OMG I'm soooo happy!!! I am pleased to say that my experience in finding my 1st apartment with Rapid Realty was an awesome one! My Rapid agent made the whole process easier than I...

Worst

KEEP YOUR WORD!!! If you say that your going to give deposit to landlord in good faith, do it! Don't pocket the money....Apartment hunting process went well until that point and I...

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!! ALL THEY DO IS TO TAKE YOUR $$ FIRST!! DON'T GO!!! 8/16/2007

1. I am the guarantor for my friend. They required all the info from me including pay stubs, w2, and back statement (with my bank accounts which make me uncomfortable) which is rediculous; my prior experience was just 2 pay stubs to rent an apt. Cons: A lot more

HUGE RIP OFF - NOT WORTH IT 8/16/2007

I replied to an add on craigslist for an apartment and it led me to Rapid Realty. IT was the worst experience of my life. I put a deposit down on an pat, and when I went in to sign the lease I learned that another person was there to sign the same lease who also put money down. I later found out they told me the wron rentand the apartment was actually more expensive (**AFTER THEY HAD MY DEPOSIT). On top of that they told me the move in date was th 15th and in reality it was the first. They did nothing to make up for any of these mistakes expect deny my refund.\r \r They were rude to me, I had to wait a minimum of 1 hour to be helped even onec i signed the lease. No body ever knew anything I needed to know. I strongly recomend anyone looking for an apartment not to use Rapid Realty. I have since heard many other horror stories form other people. They take your money (15% fee - NON-NEGOTIABLE) and are very disrespectufull and unorganized. VERY SHADY BUSINESS. I wish I knew better a feel months ago.\r Pros: They know a lot of landlords Cons: They neglect the tenant in every possible way more

Absolutely awful experience- Rapid Realty mislead us and left us with no place to live. 7/29/2007

Absolutely awful experience- Rapid Realty mislead us and left us with no place to live. 7/29/2007

I never thought I would be confronted with a situation like the one that Rapid Realty produced for me.\r Rapid Realty left myself and three roommates HOMELESS FOR THREE DAYS. I cannot emphasize enough the lack of organization and efficiency that we dealt with while wasting our time and money with Rapid Realty. We were shown a great apartment, signed a temporary lease on the spot, and thought we were golden. After not getting our phone calls returned for a week, we finally managed to get into the office to sign the real lease. The night before we were supposed to move in, after trying to conact them, I got a TEXT MESSAGE saying that our meeting was CANCELED. We had no idea why. Here we are, three of us sleeping on one futon in the living room of the apartment that was empty. We had spent the day packing our U-Haul truck, which was now parked outside with all of our stuff in it. I then spent that entire night arguing on the phone with various people, telling them we had no place to go, and we had been told we would be moving in at 9 am the next morning. To make a looong story short, we ended up having to LIVE OUT OF OUR TRUCK for three days, all the while trying to contact Rapid Realty and get the story straight, everyone telling us something different. Finally, I broke down and found the number to the landlord, who took pity on me and told me to meet him to get the keys, so we could move in. He told me to NOT TO TELL RAPID REALTY, and that every time he dealt with them, they ALWAYS MADE THINGS A MESS.\r \r Rapid Realty mislead us. They don't know how to run a business properly. By using them, my roommates and I ended up losing hundreds (and hundreds) of dollars. We had to pay for the truck plus parking, we missed work, and had no place to sleep/shower/eat. Luckily we could rely on friends, but unless you want to gamble, DO NOT DEAL WITH RAPID REALTY. I cannot express how unbelievable this all was to me. AVOID THEM. Absolutely awful. Pros: nothing Cons: disorganized, un-intelligent, sleazy, ""realtors"", liars, un-informed, un-professional more

1st Real Estate Experience In New York and Was Totally Satisfied 7/26/2007

Well Here's The Deal:\r \r Just Recently Relocated from Boston and I Was warned by many friends about the risks of working with Real Estate Brokers when searching for an apartment in NYC/BROOKLYN.\r So Keeping their advice in mind I searched Craigslist and continued to see listings posted by this same company, that all seemed too good to be true...RAPID REALTY.\r \r So I Decided to contact a guy who had some of the most interesting postings that I've viewed online.\r Turns out that some of the places that were posted were already rented, and he continued to EMPHASIZE how quickly apartments go and built a sense of urgency for me, when it came to the decision making portion of the process.\r At first I must say, I was skeptical about working with anyone. But this guy, who shall remain nameless, we'll call him Mr. Angelucci, won me over. He seemed to be more interested in EDUCATING ME on what the market had to offer as OPPOSED to attempting to SELL ME on the apt he was describing\r That definately caught me by surprise. But obviously it was a GREAT thing!\r Anyways, Eventually I met up with him he took me out to view some places and showed me some apartments in neighborhoods that I was'nt familiar with and he even went as far as giving me a tour of the nighborhood.\r Finally we found a place that was well within my budget, and it was a NO FEE apartment. The Place was Not what I expected to find before stepping foot in Brooklyn, But because this guy was sooo thorough and detailed he was able to show me that my level of expectation was waaaay toooo high and this apartment was the most for my money.\r In Summary I Would RECOMMEND RAPID REALTY\r Please Note: I also worked with some other brokers in brooklyn:\r **ALTA NYC- Seemed Shady, Lots of Listings Posted on Craigslist, None of Which were Available\r **Park Terrace Properties- Friendly and Informative, But Lacked Inventory\r **Doral NY- Nice People, a little unprofessional, viewed only 1 place(roaches),Girl who helped me was great Pros: Extensive Inventory/Personable Agent/No Fee Apt Cons: Waited too long inside office for application to be taken/Very Busy at moment of transaction more

