Best

OMG I'm soooo happy!!! I am pleased to say that my experience in finding my 1st apartment with Rapid Realty was an awesome one! My Rapid agent made the whole process easier than I...

Worst

KEEP YOUR WORD!!! If you say that your going to give deposit to landlord in good faith, do it! Don't pocket the money....Apartment hunting process went well until that point and I...

Never again!... 1/16/2008

I got my current apartment through them and initially was terribly excited about it as well as the whole rental agency experience. everything was going well.... until we signed the lease. Once I gave my deposit rapid stopped all contact with me. I had to keep calling to find out when my move in date was, i had to wait almost an hour on the phone to find out when i could get keys to my new place, the list goes on. finally i get a hold of someone who tells me that the place is ready to move into immediately. so i move all 2 trucks full of stuff only to find out that it wouldnt be ready until another 3 weeks. but at that point it was too late as my other place was being moved into as we spoke. so now i live in one of their properties paying too much and getting much much less than the other tenants who got all brand new everything while i look for a new place. They could care less about their customers. Actually, I wish i could get a job there. Who wouldnt want a job that pays well doing nothing? more

Friendly, Energetic Salesperson, Excellent Selection of Apartments 11/12/2007

I'll make this short and sweet. I came across this company on craigslist, and contacted them with a broad idea of what I needed in an apartment. I wanted a place that was really nice, and within walking distance of Prospect Park. I figured that was an easy request. My salesperson gave me a selection of places over the phone and helped to narrow it down to just a few, and took me out to see them the same day!! I was impressed by her [the salesperson] ability to match me up with a place. She showed me a place that I couldn't resist a block away from the park, and I took it without hesitation. I'm an easy sell, but still this was a pretty painless experience, and thankfully my apartment search ended quick! Pros: Lots of places to choose from, Energetic Salesperson, Great Office Hours more

Simply awful 10/9/2007

Isn't it convenient/ironic that the last four posts all have the words ""RAPID REALTY"" and ""REALLY POSITIVE"" all in caps..how blatently obvious is it that the last four posts have been posted by employees of the firm trying to negate the previous poor reviews. Plus - the spelling and grammatical errors in the comments can give you an idea of the types of ""agents"" you would be doing business with. Avoid this firm at all costs. more

Liked The Agents, Helped By Several, Good Brooklyn Experience, Highly Recommendable 9/17/2007

If your new to New York there are a couple rights of passage that one must go through. Getting horribly lost on the subway has to be the first, getting yelled at by complete strangers and of course finding an apartment. While the first two can be taken with a grain of salt, the latter holds a little more weight. I?ve heard so many good and bad stories that I didn?t really know what to expect. I was moving from Cali and really knew nothing of New York, let alone Brooklyn but regardless it was time to take the plunge. I called a bunch of brokers and really took the time to see what each company had. Just to explain I?m probably the worst client any salesmen can have and I really put everyone to the test. I understand that everyone needs to make a living but come-on now why should I have to pay almost twice my rent for an apartment. While most of the brokers held their own and really tried their best, one company really stood out. Rapid Realty was like no other company out there. The majority of the agents aren?t salesmen, they?re just regular people who show apartments for a living. This might sound as a negative assessment but its quite the opposite, going on the appointment was like spending time with a peer. While they could not cater to my situation because I decided to move to Manhattan, they are by far the best of Brooklyn real estate and that?s coming from a person who can be so frustrating to deal with that most don?t bother. more

Finally A Real Estate Agency That Actually Has The Places They Advertise! 9/9/2007

