Finally went to Salish Lodge after hearing so much about it. Don't get me wrong, this place is definitely worth a try at least once and I can see why some absolutely love it. For me, there were a couple disappointments, and for the price, there are places in Seattle I prefer (no, not the Met). \r

First, and this is just a personal thing, I like servers who are ""real."" I don't like waiters who talk like the pink panther and tell me how ""beautiful"" the dishes are. \r

Second, the ambiance was a little weird. The rooms are broken into small sections, which I suppose are ""intimate,"" but the room was dead silent, even with other diners. I felt like I had to wisper and I could hear every fork clanking. Kind of creepy, but maybe it was just a strange set of quiet couples, who knows. \r

As for the food. The rabbit was really good and my wife's chicken dish was also very tasty. I had a side of wild mushrooms that were extremely salty, but other than that, the food was pretty darn good. If it were not for the price, I would even give this place 4 stars, but for the cost, I can find better. \r

Long story short - if you haven't been, give it a try at least once. Great views of the falls. Be ready to plunk down at least 100 bucks a head.
Pros: Views, Menu
Cons: Snotty servers, price, stuffy ambiance