Unprofessional and Shady Realty. 6/25/2007

If you haven't been fast-talked into putting down an unspecified deposit on an apartment, then be forewarned: NEVER CONDUCT BUSINESS WITH RAPID REALTY. Rapid Realty does not care about tenants or landlords. They are only interested in closing deals any way possible by cutting corners with lies and psychological sales tricks. Here is my experience: After being told that i had to hurry up and put a deposit down on an apartment because someone else was going to put a deposit down (lie # 1), they made my cosigner and I wait in their closing room for almost one hour to type up a three sentence addendum to a lease that was blatantly worded against our original wishes. After my cosigner rightly walked away from being tricked into signing for both me and my potential roommate, it took them an entire week to get back to us with an answer from the landlord. Then they told us that due to our credit history, the landlord wants us to sign a lease with an increase of 100 dollars per month. Who does that?! We think that Rapid Realty gave us an incorrect quote from the very beginning and then used our vulnerable credit situation against us to try to get us to close the deal by waiting close to the end of the month to give us an answer from the landlord. At that point, we backed out and got our deposit back, which we got back in 24 hours thankfully. We also found out later that the apartment they tried to give us happens to be the back yard of the largest homeless mens shelter in Brooklyn with a methadone clinic right down the street. I feel sorry for the tenants in the building that will close with Rapid Realty. more

DO NOT USE RAPIDREALTY 6/11/2007

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE SHOULD ANYONE DO BUISNESS W/ RAPIDREALTY. They are a sleazy organization with poor buisness practices. A story if you will...\r \r After deciding on an apt. that we had to more or less armwrestle the agents for, we made an apointment to sign the lease. After a 1.5 hr. wait in the RapidRealty office which seemed to be run by a bunch of teenagers, we were presented w/ a lease w/ numerous mistakes including but not limited to the Lease date being off by 1/2 month and added utilities of which were previously agreed to be removed. After another 40 min. of revisions we went through the signing process to get our keys to our apartment which was to be (in writing) ""recently renovated,"" ""mint condition"" by the move-in date.\r well move in day comes and...\r ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WAS DONE TO THE APARTMENT. It was still a construction site with no floors, no appliances, no toilet,no vanity , no paint, in some areas no drywall, and both missing and broken windows. Not to mention piles of rubble larger that me in the living room. Of course by this point RapidRealty caimed no responsibility. ""There is really nothing we can do."" After meeting with the owner (who apparently had not stepped foot in the apt. after signing the lease and was unaware of the extend of renovation neccessary) he agreed that the property was not livable, and agreed to refund our deposits after legal pressure was mentioned. \r \r RapidRealty does not attempt to protect the tennants in any way by ensuring the owners and landlords are ligitimate or ethical buisness-persons. \r \r Rapid Realty is a poor, unpractical, and irresponsible decision towards choosing a realter.\r \r DO NOT USE RAPIDREALTY Pros: Unethical Cons: Untruthfull more

Be ready to haggle and spend a lot of wasted time 5/26/2007

First time trying a realty company. Very disappointed. Went to Rapid Realty after seeing so many posts by their agents on Craigslist under no-fee rentals. Why not go to the source? After telling the agent to whom we were connected our requirements three times over two days before meeting him, he still didn't have listings ready for us. After waiting for thirty minutes in the office our agent and another took us out to look at apartments. The first was $100 over our budget and included a fee, which we said we were avoiding. Also in a neighborhood we said we didn't like. Our original agent had quit speaking at this point, and the driver's idea of showing an apartment was to plop down in the guy's recliner and telling us to ""Go ahead, look around."" They struck another apartment off the list because it was also in a neighborhood we didn't like. At this point my girlfriend snuck a look at the list and saw that only one of the five apartments had no fee. They didn't have the keys for the third apartment they showed us. So, after two hours of our time, we had seen one apartment that was out of our budget. Our agent said he would call next day with more listings; didn't. We took a place that day, he finally called the next. Everyone we dealt with was very nice though. Pros: very friendly Cons: overpriced properties, disorganized, not up-front more
