Amazing food and service. I have been to many little Italy's in Boston, Providence and have never tasting such authetic food. I thought I was having lunch at my grandmothers house...

Worst

This restaurant has good hours and a well-known name but the food is definitely not the best--by far. If you are in Baltimore looking for good Italian food, I think you will be v...

STILL CAN'T BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED! 11/20/2011

Went out to Sabatino's to celebrate girlfriends birthday. We were rushed to our seats and greeted with a scary looking waitress whose opening line was ""do you want anything other than water?"" Before I could even process this further, she was gone. Upon her return, we were pressured into our order, where our first choice had better be our only choice. never got her name, not did she ever offer appetizers, instead bread was just thrown on the table. She smelled of smoke. When one of the people in our group took her time ordering and asked a question, the waitress rolled her eyes because we were on ""her"" time. At this time my girlfriend and her friend went to the restroom. Not even 5 minutes later our food was out - leaving us astonished - the girls were not even back yet. The food was not hot, just luke warm at best - like microwaved Chef BoyArdee minute meals - and tasted jusst the same. Portions were ridiculously small for the over inflated prices. She did bring out a piece of cake for my girlfriend with a slick leave the check move. Again, taking away our option for everyone else to have dessert or extra drinks; not that we would have wanted them anyway. This has to be the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant of any kind. I've waited longer at a Checker's drive- thru and got better food and service! It's a shame this rating makes me give them a star at all. Don't EVER eat here! more

The Worst Restaurant ever!!!! This place is disgusting!! 7/3/2011

This is my experience with Sabatinos, I went out with my wife last night to the harbor then we decided to get a bite. We walked down to little italy and we picked Sabatinos. It was a Saturday at 09:30pm!! We imagined the place would be packed come on it's a Saturday. Actually the place was deserted!! there were like 2 couples inside! We were seated right away. Our waitress was not smiling, she didn't introduce herself, was not smiling at all, wearing dirty clothes and looked very frustrated. We asked for few minutes because we were not ready to order yet so she gave us a mean look. She came back and asked her for their specials for the night (she was supposed to let us know when we were seated), she didn't know about their special!! she had to go back to the kitchen and ask. I asked her about their best seller she didn't know either, she said she's not into seafood. This waitress was not smiling at all!!!! Finally I picked Mussels w/ spaghetti dish & my wife ordered their combination of seafood as appetizer. We got our order after 5 min!! can you believe it?? after 5 mins our food was coming!! My mussels were small like peas!! I have never eaten such small shrunk mussels!! I grew up on the beach and I grew up eating seafood. The pasta was not fully cooked!!! it was not tender at all!! the sauce was watery!! It feels I was eating noodle soup not a mussels dish!! So I tasted it and it was awful, I could not eat it!! I sent it back and ordered same as my wife!! The waitress was not happy when I told her this is not a good dish!! she looked at me weird again. My wife didn't want to start eating until I get my plate too. Anyway, I got their seafood combination of fried calamari, couple shrimps topped w/ melted mozzarella, and couple stuffed clams in shells. The calamari was so tiny not fresh at all!! It's frozen mini calamari maybe was sitting in freezer for 4 months!! it was extremely chewy, greasy, and I felt I was getting sick!! The garlic bread was something else, it was cold maybe left over from 3 days! it was not fresh bread!! I know I wrote too much but I'm so frustrated!! We spent $50 for garbage food!! This is not an italina restaurant!! the place stinks, broken shaky chairs! their food was the worst food I ever had and this was my worst dinning experience. I would not recommend this place for anyone! you will be disgusted if you go there! please save your bucks and always ask friends or read reviews before you try a new restaurant. I will never ever go back there. As soon as we walked out we were wondering how in the hell this place still running ?? I started getting doubts about the kitchen staff if they were clean or not because the place is not!! I never wrote any reviews online but I subscribed today and did it because I want to let other people know about this place. more

Great Dinner 12/29/2010

I had an awesome meal here with my family on Christmas Eve. We were greeted kindly at the front door, our server was really nice and our food was delicious. I had a veal dinner and my husband had pasta. We both really enjoyed our meals and so did my parents and our children. We'll be back! more

Save yourself... Don't go!!! 11/27/2010

Simply put... It was the worst Italian I have ever had. I am still trying to figure out if the good reviews were written by drunks or family members. This palce really stinks... Waitress's were dressed like something out of Mel's diner. Wine was horrible. Better off getting a can of Chef-Boy- R-Dee and a bottle of mad dog 20/20. more

Disgusting. 11/13/2010

This place is disgusting. I have absolutely no idea how or why it is still in business. more

