overpriced, not returning calls 12/11/2011

$345 - that's how much it costs to replace a zone valve. 1 hour of work and $50 valve. Called Richmond Plumbing few times to get a breakdown on their bill, only to be told that manager will call me back. Still waiting for the call more

We had no heat! Called National Grid and was told I needed a new furnace, so I called Richmond Plumbing and Heating today and they were at my home within an hour of my call which was late on a Friday afternoon. First they said they would be able to install the new furnace early Saturday morning, but then made a call and was able to confirm that the new furnace could be delivered within an hour. They proceeded to take out my 35 year old furnace and promptly install a new within hours of my initial call . The job was done, quickly, professionally and most of all with respect to my home and circumstance. I have a special needs child and they went above and beyond on a Friday evening to ensure we had. I would gladly recommend this company to everyone! Thank you to Joe, Mike, Rob and Dino for being so helpful. more

RELIABLE & PROFESSIONAL SERVICE, EVEN IN A BLIZZARD! 2/27/2010

My husband and I lost our heat and hot water in the middle of the blizzard on Thursday night. We have a new born baby at home and I called Richmond Plumbing in a panic. After talking to an after hours operator and telling her my problem, the owner called back within minutes to find out what was wrong. I told him our house was getting increasingly cold and I was worried about my baby. He was kind and efficient and dispatched a truck to our house, which arrived within a half hour. (Once the plumbers got here they mentioned that the owner made special arrangements to get a 4x4 so they could even reach our house, which is located on a steep hill.) The guys were respectful of our sleeping baby and were very aware about keeping our house neat... they even took off their boots! Within an hour we had heat and hot water and were able to watch the snow fall while our baby slept peacefully. I don't know how to thank them for keeping my family warm on such a miserable night. Bait and Switch 11/25/2009

I received a $300 quote from Richmond Plumbing to replace a tub faucet (I provided faucet). At my home the price over doubled, it went from $300 to $675. Since I cannot afford that, Richmond Plumbing replaced a couple of washers for $179. Stay clear of Richmond Plumbing! more

Richmond Plumbing & Heating Shoud be Ashamed 9/22/2009

Unconscionable and Unethical Attempt at Performing Unnecessary Costly Work\r \r My 94 year old mother's furnace stopped working. She called Richmond Plumbing & Heating and the repairman came to check it out. He told her she needed a new valve replacement and new wiring inside. Quoted $550 for the job. She is on a fixed income and we are struggling to help her since we have our own bills and medical expenses for my husband undergoing heart surgery.\r \r My sister called National Grid who said they would issue a service contract whereby you pay $263 per year for unlimited service calls. They came today and said the only thing needed was to relight the pilot light that had gone off!!!! No new parts. It is now working beautifully.\r \r If this isn't a classic case of taking advantage of someone--especially a widow aged 94 years--I don't know what is! Despicable and unethical.\r \r Think what goes around comes around? Hope so. I wonder how they would treat their own mothers. Interesting th more

Very Honest And Clean! 2/13/2009

I was very happy when the two workers came to my house, took off their boots, and fixed my leak in my upstairs bathroom. I highly recommend this company, my family has been using them for over 20 years and I will continue the tradition with my family. Thank you Richmond Plumbing! more

Horrible! Don't bother!!! 1/18/2009

They never called back when they said they would-I had a pipe burst and my heat may shut off due to this and they never called back after leaving 2 messages. She said that she gave the right phone number to the plumber and he will call within the hour to set something up for the next day. It is now 11 am the next day and still no word! I have called another company.Too bad-my brother builds houses and could use a good plumber-too bad it wasn't them!! more

They installed my new part to my old heater, which in turn saved me a ton of money. Thank god for honest people today!. Great staff, and very professional, and timely more
