Reservation woes 10/27/2007

For my birthday I was excited to try something new and picked nine75 as my restaurant. I sent out an Evite to get an idea of how many people to expect at my table and then went to make my reservation. I was a bit taken aback when I came to find that I was required to provide my credit card to secure my reservation (not too terrible) but for each person that did not show for my dinner party I would be charged on MY credit card $20. When i expressed concern regarding this matter they kindly apologized but stood by their ""company policy"". more

Maybe worth one visit 9/9/2007

The atmosphere is fun and I liked the 'open kitchen' feel. The host and wait staff were all very friendly and the service was good....not great, but good. \r \r I was with a large group and the chefs offered to 'order for us' and provide us with a sampling of their 'best offerings'. Others in the group went for this, a few didn't. I was VERY glad I didn't go with the 'offering' since in retrospect it seemed a ploy to really hike up the bill. I had the tomato/mozarella salad (decent sized), lobster tacos (tapas/small) and a glass of wine....around $50 for my dinner with tax and tip. It was tasty, but very over priced. Those that let the chefs select their meal ended up shelling out about $80 a piece....OUCH.\r \r The two things that really did it in for me though were the ladies restroom, which was a disaster (paper towels all over the floor, no soap, floor wet in multiple spots) and the fruit flies which were everywhere...back by the bar and at our dinner table. These last two things really are unacceptable....a manager should always make sure someone is doing regular restroom checks. The fruit flies? To me that just say 'not clean'. Pros: Atmosphere, Unique and Tasty Food Cons: Over-priced, not particularly clean more

Best Southern Country food with an upscale flair 8/20/2007

I love this place. The corn chowder is awesome. the fried chicken, yum!\r The back bar is a great place to relax and have a drink with 80's music Pros: Delicious Cons: Pricey more

One of the best! 8/6/2007

Love their food, the service has always been great. One time our waiter had the smallest attitude but I let it go because the food made up for it. I love the cucumber water and when my boyfriend didn't they had no problem getting him a glass of normal water and when he ordered a gin martini only in a rocks glass with no ice and they brought it to him with ice they had no problem fixing the problem (my boyfriend is kind of ""that guy"" sometimes). I just love it love it love it. more

Great for large groups 8/4/2007

With its sleek decor, eclectic menu and rock n roll theme, everyone's sure to find at least something to obsess over at this Golden Triangle favorite. They like to think of themselves as serving American comfort food with a jazzed up twist. Others agree. It's impossible not to rave about the spicy Mac n Cheese ($6), or the Kobe beef sliders ($15). If those are too crazy for you, stay on the signature side of things and try the Miso marinated Black Cod ($23) or the Lobster Tacos ($12). \r \r For the rest of this review, go to: \r \r SoStyleydotcom Pros: Service, Ambience more

cool decor 6/28/2007

I came here around 6pm on a Saturday night. If you come that early, you probably don't need a reservation. We ordered the fish special for the night. None of us ordered any side dishes because the waiter failed to inform us that none of the dishes came with any sides--not even veggies or a bread plate for the table. The food was delicious, but the quantity of food was lacking for what we paid. Service was good (other than failing to inform us of the lack of sides with entrees). The decor of the restaurant was interesting. I didn't necessarily have a bad experience, but I probably won't come back for dinner. The quantity of food just wasn't worth the price we paid. Pros: cool decor Cons: not enough food for the prices we paid more

A place you should definitely try 1/3/2007

I really like this place. I've been here for dinner three times now, and I hosted my birthday party in the back bar. The food is really great, although the menu is absolutely ALL OVER THE PLACE. It really defies logic, but thankfully, everything I've had has been terrific. The mini tacos were the huge favorite at my party and the California Roll sushi item is unique and tasty. You really feel like the chef has put a lot of pride into the food you're eating. The bar in the back is super slick -- makes you feel like you're in Vegas or New York. For dinner, I recommend the booths that line the wall between the front dining room and the back bar -- they actually feel rather intimate. Service is good (not amazing, but good). Nine75 is a terrific downtown alternative to DOWNTOWN. Parking is easier to find, and you get all the ""cool"" of a more downtown location. If you plan a group gathering here, be sure to INSIST that you get the ""couch area"" at the back of the bar. Pros: Food, location, overall experience, easy parking. Cons: Service ""on"" some nights more than others. more

Overrated 11/28/2006

Atmosphere is strange - sort of a 1980s nightclub. Loud 80s pop music and garish decor. Service was very good. The menu is eclectic, which can be good, but I thought the food was mediocre. The lobster tacos were good, not great. The jarring thing is the price. Way too expensive!\r \r In general, would avoid. If you want comfort with an updated twist, go to Steuben's. Table 6 is another good option with better food and atmosphere. Pros: Service Cons: Price more

Yum! 11/22/2006

Good combination of lounge/bar and fun restaurant experience. Interesting menu, tasty dishes and reasonable prices for a trendy place. We have always had great service and timely seating. From a diner for two to a Birthday bash for 22, we have always enjoyed the variety starting from oysters as an appetizer to a meatloaf for main course. If you are up for a variety comfort food, 975 is the place to check out! Pros: Location, parking, ambiance and service more

great times, great food! 9/20/2006

Talk about fun! We had been hearing about nine75 for some time now and finally made it there. After hearing about the concept and the journey that is nine75, our server suggested letting her \r do the ordering for us. Without hesitation we all handed in our menus. For the next hour we were served perfectly paired plates of the most amazing food. \r \r My suggeestion-get there quickly, take advantage of the knowledgable staff, sit back, relax and enjoy the ride! more

