I've been going to Robert Severo for a couple years now, up until yesterday I had been completely satisfied. The stylists were always friendly and accommodating. I don't know what has happened (the economy or maybe the Aveda institute being built up the street) but all the sudden it's like they don't care anymore. I tried to schedule my appointment in advanced but got waitlisted, not usually a big deal because usually at least one person will cancel. So I call day of and yes there is an open spot, I go there and the place is empty, I can see why it was hard to get an appointment there was only one stylist in a salon with 8 chairs. I always get a different person every time I go which tells me there is a high turnover, usually a sign of poor management. I'm really only there to get a trim (to keep my hair healthy so I can donate it), and a flatiron. I'm a single father, full time student and employee, I really don't have time to spend on my hair so every once in a while I like to treat myself with a flat iron at the salon being the most outrageous I ever get. Well I got a half hearted shampoo, had to force a conversation, then didn't even get a flat iron because no one had put it into the notes and another customer was coming in. So this other customer comes in and they roll out the red carpet, he gets asked if he wants something to drink ""the chardonnay is room temp is that ok?"" I'm not a big drinker but I could care less, it was then it hit me I was getting rushed off the seat for apparently a VIP customer. Do I get offered to reschedule? Nope. Do I get offered an apology? Half hearted. Do I get a courtesy discount? Nope and I still tipped! I was really hoping for a follow-up call later on that day or the next, but nothing came. So I callback ask to speak to someone about my bad experience I lay the details on the line. I get a callback and I get another half-hearted apology, and basically get told they accommodated me by letting me come in. I'm sorry to be sarcastic for a moment but Wow so I pay you money and in return get treated like I'm not even worth your time, how exactly is that accommodating?
Pros: Aveda down the street can fix Severo's mistakes.
Cons: Poor Customer Service, High Turnover Rate, Not that special
