This company is bad news. They are taking advantage of the trusting consumer and overcharging them. For example, say you have an air conditioning system and you need additional refrigerant. Pacific Aire will charge you $155.00 per pound. What do the competitors charge? A mere $$25 to $45 per pound of refrigerant. If your system is like mine, that is over a thousand dollars compared to $315. Don't beleive me, just call Pacific Aire and ask for their price. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. JUST ABOUT ANY OTHER COMPANY WILL TREAT YOUR BETTER THAN THIS ONE. DON'T BE TAKEN TO THE CLEANERS LIKE I WAS. more

Do not use this company, Scam Artists. I'm not sure if the Technitians are on commision, but they kept telling me my unit has different things not working. They convinced me to replace parts on my unit to be able to fix my heater. My AC was working fine before they came to fix my heater, and then my AC was no longer working, they ran some test right infront of me trying to convince me that I needed to spend another $350.00 to repair my AC, I had already paid them $700. in the other parts they told me I needed. I was so upset I called their supervisor over them ruining my AC, so they sent a different Technician, and whala, they Ac all of sudden worked. more

Find a more reputable company 6/17/2012

Be very careful about this company. We were not at all pleased with their service and they have caused us a lot of grief, wasted time and money. Their advertising looks like it's a little mom and pop shop but it's not, and if anything goes wrong there is no way that you will ever get a chance to talk to the owner about it to sort it out. You'll just get smarmy "managers" giving you no satisfaction for the problem their technician and their system of screwing the customer has caused. more

Great Service! 4/6/2012

I had a technician out to check my furnace that wasn't working and they did a great job! You can actually get a liver person to talk to when you call. From the friendly call center people that called me to let me know the technician was on his way to the actual technician that showed up it was an overall great experience. I would definitely use them again. more

The old capacitor trick 2/22/2012

This company is way overpriced. I too fell for the bad capacitor now please pay $250 trick. Not knowing better until I did my research, they should not scam customers like this. Just read the Better Business Bureau complaints and the Yelp complaints. All the same overpriced capacitor. Really disgusting. more

Don't fall for it 2/21/2012

Like so many other Pacific Aire customers I fell pray to their $250 capacitor trick. Not knowing better I took their word and paid it. Then discovered the thing costs $40 and less than 5 miuntes to replace. A brain surgeon charges less per minute. There are other companies that don't gouge their customers and I recommend you look elsewhere. And yes, I was an Elite member until this happened. Read the complaints on the Better Business Bureau and you will see there are many others that fell for their charades. more

I had this company do a service on my air conditioning recently. The tech told me that my heat exchanger had a crack in it and the whole system needed replacing. Apparently the heat exchanger is the compartment where the heating takes place. The tech said he wanted a second oppinion so he had his supervisor come out and look at it. They both agreed i needed a new unit. Anyways, something didnt sound right with there diagnosis. The cost to replace the unit was ridiculous. I called another company to give me a second opinion. This company could not find anything wrong with the unit. They took the whole unit apart so i could take pictures. The heat exchanger looked brand new. Upon calling Pac Air for an explanation they stated that sometimes their guys can overlook things..! You kidding me? Anyhow, hope this helps you! more

BEWARE OF RIDICULOUSLY HIGH PRICES! 12/22/2010

They sell it like you are joining a country club instead of replacing a furnace! Various levels of memberships with different priviliges, etc. It takes a 90 minute sales presentation to get to the price. After receiving their quote, I found the price of the identical furnace online. After subtracting the price of the equipment from the total price quoted, I determined that they were going charge me $4,100 for installation, which they described as "a half-day job." If you buy from them, I've got a time-share in Mexico which I'd like to sell to you! more

Dishonest pricing,  they use a service contract ploy, first present with repair price 2x market price, then offer discount -that's over narket price if you accept a service contract. Finally negotiated a fair price, then they add $79 service fee- Avoid Pac Aire more

A Great Experience 11/11/2010

When our old furnace died, a family friend recommended Pacific Aire. Today, we are grateful he did, because they are an amazing company. Honestly, the service was so beyond anything we expected that if I didn't get off my lazy butt and write a good plug for these guys I'd feel guilty. When we had some technical issues, they had service technicians there right away, and they dealt with the problem until we were 100% satisfied. You hear "satisfaction guaranteed" thrown around a lot these days, but this company really, really means it. It's a great business with outstanding workers and I can confidently recommend them to anyone. more

I was very satisfied with Pacific Aire. They guy they sent out, Jay, was very thorough, both inside and out. He did a really good job cleaning the furnace and AC unit. The price was fair, they were very thorough, and they did a really good job. more

Great technician! 7/14/2010

The technician from Pacific Aire who came to do the service, David, was so polite and knowledgeable. He was great. He had perfect manners, and was friendly. He even covered his feet with slippers when he came into the house. That was very convenient. I have 2 kids, and he was very nice to them. David took a picture inside of the air conditioning unit and explained everything to me. He cleaned the filter and showed me the old one. He also saw that some of the insulation was torn and securely taped it. It didn't need to be replaced, and he showed me the pictures of before and after the repair. That made me feel like he was not doing anything to rip us off. He was very forthcoming. David also explained the customer package at Pacific Aire and how it would benefit us. That way they could come out to check the heater for us regularly. I would say that I am usually pretty jaded and cynical about service in this day and age. It is rare to find a company that really comes through more than you thought. I felt that way after the experience with Pacific Aire-they really came through. It was well worth it. I called Pacific Aire because of a promotion letter they sent us. I have gotten other promotions, but the way this one was written sounded believable. They were believable as a company as well. They did better than I thought or expected. Some of that is because of their company policies, and some if it is because they hire people like David as a technician. more

I had Noel service my (2) air conditioners for summer use yesterday, 06/12/10. Noel was outstanding in his thoroughness, knowledge and especially was extremely clean. I was extremely happy with my experience. I look forward to having Noel be my service tech from now on. more

Hard working company. 5/24/2010

My attic space is small, so I was glad the crew was able to maneuvre around in it. The installation went without any problems. The crew worked hard and kept my house clean during the removal of the old unit and ductwork.It appeared that the technicians were well trained and knew their stuff. I guess it should not have surprised me as during the initial consultation it was more of an analysis and troubleshooting exercise, rather then trying to upsell me. Thank you for looking out for me. In February we purchased a furnace to replace our old unit. Pacific Aire installed it and replaced all ductwork plus dampers. We were so pleased with this system that we purchased another completely new system for our rental unit. more
