Ruiz Mexican Restaurant

My hubby and I eat at Ruiz at least twice a month sometimes we eat there once a week. Whenever we have out of town guests we bring them to Ruiz for the best Mexican food in MO and the best staff a resteraunt can hire. more

Ruiz is the best Mexican Restaurant I have been to. Food is always great. The servers are wonderful and always a blast to kid around with! I would give Ruiz 5 stars for great food!! The one in Florissant is the best for charm and service. The Wright City location has the same great food, but since it is newer, I don't know the servers as well, so don't feel quite as ""at home"". more

I voted for Ruiz as the #1 Mexican Restaurant. We have been going to Ruiz since 1970. The Enchilatas are the best I have ever had. I played on Jose Sr's softball team for 5 years in the '70s when Ruiz had one little spot in the strip mall on Hwy 67 in Florissant where Ruiz is still located. Now Ruiz occupies the entire strip mall. The entire team would gather there after the Sunday games for dinner and drinks to celebrate our victories (and losses if we lost). It was a GREAT time. Enjoyed by all. In September of 2000 we moved to Foristell and continued to go to Ruiz for the fine Mexican cuisine in Wright City, Mo.Both Ruiz's have excellent food and atmosphere. We have tried other Mecian restaurants but none have even come close to Ruiz. Benny the bartender at Wright City is a excellent bartender/waiter. He is always in control of the bar and the patrons in the bar area. Everyone that comes in the bar knows Benny or gets to know him and they just love him. He treats all with much respect and dignity. He is a GREAT asset to the Ruiz Family Restaurant. I have recommended Ruiz to many of my friends and those that have tried Ruiz have thanked me many times. The food is excellent. I have been dining there regularly for over 25 years. I especially like the great quality beef that they use in all of there entrees. The service is always outstanding. I recommend it highly. more

Have you ever gone back to a restaurant (one you really enjoyed a few years ago) only to find that it just wasn't as good as you remembered? Something (or many somethings) has changed (always for the worse!) and it just wasn't what you hoped it would be. The thing I most enjoy about Ruiz Castillo's is the fact that we have been going there for twenty years and there are no disappointing surprises. Everything is just as I remember it, every time. It's always exceptionally excellent and it's always consistent. The food is the best Mexican food I have ever had (and I have been to hundreds of Mexican restaurants) and is always in consideration when deciding where to go on our ""date night."" Ruiz to us is the BEST Mexican resturant in St.Louis. The food there is great. I have gotten hooked on the enchilada polblamo, probably spelled wrong. It is the best! Another thing is the great service there. Denise is a great waitress and serves us well all the time. The guys are great also :-) They all deserve to be appladed. If ya have never been, you don't know what your missing. They are worth the try and am positive you won't be disappointed at all. And they also have great drinks there too. Great margriata's! more

I have been ordering beef quesadillas at Ruiz' for the past 30 years. I've tried other menu items, which are also delicious, but I always go back to my favorite. The beef is scrumptious, and their rice is out of this world! The ambiance is friendly and comfortable, whether you are there with family or friends. The servers are great, always helpful and prompt. And the margaritas . . . yummm-mmmm! If you like authentic Mexican fare, give Ruiz' a try. more

This is, bar none, the best Mexican Restaurant in St. Louis. Best margaritas around, warm chips and salsa (be sure to try the green salsa if you're brave) and the best service in any language. Authentic Mexican food has never been so quick, easy, and affordable. The menu is upgraded often, with new steak tacos and burritos, and the variety is second to no one. From the ""Create Your Own"" menu, you can eat there every night for a month, and never have the same thing. I recommend Chili Colorado Pepitos personally, but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Great atmophere for families, or for ""adult time"" at the bar. Everytime I am there the servers always make me feel as if I was really in Mexico. Always have a big smile, and never keep you wiating. I have been in North county for 30 years and ruiz is the one I would tell friends and family to go to. The nachos are awsome...if you want beef, chicken they have it. Also what I really like is the prices and you get lots of food. Also some of the items, maybe I want only a half order you can get it. It is a greta family resteraunt. Our favorite server is Juan and we have been known to wait for one of his tables to be available. Ruiz' has fantastic food and service! My family has been going to Ruiz for as long as I can remember. Ruiz' even sponsers our sand volleyball team, our picture is even on the wall. We come in every week and we still can't get enough. My team and family has always loved the atmosphere and the great food.