Great things come in pairs!! 8/11/2006

The ambiance is inviting and even a bit sensual. We started our evening with a shared chopped salad. The waiter was kind enough to replace the ranch dressing with the house asian dressing. YUM!! We moved on to a few small plates. Yellow tail sashimi and lobster tacos. All I can say is that was the quite possibly the best food ""O"" I ever had. The yellowtail was lightly seared and dipped in a sesame and chili dressing. The lobster tacos were layered on top of homeade guacamole. The flavors can not even be described. They were both so good we decided to order another round of the same items. Did I mention the mojitos and tantra martinini's. Let's just say the tantra martini had a special after affect on us. We'll be back!! Pros: Lobster tacos Cons: Nada more

Pretentious and over-priced 4/14/2006

Had we paid half the price for the food we may have gone back. The fried chicken was basically chicken fingers at about $16, and the meatloaf, though good, was worth $7 not $14. The black veneers peeling off the walls and buckling hardwood floors spoke of a place thrown together quickly. The wait staff was over accommodating and seemed afraid?!?! The calamari, though short on the squid, was unique and very good. And the presentations were all excellent. Asparagus was very good. Pros: Presentation Cons: Pretentious, Over Priced more

Wonderful First Experience 2/24/2006

The food was unique and flavorful. We had four small plates, six alcoholic drinks and dessert with espresso for about $120 and were very satisfied. The seafood pasta was rich and filling, the won ton tuna tacos were heaven, but the kobe carpaccio was average at best. The grapefruit mojito was very light and refreshing and the wines by the glass were reasonable starting at $7. Our server Eric was knowledgable and very attentive. We headed to the back bar after dinner and loved the atomosphere and music. Will definitely return. Pros: Great atmosphere Cons: Expensive more

My fiancee and I came here for Valentine's Day and had the best dinner! The moment we walked in the waitstaff was very attentive and friendly. We had a drink in the lounge first, where the lighting was very romantic and unique. We were promptly seated at our quoted reservation time and were served immediately by our wonderful waitress, Lori. The food was phenomenal, especially the romaine lettuce wedge with bleu cheese-- to die for! The chef had prepared a special menu for Valentine's Day, which included wine pairing. The wine selections were perfect and very enjoyable. Our Valentine's Day was the best ever! Pros: Service, Food, Ambiance Cons: Expensive drinks, Close seating more

It's a hit! Not to be missed.... 2/4/2006

I spend the majority of my life traveling for business, therefor most of my meals are in restaurants. I have dined in some of the best restaurants all over the world. I have experienced five star service, serving me five star food pared with some amazing wines. Generaly I roll my eyes when I come to places like Denver but after visiting Nine75 the only thing that was making my eyes roll was pure satisfaction. I was feed five+ star food by a staff that provided 5+ star service without an ounce of stuffiness. Nine75 is a breath of fresh air. Pros: Service, Food, Options Cons: busy more

nine75 4 ever.... 12/29/2005

As someone who dines out more frequently than at home ( I think my stove has been turned on once...) I have noticed that in a city full of wonderful little bistros and eateries, the full combination of excellent service, perfect atmosphere and food to die for is virtually impossible to come by...especially at the right price. nine75 is the first exception to this little Denver rule, as it ruefully carries out all three with precision and flare. As for the fare: Best mac and cheese I've ever had in my life; the charred tuna melts in your mouth and let's not forget the lemon grass chicken...homestyle but with a splash of southeastern asian vinagrette...do not be one of the lost....find yourself or a piece of your inner child at nine75. Pros: valet parking more

Crazy Good : ) 9/25/2005

Chef Troy and his entourage put on a most memorable show for my birthday. Walked into the restaurant and were seated promptly. There was a birthday card signed by all of the staff...nice touch. We feasted upon some of the most wonderful. comforting, inventive dishes. We had a glorius mouthful of practically everything on the menu, from incredible tapas, chicken soup is to die for! Family style is the way to go if you have a crowd! Try as many different things as you can when you dine here. Each bite is truly amazing. I could go on and on about the food, but the restaurant itself is stunning in it's design as well. Too cool. Well done Nine75! Bravo! I'll be back. Great bar and barstaff. Mmmm. Mojitos! ~(8^(|) more

Rockin good place for eats!! 8/19/2005

very impressed with everything, especially the food. Troy Guard is a wonderful chef, and the waitstaff is very hip and helpful. The HOT handtowels are a nice touch and the grapefruit mojitos are a must. Pros: fun, delicious, place2Be Cons: loud more

Sample fare 8/19/2005

We were promptly seated and the waitstaff was most responsive. They have been reading the reviews on this site. The restaurant concept and menu was explained thoroughly. Our group ordered a half-dozen tapas plates to share and two entrees (for a party of four). It was fun sampling the tapas plates including the chicken pot pie empanadas, the lobster tacos, and the seafood ravioli. We ordered the chicken and meat loaf for entrees. The atmosphere was great and the crowd fun to watch. We were the more senior of the crowd but made to feel welcome and not out of place. We will take out of town company here. more

WOOO- HOOOO! 8/10/2005

ALL hail nine75! This place is a blast! My girlfriends and I had dinner here on Friday night and I we were blown away by the entire experience! From the minute we walked in the door, until the time we left, the ENTIRE experience was a perfect 10! Love the music, love the food, love watching the chaos in the kitchen (especially the chef), and the male staff- WOW! Where has nine75 been all of these years?! Pros: Food, Staff, Ambience more