This Will Be Quick. I hate these long winded citysearch reviews. So Let's cut to the chase. It seems like every agent I contacted who was advertising apartments for rent in brooklyn, all miraculously rented the apt either the day I called or the night before. I almost gave up on working with brokers, but decided to call this guy who posted apts that actually contained pictures of the places and seemed to have a variety of options for me to choose from.Long Story short, went out with the guy from RAPID REALTY and he could not get into the place that I met up with him to go and check out. Now, normally I would think that he was either lieing about actually having this place available or that he did not want to show me the place because he over hyped it...But because we actually got to the front of the place and I physically saw with my own eyes that the hardwood floors were just polyurethaned/shined, I was able to tell that he was being truthful and decided to reschedule with him for a 2nd go around when the apt was available to be shown. Turns out when I met with him 2 days later, the place was even better than described, which was a huuuuge relief to me and I ended up taking it. I am Super Happy that I did not give up on working with brokers prior to meeting with my agent from Rapid Realty and although this isnt easy to say(about a broker)...I Would Recommend RAPID REALTY to anyone searching for apts in Brooklyn. Pros: Rented Great Apartment which Took only 3 days to finalize/agent was a nice guy and knowledgeable Cons: Wished Agent Knew Ahead of Time that Floors Were Not Able to Be Walked On Prior to Me Coming To Brooklyn more

1st Review/Agent was Patient and NOT Salesman Like/Open Late Night->Never Knew Possible/Good Experience 9/2/2007

Look, I'm not the type to rush home and badmouth a place on Citysearch if I've had a bad experience, but I do visit the site occasionally after I've done business or am considering doing business with someone. This happens to be my first review and because I had a great experience at this office and others apparently have not...I figured I'd give ""Kudos/Koodos"" where Kudos was due! Heres My Experience: So I walk into this place a late Monday Evening, after having spoken with ""my agent"" several times prior to our scheduled appointment. I asked for the guy and he happened to not be in the office and was behind on his previous showing. At first I must say I was a bit turned off by the fact that he had not called me and let me know that he would not make it. But then, when the receptionist behind the counter called him, he told her that he had called me but it went straight to voicemail, which turned out to be true because I was heading over to the office on the subway and had no reception. Anyway...I figured by then that I had wasted my time travelling to Brooklyn and was on a fast track to seeing nothing. Instead...Luckily...""my agent"" had informed a co-worker that he would be unavailable for my appointment and that he (the co-worker) should take care of me. So we proceeded to leave the building and headed out towards the 1st Apt. Suprisingly the guy did'nt come off as a ""USED CAR SALESMAN"" type of person...which was good for him , because I would have dropped him like a hat. Anyway Moving Forward...The 1st place was a dump...and we moved on to the 2nd place...Significantly BETTER...But NOT what I was looking for..3rd Place was in GREAT LOCATION but the apt was too small(as usual)...By the time we reached the 5th Place I could see I was begining to wear the guy out. Fortunately for both of us, the place was FANTASTIC turned out to be a NO BRAINER!! So I took it. By the time we got back to the office and finished up the initial paperwork it was10:23pm.CLIENT FRIENDLY\r Pros: Extensive Inventory/Friendly Agent/Paid Low Fee/Open Late Cons: Could Not Get Through To Office Line on 1st 3 Attempts more

Busy Office, Can Be Difficult to Get In Contact With, Great Inventory, Found Cool Pad 1st Time Out 9/2/2007

If you've ever walked into that office/zoo, you know that these guys mean business. I remember walking into the place and being overwhelmed by the amount of people and movement that I saw, which I NEVER experienced at any other visit to a Real Estate Office. It kind've reminded me of the movie ""BOILER ROOM"" but Not Necessarily in a bad way. My Agent was a couple of minutes late, but several of his colleagues kept me busy and entertained me until he arrived. By the time he got there they had all the keys ready to go, which allowed us to exit the building shortly after he arrived. I ended up taking the 4th place he showed me, but I must say that based on how Customer Friendly and Professional the treatment at the office was, even if I did not find a place that night, I DEFINATELY wouuld have continued to use their services. I recommended them to my other students at my school's dorms. If I had 1 complaint it was that when initially applying for the apt that I found, they gave me a generic application created at their office and just as I was ready to go, they realized that the management company that owned the building where the apt that I was applying for was located, had their own seperate application and it required an application fee of $100. Although that prolonged my visit to the office, they were nice enough to eat the cost of the fee, which was pretty nice. All things considered I would use them again. Pros: Seem Like they More Agents Than Anyone,Very Knowledgeable Agent,Found Great Apt Cons: Application Process was a bit confusing more

