A real treat! 2/1/2003

The Spa at Salish is terrific. I have had five diffierent treatments, each with a different practicioner and been blown away each time. The staff is friendly and very skilled. The soaking pools are a real treat before and after your massage. A much nicer environment than any Spa in the city. And only $5 for valet parking! rooms good, room service not so good 1/30/2003

The room views, spa and appointments are fabulous. However, the room service and the service in the dining room for the famed Salish brunch were lacking during my stay. A but over-priced for the offering, but the natural environs will relax, rejuvinate and remind you why you pay top dollar. more

Dinner = Royalty Treatment 1/20/2003

I had the most incredible dinning experience at Salish. Our server, Troy, was the best waiter I have ever encountered. Whatever we wanted, he made happen. We felt like royalty that night. The food was delightful, highly recommend the Monkfish and for dessert, the coffee and doughnuts. The Monkfish tasted like Lobster. Then, a table next to the fireplace set the entire mood. I couldn't have asked for a better Christmas Dinner. Thanks Salish and Troy! On a side note: The brunch was a complete oppisite experience :-( , so go for DINNER!!!!!! Wonderful Anniversary 1/13/2003

My husband and I stayed at Salish for our anniversary in 2002 and had a wonderful experience. The accomodations were charming and the Breakfast served in 4 or 5 courses was to die for! The falls were beautiful and Salish was close enough to Seattle to spend time there during the day and relax at Salish in the evening. Would return and would recommend to anyone considering a trip to the Seattle area. more

Worth the trip! 12/31/2002

We had dinner and spent the night in November 2002 to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The room was awesome and the staff was very accommodating. Rooms included travel-sized Aveda products (shampoo, etc.). Everything about dinner was quite exceptional, but definetely not inexpensive. The package included the famous breakfast. However the service at breakfast the following morning was really awful and slow! Overall, costly but worth it when you want something special. Pros: Cozy, Intimate/Romatic Cons: Expensive, $10valet parking fee more

Don't believe the negative press 12/31/2002

We stayed for an overnight romantic getaway. After all the negative hype here on Citysearch, I was expecting crappy everything. The room was so romantic. The staff was nice (and attended to us only when necessary). Dinner and Breakfast - oh my! Give a round of applause for Chef Mike. What a treat. Everything was so rich, tasty, and elegant. The waitstaff was fabulous! This will certainly become an annual tradition in my house. Pros: Romantic, modern presentation, Chef Mike!! Cons: staff tended to, poor seating layout more

Have stayed numerous time and each time have had a great time. The Jazzcuzzi tub did not function properly one time and was provided a free stay in a very large suite. more

worth every penny 12/11/2002

salish lodge is proof positive of you pay for what you get. it's a swift blow to the wallet but you can't compare the experience to anywhere in town. the service was top notch, the wine steward made our meal perfect with her suggestion. I will return as soon as i refinance my home, haha. Pros: unbeatable service, ultimate in romance, delicous food Cons: $$$, length of drive more

We stayed at the lodge and had dinner and breakfast here. Although it was over 6 months ago, I wanted to convey my dissappointment. The food was ok, yet far from exciting, and I've found much better value considering the price elsewhere. In fact, the fruit cups in the morning actually had some moldy fruit. more

not worth it 12/11/2002

we went to brunch there a couple of weeks back, and the food and service was (surprisingly) terrible. I ordered a steak and eggs with the steak medium rare, and it came burnt on the edges and cooked well done all the way through. The waiter never came back to check on us so sending it back was not an option. We waited for 30 min. for our food, and we didn't even get served bread or anything before our entrees arrived. Then there's the price... gulp. Nothing worse than over-paying for a bad meal. No views of the falls are available from any table, by the way. Eat elsewhere, and visit the falls afterward... or just bring a picnic for a better experience. Cons: no views, bad food, poor service more

Favorite Place 11/29/2002

I disagree that the service is spotty; I've had nothing but perfect service every time (not annoying, not neglectful). The wine staff is great at assisting with choosing from their large selection, without going overboard or pushing anything. The food is great but the menu can be limited. So So 11/26/2002

On a recent visit for brunch, the falls were in fine form doing what it's does best - throwing off sparks of light from the mist and roaring over the rocks with great speed. The food, however, is another matter. We ordered eggs benedict, one of my favorites, and champagne. The champagne was promtly served but was warm(!?) - we were presented with butter and jam but nothing to spread it on (?!) and the eggs benedict were cool, overdone with bland hollandaise. The service was outstanding but the $80 price tag for 2 (inlcuding tax, tip and parking) does not justify the mediocrity of the food. First timer out West! 11/18/2002

My first trip out West, we drove from Michigan the first place we stayed was Salish. I felt like a Royal the way they treated us. The people that work there are so friendly. The wood burning fireplace in your room with all the wood you desire was a plus. This was the first place I had ever stayed where I actually wanted to buy the bedding and take it home. It was more comfortable then my own bed. The room service is a little pricy but worth it. Don't miss the falls and walk all the way down to the bottom. We stayed in April it was a little chilly but still beautiful. I would highly recommed Salish to anyone going to Washington State. This is the place to propose to someone you love. It has a very romantic theme to it. I give this place a 10+++. Pros: Free valet included, Excellent Views, Lots to do Cons: Robes need more sizes, Rooms are expensive, No smoking more

Very Nice! 10/25/2002

I really like this spa! You feel like you are on vacation as soon as you walk through the door. The employees really know what they are doing and are highly skilled. I felt relaxed and pampered the entire time. I think it's worth the drive and really not that far if you live on the eastside. Pros: Expert Services, Relaxing more

The total escape and total experience!! A beautiful drive, a peaceful setting and the most wonderful spa experience ever! All the amenities and staff persons with incredible atmosphere, experience and one truly feels they have escaped to an exotic place.....Highly recommended for a total escape!! more
