Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Had a sewer line clogged on a Sunday afternoon last week. Called the roto-rooter plumber in Farmingdale. Theyc ame right away & were able to clear the line. The technician was very helpful & went out of his way to answer our questions/concerns. Will use them again. Thanks.-Ed C., Malverne,NY more

Called Roto-rooter after our vent backed up, which they had previously been unclogged. Terrific and knowledgeable serviceman named Ken #3761 cleaned the clog, but was not completely satisfied, so he used a camera to check the line again from the crawl space. Upon checking, he realized a leak in the crawl space from our original cast iron elbow. Sewage was leaking into the crawl space, we had no idea of. The line seemed to have been cleared. It could have been the awful paper we had been using. Ken recommended that we change our main line where it exits the house to replace the leaking pipes. He said that it could be replaced, that day, a Sunday, mind you. \r \r Ken called another serviceman, Frank #3611. Both men worked clean and efficiently to get the job done and were very thorough. Thankfully the issue was remedied and the pipe are no longer leaking. While inspecting the line with the camera, Ken also noticed that the cesspool was full. We also had that service done as well the following day. Thank you root-rooter for there response time and their workers. more

We had a leaky bath faucet and we didn't know who to call. We noticed a lot of Roto-Rooter trucks in our area (Long Island) so we thought we'd give it a try. They were very efficient and came to our house within an hour. The cost was a bit higher than I expected but the plumber was very knowledgeable. I would definitely call them again if I ever have a problem! more

We had a main line from our house to the sewer line in the street clogged with tree roots. THREE companies came out (the last 2 recommended by the first) to figure out the problem; all three said we needed to excavate the pipe, chop down our beautiful old tree that was ""in the way"", dig up our lawn and garden, our sidewalk, curb and cut into the street, all which they estimated at $15,000!!!!! They said not to put any toilet paper into the toilets at all and to take care of this IMMEDIATELY. They panicked us into giving them $1000 deposit whereupon they would start the permit process.\r \r After thinking about it we decided to slow down, not panic, and call another company for a second opinion. We called Roto-Rooter who immediately sent someone out to send a camera (like the other companies did) into the line. RR said it wasn't THAT bad, that the whole thing could be taken care of with a power jet for $1,000. Of course we went that route instead, canceled the excavation and got a partial refund from that company. We did have to pay them for videoing the line as well.\r \r RR also told us our old house's main line was NOT made of Orangeburg (a compressed cardboard-like substance used 80 years ago when our house was built) as the other companies surmised, but instead it was made of Translite, a clay and asbestos substance which is more durable. We had so much more PEACE OF MIND after listening to RR and they saved us $13,000!!!\r \r THANK YOU Roto-Rooter! You are our new go-to guys for plumbing! more

Well...we tried several plumbers who were not able or willing to attempt to clear the main line of our septic system...the Roto-Rooter service was exceptional...the plumber, Peter, arrived within 45 minutes of the service call..he quickly diagnosed the problem and successfully cleared the line within 1 hour...Thanks for the superior service! more

My recent experience with Bill, your technician, was most pleasurable. It was a nice as it could be while you are spending $482.24 trying to fix a cesspool. Bill was clean and neat as he entered my house and even after giving us the news that we need a new cesspool the visit remained pleasant. He drew up some paperwork for us letting us know exactly what was needed and what was going to happen. If all goes according to Bill after the job is completed then we, my husband and myself, will be very happy. Bill got us started by calling for the cesspool to be pumped, which was done the next day. The money that a new cesspool will cost is alot on a family on a fixed income, but at least it was a pleasant experience. more

After having a brand new bathroom constructed, at 10 oclock on a Friday night, we had a massive flood in that new bathroom. Called the number for roto- rooter and got probably the best customer service I can recall. Unable to send a plumber out that night, there was a plumber at my door at 7:45 the next morning. Rich was wonderful, very thorough and kept me appraised of everything he was doing. Of course it was a complicated problem, but Rich definitely thought outside the box to fix the problem. Unfortunately that same night, the same thing happened again, and on Sunday morning Kenny came to help. Again- I cant say enough about the service and his expertise. THANK YOU for making a horrible situation bearable. I would recommend these people to anyone! more