Good food 11/3/2010

I was visiting Baltimore for a business meeting and several of my co-workers suggested Sabatino's from previous trips to the city. I was NOT disappointed. I was greeted by a friendly host at the front door, seated immediately and served by a very attentive waiter. I had a Bookmaker Salad which was delicious. My Veal Cacciatore was perfectly tender in a wonderful and obviously freshly prepared marinara sauce with just the right texture. My side order of penne vodka was served al dente - as it should be - and it was really tasty, too. I travel frequently for business and dine out often. If my travels bring me anywhere near Sabatino's in the future, I will definitely be back! more

The worst!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8/17/2010

I tried this restaurant based on the recomendations of several people who had told me that the food was wonderful. The food is not wonderful, and it is not authentic Italian. I tried the veal and it more

C'mon haters; it's Sabs! What did you expect? There is always a table waiting for you, the service is fair and the bookmaker's salad is crazy! Have a couple of drinks and sit back and enjoy the company you came with. It is Sabs! What were you expecting!!?? Pros: It's Sabs! Cons: the food ain't that great more

Not everything they say 10/3/2009

On our first and only visit to Sabitino's we were surprising amazed that such a resturant could still be in business after the food we were served. Lets start with bread you would buy in the supermarket, italian soft and cold. served with butter in foil wrappers. You call this italian..where I come from italian bread is crunchy and served with olive oil and olives or something apptetizing. Next salad iceberg with very few vegtables to say the least.Dinner OH MAMMA chicken and veal somewhat rubberized and clams and linguine made right out of a can. Have you heard of bay leaf in clams. Sides of pasta served with a sauce that tasted like ketchup. If this is italian I have been glad to be at sabatino to really appreciate a good sauce. Don't waste your tastebuds or money on this so called Italian resturant. Pros: fast service Cons: food prepared from a can more

still the best overall for consistentcy 9/28/2009

sabs has been around a long time and the food has always been very good the service is also very good I've been in the service industry for a long time and I always go to sabs for a great meal Pros: shrimp renato Cons: nothing more

great food great service great price 9/21/2009

im a frequent customer of sabs and only because their service and food are so consistently good, i read some of these reviews and just encourage people to not let one bad experience keep you from going back. Sabs is family friendly when ever i have a family event i go their because it feels like they are apart of my family. Servers have been there for years. That should say something about the work environment. I ask one server and she said she was there for like thirty years wow. I dont normally write these reviews but i thought sabs was getting alot of bad slack and wanted to give them the review that they deserves. Go to sabs become apart of the family. Pros: service Cons: not open til 3am seven days a week more

An afternoon spoiled 9/3/2009

Just stay away! The menu was unimpressive, the specials posted on the outside sandwich board were not really ""specials"" but normal menu items. The Bookmaker Salad was comprised of iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, a couple of bland olives, cut up salami, tasteless cubes of some nondescript cheese, and pieces of shrimp that had any and all of its flavor somehow removed. The House Dressing, although full bodied, was also devoid of flavor, but had a nice flavorless gritty texture. The Bread was adequate, but if you go to the trouble of serving it wrapped in a napkin in a breadbasket, please heat it a little! Pros: Server was friendly Cons: Poor, poor quality more

worst of the worst 7/29/2009

Had a waitress that looked like a big red neck, had to track her down everytime we needed anything. The two tiny mannicotti was frozen inside, and there was just tons and tons of sauce, literally enough sauce for a family, and it tasted exactly like Chef boy ardee meat ravioli sauce. We had to pay ""Extra"" for the house dressing? AND, to top it off, the veal parm was so salty we couldn't eat it. I told the waitress we didn't like our meals, and she DID take them off the $50 bill. But, she never asked why or said one word to us, we just saw the meals taken off the bill. The floors were dirty too. What a disappointment. Pros: famous story of man shot in hallway Cons: every damn thing more

Don't dis the bookmaker, it makes books shudder 7/23/2009

Look, The bookmaker salad is hands down the best value in Little It. When you go anywhere else you're looking at $15-16 for a salad 1/3rd the size. Salami, Shrimp, Lettuce, Eggs and dressing -- all you need. For all those crazy cooks out there in culinary complaint land they've never had a high quality ingredient based dressing that is of the utmost respect to the littlest of italy. That ""grit"" you taste is authentic Parmesan coming right from the motherland. I apologize that you're tongue can't handle such delicate intricacies so if you need your food refined and processed down to Gerber quality, go hit-up Olive Garden and have them nuke you some dinner in the micro-oven. Boolean true; Pros: Bookmaker salad Cons: All these naysayers more
