I appreciate how happy my dog seems to be when I pick her up. The place is clean and smell good. No cages! When I picked her up John said he had just brushed her. And, she like to put her head on his leg when he watches TV. Real human contact is important as my dog can suffer some separation anxiety. No so at SafeJourney!\r more

Our three small dogs had never been boarded or had visited daycare. We visited SafeJourney prior to leaving our dogs with Craig (owner) an John (business partner) at SafeJourney. We were exceptionally pleased with the care our dogs received and the communication we had while we were out of state for two weeks. When we returned, we found our dogs happy, had not lost weight and were content. This would not have been possible at a caged facility. John was especially helpful and kind in showing our youngest shy dog extra loving attention. These two are a great team. I will board again the SafeJourney without hesitation. The condition of the dogs heath and their behavior was proof positive "" SafeJourney"" provides top notch care.\r more

I first visited your web page and learned that you used no Kennels or cages. My phone conversations with you were polite and informative and I learned that you were very accomodating. I liked John's greeting allowing Gabi to ""smell"" around before meeting her playmates. I think your set up is very efficient. Gabi was very tired so I know she had a good time! Thank you.\r more

Daisy loves SafeJourney. We have brought her to other daycares and boarding, but she is always so excited to come here. This is the only place where everyone understands the dogs - no kennels, just other dogs keeping eavh other in line and in a tight pack. We would never send her anywhere else!\r more

    Serving our local community's need for top of the line crate-free boarding, Safe Journey is the best in the business when it comes to caring for animals, people and the Earth. It's crucial to our vision to be compassionate not just to pets, but to humans and our environment, as well. That's why we operate with social and economic justice and environmental sustainability in mind at all times.


    How it works:


    You make a reservation to bring your dog to us during check-in hours. Your pet spends the day and night at our comfortable Victorian home, with us and other dogs. For your dog's protection, our home is climate-controlled and our yard is pesticide-free. We care for an average of 5 dogs during the week and average of 9 dogs on weekends. During the Holidays we care for 15-19 dogs.


    While in our home, your pet enjoys frequent contact with care providers, petting, play time, and more. We follow all your instructions regarding your pet's feeding, medications and appropriate behavior. Dogs are free to roam 1400 square feet of space. Outdoors they can bask in the sun on our back deck and play in our fully secure and fenced yard.


    We are a family business and incorporate our lives into our work. This means we sometimes have to safely arrange the pets while we run to the post office, to the grocery store and other errands. All dogs need to be family raised dogs that get along great with people and other dogs.