Found No Fee Apt At 11:45PM!! Great Service/Not Typical Realty Company 9/1/2007

Ever feel as if everytime you call a real estate agent they are only available at the one time when you're not??? I did'nt have much success in scheduling appointments with brokers or landlords, because of my busy work schedule. A Friend of mine recommended RAPID REALTY in South Slope because he used them a year ago and they rented him an apt at 11:30pm(that's right 11:30pm)!! Which I almost did not believe, but it ended up being true. I worked with an agent from Rapid Earlier this year and was soooo happy to hear that the office did not officially close until 10:00pm and that if needed they remain open until all clients were attended to. To my surprise the agent made an appointment to meet me at 10:00pm on a Thursday Night. It Worked out BEUTIFULLY...The Poor Guy stood with me until 11:45pm and we found a place that same night. By the time the girl at the finished up with my application and deposit procedure, it was 12:08am and get this, the guy even drove me a more convenient subway station to make it easier on me. NOW THAT'S CUSTOMER SERVICE! Pros: Open Everyday and Close Late(cater to client's needs/work around schedule)No Fee Places more

EXTREMELY Helpful to my Rental Experience VERY RECOMMENDABLE 9/1/2007

Last month i was in the market for a studio or 1 bedroom in prospect heights section of brooklyn. i was not successful in finding one that was close enough to any of the types of shops and restaurants that i desired. i met with a lady from a real estate company called rapid and i ended renting a 2 bedroom in park slope, which i really liked better, and she went as far as posting up ads on the internet and helping me find a roommate. loved everything about the experience and would say to people searching for a place to consider using the internet to find roommates if necessary. Pros: Agent Practically Bent Over Backwards and Went Out Of Way to Help Me more

Competant Salesperson and Quick Approval 9/1/2007

I feel lucky that I was able to find a great apartment in Brooklyn before visiting this website. I was searching for apts for a while and went out with several real estate agents who were all pleasant people but seemed to have selective hearing. I requested several amenities as part of my search, and each time out I felt that either the agents had not listened to me...or that they simply did not have the inventory and decided to try and be forceful in their attempt to persuade me to take the 1 or 2 bad apts that they had to offer. Eventually I came across a general ad that stated that this person, who ended up working for RAPID REALTY, had many apts to choose from available in all areas of brooklyn. I decided to give it a shot and was able to find the apt that I just moved into. My experience was QUITE POSITIVE,and because I frequently visit this website and respect the reviews that it posts, I feel lucky that I did not view the negative reviews that are written about Rapid Realty, because I probably would not have even thought about doing business with them. I am not sure what happened to everyone else in the situations that were detailed in the listed reviews, but my personal experience happened to be a good one and I would recommend Rapid Realty to anyone. Pros: I did not pay a fee/agent listened to my wants Cons: Wanted a Copy of My Credit Report and They Said they were ""Not Authorized"" to release it more

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!! ALL THEY DO IS TO TAKE YOUR $$ FIRST!! DON'T GO!!! 8/16/2007

1. I am the guarantor for my friend. They required all the info from me including pay stubs, w2, and back statement (with my bank accounts which make me uncomfortable) which is rediculous; my prior experience was just 2 pay stubs to rent an apt.\r 2. My friend alreay paid all the money and signed the lease. They still don't have the key for him.\r 3. Made appointments several times with the landlord and agent they never showed up (they got the money though) and we were just sitting there and waiting for another agent.\r 4. Can it be any worse? Cons: A lot more