We had a leak, needed a plumber, called Roto Rooter in Farmingdale long island and Josh (#348) came over quickly! He was able to find the problem and came back the next day to fix it! Josh was patient and kind to my three young children and took all safety precautions. He cleaned up the mess once finished. Hopefully we don't need a plumber very often but if we do we will call for Josh again!! more

Excellent work done by Bill # 1556 on June 6, 2012. The shower/bathtub diverter stopped working, allowing water to gush from the tub-spout when the shower was on. The screw that secures the diverter handle was stripped and that made the job more difficult. Bill competently and quickly was able to remove the handle and rebuild the shower diverter. I'm very satisfied with the overall quality of work, price, and technician's expertise. I'll use Roto-Rooter again as my plumber on Long Island. more

I was a bit apprehensive to have roto-rooter plumbers come over and do the work, but after exhausting all of my other options and over priced plumber in Long Island, Nassau County, I decided to call roto-rooter, after all it didn't hurt to get an estimate. The roto-rooter staff exceeded my expectations. The dispatcher called me in the morning and tried to get a professional plumber to my place at a decent time (by 9:30am - awesome). The licensed plumber who came over from the Farmingdale, N.Y. office in Long Island, introduced himself ""Luis"" - tech #51. Luis was up front about the cost and explained everything to me up front. Luis quickly and accurately isolated the problem area (old/rusted pipe). He did a thorough inspection to ensure there were no other problem areas with the pipes. He gave me a decent quote (less than other quotes received by other licensed plumbers in Long Island). Luis understood that I had a tight budget. He provided the best long term solution for my problems. He spared no expense when it came to the quality of work. He spent time (over 5 1/2 hours) to ensure the work was done properly. He tried to find the best solution in order to avoid ripping all of my walls (with my permission, he had to make a small hole to resolve the issue). He triple checked his work and made sure he left without any leaks with the pipes. He thoroughly cleaned any debris, offered a non-intrusive product to protect the pipes (no pressure, my choice), and explained that ALL work is GUARANTEED for 1 YEAR -- any issues he (Luis) will come and fix it for FREE. Luis did an excellent job and exceeded my expectations. If I, or any of my friends ever encounter any plumbing issues, I will definitely tell them to call roto-rooter and ask for Luis. I am sure all the other roto-rooter employees do just as good of a job, but with my experience with Luis, I am sold and will be a life long customer. I cannot speak for anyone else, but the only advice I can give (based on my experience) is to call for yourself and have a roto-rooter technician come over and provide you with an estimate. I am GLAD I did!!! more

I had my elderly father's kitchen sink and upstairs shower repaired a couple of days ago and I had the best experience. The plumber, Sherwin, Tech #59 from the Farmingdale, N.Y location was so thorough, pleasant, kind to my father and provided superior service. \r \r He explained all that needed to be done in such a way that made me feel comfortable in getting the work done that same night. He made some great suggestions and gave sage advice. The senior discount was a nice bonus too.\r \r The kitchen faucet from Delta that he provided is gorgeous, the shower is divine and I am a very happy woman right now.\r \r Sherwin was awesome and I would definitely have him service my father's home anytime. From the first phone call to Roto-Rooter to the thank you at the end of service everyone was wonderful. My hot water tank quit and dumped water all over my downstairs. So I called the plumbing service that helped me in the past. With-in one hour of the first call, Tim the plumber was at my house and 5 hours of work, he had taken out my old tank,got me a new one and I was good to go. This company is the best on Long Island. Late Saturday night I heard our sump pump going on and off. Know that the only time it has ever came on was during extremely heavy rain, and since we haven't had rain in weeks, we knew there was a big problem. We waited till the morning and called Roto-rooter. They came quickly and found the problem, a clogged pipe in the waste line.
