene, attentive staff Cons...

Special Place 7/31/2002

Anyone would feel special if you took them for dinner or brunch here. With such a spectacular backdrop ( the snoqualmie falls), how could you go wrong? If your looking to get more for your dollar - go to the Sunday brunch...just don't eat for 2 or 3 days before you go. more

Very Special 7/29/2002

We went to the Salish Lodge Restaurant for our 50th anniversary. It was exquisite and elegant in every way. We received unsurpassed personal attention from its unbelievable staff and we concur that it justify its fairly high price. Audrey and Frank Brunel Pros: food, presentation, service more

C'est magnifique! 7/20/2002

I am from France and I am visiting the Pacific Northwest. I discovered the Salish Lodge through a local friend who invited me there for the breakfast. I must say I have no English word to qualify the excellence of their food and service. I say: "C'est magnifique!" Pros: excellent breakfast, service, style more

Magical 7/20/2002

The dinner we had was absolutely incredible: the best Chateaubriand and Lobster in the nation. The captain (Troy, thank you) was gracious and professional. As a bonus, we enjoyed a magnificent sunset. Pros: best chateaubriand, awesome service, fantastic view more

For a romantic getaway. . . 7/20/2002

I couldn't have asked for more on my anniversary--the food was spectacular and the service elegant (and unpretentious). I can't wait for my next visit! more

A Find 7/7/2002

Seattle is missing something if they don't venture to this place. What a find. Everything was perfect and can't wait to return to show off my newly discovered 'secret.' Every detail is present from the food to the service to the unique presentation. All created an experience subtle, elegant, yet truly amazing. more

Stay away. Service/food not worth it. 5/30/2002

I entertain Japanese visitors regularly and have followed a routine for the last 3 contingents to drive to the Falls and have breakfast at the lodge. I expect to provide a local, cultural experience. I admit I am slow, but I am not stupid. The food has been consistently bad (in fact the eggs have been cold each visit) and certainly not worth the money nor the drive. Last Friday morning we arrived to find out they messed up my reservation for four at the window. Upon arrival they accommodated us with an inner table saying the windows were taken. We stared at 2 empty tables during our breakfast. Needless to say, I will not return. I recommend Lowell's at Pike's Market or the Pancake Corral in Bellevue for the local cultural experience, quality service, and great food. Pros: View of Falls., Nice setting., Good table service. Cons: Arrogant hosts., Cold average food., Over-rated. more
