Terrible experience. Pro tech was used for nationwide roadside assistance. I waited until the eta time came and called to see where they were. They were very rude, told me 15 mins and hung up. This several times for 3 hours before I cancelled the request. If using roadside assistance, request a different company more

Horrible communication and most of all DONT APPLY FOR A JOB 12/20/2011

On 10/04/2011 I had a job interview with the owner, Vincent Cuttone, of Pro-Tech Towing. I was hired at $9.00 p/h and told to report on Monday, Oct. 10th. Columbus Day. I showed up and everything went good. I spoke with the owner on numerous occasions throughout the day and reassured him that there weren’t any problems and I liked what I was doing. Around 5:30 PM the assistant manager(?) came up to me and told me that he got a phone call from the insurance company saying that I couldn’t be hired because I got a speeding ticket 9 years ago. They must be real special because every other insurance company in the state was closed due to the holiday. They had almost a week to inform me of the so-called phone call. I was aggravated but seeing as there’s not much that can be done, I left. I have returned 2 and sometimes 3 times a week asking for a check but every time I show up Vinny is busy or he cant come to the phone and there going to look into it and get back to me and basically every excuse made to avoid giving me a check. Being out of work a days pay isn’t much but it is something. I didn’t have any problems and the kid that trained me actually told me that I was one of the smarter ones as far as training future employees is concerned. My background is in the automotive repair field. The BBB in Mass. doesn’t handle employer/employee situations and of the 5 complaints that they have on file, Pro Tech hasn’t answered or responded to any of them. It seems Mr. Cuttone doesn’t like talking to people. I filed a complaint with the Fair Labor Division of The Attorney Generals Office but to my surprise, Pro Tech hasn’t responded to any of there requests. As of right now everything is at a standstill. Mass. law states that you cannot file small claims until 90 days after they are done with there investigation unless they give you a notice in writing within that time allowing you to proceed further. I was also told that if I do file in small claims I am entitled to triple damages. Triple, not treble, which is something completely different. I was also told by another kid that was being trained that he lasted 4 days and is now having the same problem. I guess this is common practice for the company to cut overhead and keep payroll down. more

if you have a choice, choose someone else 2/12/2011

I needed my car towed and the job was passed to protech by roadside assistance. I was told they'd be there at 1:45. They got there early...which might have been great,e xcpet I was relying on the bus to meet them at my car and was in the process of walking to the meeting spot. They called me at 1:26 and again at 1:30. When I called them back at 1:31, they said, ""Well, where were you? We called and called and waited and waited, and you never showed up. So now you need to start the whole process again."" Seriously? Needing to have your car towed is stressful enough. You show up early, wait 4 minutes, then when the person calls back 1 minute later you're too far away to come back and get the car? That's the caring and understanding attitude I needed today. Thanks, guys. If you have a choice, choose someone else. If you call roadside assistance, request anyone else. more

Great Towing 6/19/2009

My motorcycle broke down on a Friday afternoon in the rain. Called my MoTow (AAA for bikes), and they sent these guys. While I waited, I looked up the other reviews and and they were horrible. So expecting the worst, the driver called me 10 minutes before arriving just I was told, and he had everything he needed: a flatbed, a front wheel chock, and tie down straps. He took great care with my bike, both loading it and unloading it at home. On the way, he even was careful to avoid potholes and any roughness that would cause undue stress to the upright bike. All good in my book. Pros: Responsive and careful Cons: other reviews were bad more

worthless...and broke part of my car 6/10/2009

Called Volkswagen roadside assistance just for a tire pull off and spare tire put on. They sent ProTech. First driver said that the 'key' that was needed to take the flat tire off wasn't in the kit, and that only dealerships have them and that I wasn't going to be able to get one (at 9pm on a Wednesday.) He drove off. I looked in the kit and the key was right there. I called them back and said send another driver. The second driver spoke very broken English that I could onl make out a few words of. He did at least tell me that the first driver had worked for them for 15 years and was probably being lazy. Great. Then He put the jack in the wrong spot and there was a loud crunch/crack sound as the car visibly lowered by about 6 inches. Great. After he changed the tire and left I felt in the area where the jack had been put and there are broken pieces of plastic sticking out. Great. Then the second driver pulled up next to me as I walked to the near by hotel and started asking me all kinds of personal questions that creeped-me-out. I would only recommend this place to people I hate, because they messed things up in every way I can think of. I give them one star because it wouldn't allow me to give them zero. Cons: lying, non-english speaking, time wasting, auto damaging. more

lying cheating scumbags 5/18/2009

they came out on a AAA towing job. I was told 45 minutes, but it was a full 3 hours before they showed up. the driver said he would need assistance in the form of ""skates"" to properly tow my car and that it might take another hour to get someone out to help but no need for me to wait, he'd take care of everything. I said great, thanks, tipped him $20, and went on my way. An hour later, I got a call from AAA seeking confirmation that i'd canceled my request! I said ""no"", and they said that there muct have been a mix-up, but they'd make sure Protech finished the job. Didn't hear anything for a couple hours so I called Protech. they said that their driver had told them I'd sent him away and that if I had a problem with that, I should call AAA member relations and file a complaint (and no, their driver absolutely didn't take any $20 tip), no further conversation necessary. (apparently they decided that doing the tow as a AAA job wasn't worthwhile to them.) anyway, they advertise as being family-owned and service-oriented, but it's clearly a family of lying disrespectful thieves with no concern whatsoever about how their level of ""service"" is perceived. one star is what they get, assuming that is the required minimum level for vermin. Pros: none that are apparent Cons: please refer to headline more

Absolutely Awful - do not use under any circumstances 12/17/2008

If it were possible to give them less than one star, I would. Absolutely the worst automotive experience I have ever had. My car was towed there because it broke down on 128. In retrospect, I should have taken my chances there.\r \r They were every terrible stereotype of a bad mechanic you could possibly ask for. Aggressive, rude, sexist, you name it. There should be a special place in hell for Shamee. \r \r Under no circumstances go there. Really. Awful mechanic. Cons: awful people, bad quality work, never use under any circumstances more
