Top Notch Movers 12/27/2010

I had to move twice due to building a new home. I used STI for the two moves. They men that showed up were very professional, polite and extremely hard workers. \r \r I found them from a search online and decided to take a chance since I had never heard of them....I'm so glad I did!!!! Alan was my consultant and he was great. Moving days were so easy with this company. They were on time went to several locations for all of my things. Put furniture together for me, even moved a few things that wasn't originally stated. \r \r They worked so hard and quickly they saved me money. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone!!!! Save yourself some time, aggrevation, and money....go with STI!!!! I'm so glad I did!!!!\r \r Thanks STI you made my moving day great and the guys were great!!!!! more

STI Movers delivers as promised! 12/18/2010

When I decided to move recently, I went online and searched for a moving service and I got a ton of responses. STI was the first to respond, and I am so glad because my Relocation Consultant, Solana, took down all of my information over the phone and e-mailed me a detailed cost estimate within hours. On moving day, things could not have gone any better. The guys from STI were absolutely great, they arrived on time, they worked very hard and very efficiently, and were nothing less than professional in the way they went about doing their job. They even saved me a little money off the estimated cost! : ) It was without a doubt the smoothest move I have ever made ( and I have made quite a few over the years...). Smooth move :) 11/23/2010

I moved about a month ago. I was really not looking forward to it because in the past when I have had to deal with moving companies it is always a disaster. Things get broken, lost and it ends up being a big mess! It was very different this time. I talked to a lot of companies before scheduling with STI. I decided on them because the prices were fair and the sales people who helped me were very nice. Unlike the other companies sales people I have dealt with, they actually took the time to listen to my questions and concerns and were patient and thorough with my requests. STI did a great job with my move! The movers were on time and were extremely careful while packing up my stuff. Everything made it to my new place in one piece! I am super happy with the outcome and will definitely use them for any future moves. Also I would highly recommend them to anyone who is moving and wants it to be a smooth process. I have already referred them to two of my friends who used them and were happy with their moves! more

Very professional and very fast! 11/17/2010

I used STI last weekend to move from my 2 bd apt to a 3 story townhouse. The move took 5 hours which considering all the heavy, bulky furniture was fast - the last move I had from a 2 bd apt to another 2 bd apartment took over 6.5 hrs! They took everything apart and reassembled it for me and actually assembled it better than the last moving company did! Thanks again! The crew was friendly, fast and efficient. Also, during the move, I had a leak between the walls, where the crew leader assisted me in locating where the leak was coming from while the other guys moved at double pace. Also, Solana , my consultant, called while the crew was moving my stuff out to check in and see if they were there on time and how the crew was doing. She also called after the move and followed up on how the experience was. What they quoted me was more than it ended up being, but that was my fault, as I had failed to mention that I had a LARGE 350LB L-shaped desk that the crew had to disassemble into three pieces and moved it all up the the top floor and reassemble. I would highly recommend this company, as I have used 3 different moving companies in the last 6 years (all in the Chicagoland area) and this one was the most affordable and painless move thus far. Highly recommended! more

Terrible Deceptive Liars 11/3/2010

Do not under any circumstances use STI Movers. They pulled a bait-and-switch on me and ripped me off. I chose STI from a group of potential moving companies because they promised me a flat rate of $262.50 for moving my one bedroom apartment. No other company offered a flat rate. I signed paperwork in which the flat rate was called an ""estimate""; the sales consultant, ""Max"", told me that was because I would probably incur some charges for incidentals such as furniture wrap, tape, etc.... Not only were the movers late, but they charged me the hourly rate for the move which came to over $400. When I called STI to get the charges changed, they had the nerve to tell me that they never said they would charge me a flat rate. I tried to point out that the paperwork I signed contained the flat rate; they countered by pointing out that their usual hourly charge was mentioned elsewhere in the paperwork and said ""You signed paperwork that stated our hourly rate, so that is what we are charging you."" So, they used DECEPTIVE practices to fool me into signing deceptive paperwork that appeared to quote me a flat rate, but it contained a loophole that allowed them to get away with charging me the hourly rate instead. And they had the nerve to LIE to me and try to convince me they never said they would give me a flat rate. These people are jerks. Don't use them. more

Our movers/driver was excellent 10/4/2010

Over all it was a good experience. I had a cross country move, and my furniture was picked up and delivered on time. Our movers/driver was excellent and very friendly. I recommend this company. more

I never write reviews but I really have to say that I was impressed by this company. From the very start my sales rep was extremely friendly and upfront with the prices and everything about the moving process. My estimate was spot on and the only extra thing I paid for was special packaging for the glass shelves of my china cabinet, which I wanted the movers to do. All of my stuff got to CA safely and pretty quickly. The movers were fast efficient and professional. I am really satisfied with my experience here.. I used these guys again recently and they were great!! more

The movers were also very courteous, helpful and accomodating. They handled my antiques with the utmost of care, yet were amazingly fast, not taking a second to take a break. Hopefully I won't be moving again for a long time, but I would not use anyone but be moving again for a long time, but I would not use anyone but STI. more

Excellent seamless moving experience 9/28/2010

I was very skeptical while I chose STI form several quotes for my interstate home move, but I am very pleased at the end of it. First, sales person Martin was very clear on giving a detailed quote and building my confidence on STI. Then on the day of move Mishko and his associate took all care in packing and loading the truck with no damage to the goods and the house. They did an excellent job. Then on the day of delivery crew worked efficiently and set up the house in very little time and all this in less than the original quoted price ( purely weight based) and all of this happned like a dream and received everything without any damange or loss. If I need to move again, I will go to STI and recommend them to my freinds and family. more

Not sure how there in business 9/26/2010

So i hired STI after fielding calls from about 5 other movers. I went with them because my rep Steve was very nice and seemingly told me about the service I was to receive. The movers who showed up were very hard to work with. Only 1 spoke English and he didnt even have a good grasp of the language. They made my 2 bedroom move take 8 hours, my last move 2 years ago took 4 (I used a different company). I was also charged over $300 for tape and boxes, I was told if i supplied my own they would be happy to use them which ofcourse was BS> When I called Steve about it he said he was sorry and agreed that i had been overcharged and that this kind of thing never happens. He told me that the movers were just tired. I had a 7 am start time which they insisted on. how they were tired i dont know. Steve said he would take care of the issue, a week went by I emailed and called and he is always on the other line or out of the office now. I finally tricked him on the phone and he put me on hold and never came back. I still havent heard back. This company is a joke and there are pleanty of other companies around to take the bait like I did. Run from this group of scammers, more
