WORST MOVE EVER - NEIGHBORS MOVING SEATTLE \r
================== \r
Summary - \r
Avoid using this company unless you already personally know the moving crew. It's not worth the risk getting furniture damaged by unqualified movers and hassling with troublemaker crews. It's your stuff, your $$$ and well worth your time to check reviews before hiring these movers. Internet search for ""neighbors moving seattle"" returns several websites with many good/bad reviews.\r

My experience - \r
I used this company twice to move my stuff. 1st time in early 2007 and 2nd time at end 2011. The 1st time was great. I got an excellent 3 person crew with good training, good equipment. They showed up on time, were fast, careful & clean, everything you want from a moving company. This was why I called them back for a 2nd move which was dang near a total disaster. A 2 person idiot crew, the only training I could tell was their ability to mark time, call the boss and slam furniture around. Otherwise bad attitude, damaged furniture & uncaring pigs tracking pine needles into both apartments. 3 pieces of furniture were damaged, a chest of drawers, an end table and a 40lb firebox. The chest & table were torqued enough to loosen the wooden joints and pieces fell off. Both of these pieces were solidly built & survived many previous moves so it took some effort to damage them. The firebox hinge now has 1/2"" play in it & how this happened is beyond my understanding but I'm guessing criminal intent because 1 of the movers asked me questions like - is this a safe ? how strong is it ? gdmn those 2 fckwits to hell.\r

More details - \r
For some reason these 2 clowns wrapped a few furniture pieces in blankets but did not wrap the sofas & mattress in the plastic sheeting and put the cushions on the floor, ditto the mattress. I had to actually ask them to wipe their feet before entering my new apartment and the older guy put a wrap down at the door. My expensive tongue/groove bed rails were stacked on end instead of flat, putting pressure on the metal tongues. The younger guy was mr.macho carrying a heavy table with 1 hand, stacking 5-6 boxes on some cheapo handtruck instead of being more careful and making more trips with fewer boxes and banging the handtruck down the steps as fast as he could. The handtruck did not have a canvas support strap so this is how the chest & table were damaged being torqued for lift. The older guy got me to sign paperwork & pay visa bill before unloading the damaged chest.\r

Alternatives - \r
Always a question of how careful you should watch the movers. I already knew there was going to be trouble after 10 minutes of watching these 2 idiots. Do I go into whip cracking slave driver and start busting their chops every 5 minutes ? I figured that would lead to worse problems so I watched what I could, was polite, paid the bill with reasonable cash tip and then started complaining to the company & on the internet. \r
\r
Should I have cancelled the 2nd move and called the company to get those 2 idiots out of here ? Possible mistake to let them continue but it is expensive to cancel because I already terminated/signed apartment leases & rescheduling movers. Now I have damaged furniture & some fading stress being pissed off at this crappy crew so it was a tradeoff between damaged furniture or cancellation costs. \r

Company -\r
This company was eager to get the job scheduled, take my deposit & verify the move date 2 days before but then after the move when I emailed complaints about crappy service no replies. After I posted some negative reviews on internet I finally got email from them replying that my curse filled emails were whacked by their spam filter (heh) and they offered to start the claims process for my damaged furniture which I declined because not worth hassling with this company anymore & my furniture is still usable so likely small $$ payouts etc.\r
