On Saturday,September 16th , my A/C unit stopped pumping cold air . On Sunday I called a few companies and decided to go with Penguin Air. I figured they were honest since they were associated with Channel 3&5. Biggest mistake of my adult life . Zeb Spencer was the technician . He seemed knowledgeable and went up on the roof . He said the system was void of Freon(R22). He said he could check for a leak and refill the system with some stop leak , that he would put and some ultra violet dye to see where the leak was $1000.00 . I told him I would pass and give him his $99 service call . I explained to him that I had been off work since November last year with congestive heart failure and in Bankruptcy to save home .This was my first full check and I could not give it all to him . So when he came down off the ladder he told me he could lower the price to $600.00 he then went down to $500.00 because of hardship. He had told me on the roof that everything looked okay otherwise . So I agreed to let him do the work . This is a paperless company , so everything is on his cell phone . He wanted my credit card instantly , I have never paid anyone up front but he seemed to want it first I was not given any reason . He me sign 4 or 5 signature pages on his phone . Never showed me any type of documents . Told me he would email me everything. By the time I got to the back of the house , he was already filling the unit with freon. I was very surprised because he had done nothing to find the leak . So he came down and said he put 8.9 pounds of freon into the unit and still didn’t have good pressure or temperature. He went up and put a cap on something and stated he was going to look for the leak and the ultra violet dye . He came back down as I stood in doorway expecting some sort of explanation , He drove off . The unit had already stopped working , they had my $500.00 and I had nothing. more

Bait & Switch should be their logo. Advertised free a/c tune up. The 'free tuneup' turned into a $7,000 estimate. . more

Had a plumbing service a year ago, they solved the problem but was over priced not honoring the prices on there website They then cold called me a year later about my HVAC claiming it needs service (which they wouldnt know since they DIDNT DO ANYTHING WITH IT) And now they are harassing me because i left them a negative review on ..... more

This company apparently does not care that their employees are carrying assault rifles in their company vans. I witnessed one worker getting ready to leave for work and was putting a AR in the company van without even being in a gun case. Be careful hiring this company. more

Michael and Riley were great. They called to let me know they were running late and did not try to sell me anything since my home is in good condition. I appreciated the great friendly customer service and the suggestions they made and even their help in trying to figure out how to adjust the water hardness for my water system. more

Michael came out early with an assistant. At first I thought there would be some extra charges since he could not find a clean out but this man and his can do attitude cleaned the drain from a removed toilet. He also ran a camera to see if any other blockage was present. Thanks for going above and beyond for the customer. Will be useing this company again for sure. more

Rafael and Matthew replaced our flexible ducting from our AC/Heating unit to the vents in our house. The work that they did and needed to do, to accomplish that job, was in a dirty and confining space. They both tackled and completed the job quickly and very professionally. Rafael is very knowledgeable, patient, helpful and a VERY good teacher (role model). Matthew, from our perception, is newer to this field; but is very willing to listen, learn and also is patient and helpful. The most important qualities that we liked and admired about them was their positive attitudes, patience of answering our questions and the most important was their POSITIVE PEOPLE SKILLS. Recent interactions with other service type of people, the other people were rude, short of patience, and they treated us as being very ignorant people, which we are NOT. We definitely would recommend both of these young men for future service for us and for others. more

I contacted Penguin Air for an A/C Spring check up, using a Groupon that I had recently purchased. The appointment process was quick and easy. Prior to an on the day of the appointment I was notified by Penguin Air as a reminder. My service tech, Nemia , called when he was about 20 minutes from my house. Anemia was extremely polite, respectful and qualified. Within a short time he was explaining to me (with pictures he had taken) the status of my air exchanger. He indicated the problems and his concerns and offered several solutions. There was no pressure, his only concern was what was best for our particular situation. Once I gave the ok to start the work, I was surprised that he was able to begin immediately and was completed within a couple of hours. My wife came home after the work was started and Nemia took the time to explain the problem he discovered and the benefits of the "scrubber" he was installing. Nemia was exceptional, I would highly recommend him and Penguin Air. more
