It is so true, and I am very sorry for all of us who needed to witness the weirdest and uncivil service and attitude for the hard earned money during our – also earned –vacations. What I want to say: there are so many English speaking travel agencies in New York city with the solid reputations. Just do your own research on the internet and ask your co-workers Americans. In every business which offers services mistakes or inaccuracies may happen; however, there is a guarantee that you will not be humiliated by their tour guides as new tours’ employees do. Just wondering: does the owner or whoever runs this agency really thinks that someone will believe in the positive reviews been posted on here? Oh, well, when a business owner offers fake service, then you should expect fake positive reviews as well. more

Wonderful China. China was great, New Tours - Terrible!!!!! 12/2/2011

“Exclusive super tour, luxury class” – that what caught my attention when I opened New Tours website. The tour was priced higher than similar tours to China offered by other agencies. I decided to spend extra money, of which I do not have much, in order to have assured peace of mind and quality of service, food, and of the entire trip. The beginning was good . Then we were introduced to Alexei, tour director, who would escort us for the rest of the tour. Alexei’s Russian was extremely poor; it was not sufficient at all to conduct tours and present important information about history, culture, and art of such great culture as China. Alexei was absolutely not prepared for the tour; he did not have either notes, or knowledge. I realized that our tour was ruined. I would not learn anything I wanted to learn, what I was so looking forward to learn and experience about the culture, history, and custom of China. I simply followed him and looked around. Hotels were 4 stars, no one was 5 stars, as we were promised. Also they were located far away from tourist attractions. We went to hotel after dinner, and that was the end of our day. I would have loved to take a walk after dinner in Shanghai or other places!!! I’ve just made an Internet search, and GateOne agency offers a hotel just 0.5 miles from a main shopping street in Shanghai. Meals were three times a day. According to the itinerary, breakfasts would be in the hotels, lunches – in restaurants of Chinese cuisine, and dinners would be after arriving to the hotel . Lunches and dinners were in cheap Chinese diners. Only once we had a dinner in the hotel! One more thing was wrong: the tips for drivers and tour guides were collected two day after we arrived. I believe it was not right. I would never give the tour guide a tip for his service. I believe I have to contact NY officials to inform them about unacceptable services that were provided by New Tours. more

I hate the New Tours for their TIPS demands! We paid our money for all things including payment of the driver and the guide before the trip! Why does the guide demand the additional $5 TIPS from each person of the group in the end of any trip?!?!?! It is a CRIME and AGAINST THE LOW! We give additional $100 to the driver and $100 to the guide for any trip! But we paid before the trip and that is all! They do real extortion and robbery each time! 4-day tour to Cape Cod 9/6/2011

I reserved a 4-day trip to Cape Cod in mid of July for September 1. On the first week of August, Dmitriy - New Tour's employee, called me and asked me to leave a deposit or pay in full. I told him that I would pay on Wednesday, August 10, which I did. On Monday, August 29, a lady from this agency called me and asked if I preferred to share a room with another lady - I paid for single occupancy - I refused. On the same day, I called the hotel which was listed on new tours web-site and where we supposed to stay to find out if I would have lodging in a single room. This was OK. On Tuesday, August 30, Ada, new tours agent, called me after 8PM and left a message on my cell. New Tours office is open till 7PM on weekdays. I returned her call on Wednesday, August 31, at 8AM and she told me they did not have enough people for big bus and I would travel small bus for 16 people or I could switch my trip for Saturday. I told her that I already took days off and they should notified me ahead of time - plus they already made the reservation at the hotel. I told Ada that I did not want to travel in the small bus due to motion sickness. Ada called me at 10AM on Wednesday and tried to convince me to have other tour or have this tour on another day - which was not possible since Tuesday, September 6 was a workday. Ada told me that she had a sick father and because of me she went to work. When I asked her why I was not notified about the bus size on Monday when someone called me about the room, she replied that they cannot provide such info otherwise their boss would fire them. I asked Ada if this bus has a luggage department and she told that she did not know and she needed to find out. I called her around 12PM on the same day and she told me that they would find a space to put my luggage. When I asked what about the luggage of 15 other people, she did not reply. Ada told me that she would call me in 1230 with more info. She did call me. She tried to promise me that she personally would sit me in the bus, without consideration that she would not be able to do so, bus was leaving at 6:45 AM and I my bus pick-up place was not Brighton Beach. I told her that I would cancel my trip and take the money. At 1PM after I told Ada about my decision, Mila - another employee called me and asked me if I want to switch my trip to another day and she also gave me the news about small bus. I went to this agency on Wednesday, August 31, and was managed to get my money back. more

Horrible Service...Luck of Knowledge 8/24/2011

We were very disappointed by two-day tour to Niagara Falls. Of course, I don't mean Niagara Falls itself, because this is absolutely beautiful scenery! However, the service is way below North American standards. First of all, it took driver 12 hours to get to Niagara Falls! Seriously? 400 miles with 65 miles limit? NO traffic on the highway!!! Should've taken 7 hours...the same as promised on New Tours website. The second, the tour-guide (Irina) was so unprofessional and had luck of knowledge regarding this excursion. The other lady, Galina, is no better. She asked us how was the tour and when we answered that we were not happy with really long drive; reply was, “What did you expect? You had nothing else to do in any way". Really? Is that how you talk to people? They stole tourists' time to enjoy the Falls. I guess, it is normal practice for this company. My family planned to take 3 more tours with New Tours within next couple weeks and, perhaps, in the nearest future. However, after this horrible experience, we will never use their service again...will NEVER advise to use their company to many of my friends. I am glad I paid only for one tour and didn't book others in advance. There is so much room for the improvement in their customer service!!! And perhaps, they should send their tour-guide to learn a little bit more of history at list in the area of the tour she is providing. more

Niagara Falls tour 5/10/2011

Hi guys, I was with New Tours in 2009 year. My friend and I bought 2-day Niagara Falls tour. Frankly, we were very satisfied. The guide Anvar was excellent. He told us amazing information about Niagara Falls. On the road, he told us other different information about America, New York and Canada. The bus was super comfortable and was with us everywhere all the time. The hotel was located very close to Niagara Falls. And the hotel room was very comfortable. We were lucky. That day, we saw firework show. New Tours's website is very comfortable; I ordered and paid the tour via their website. I didn't have to go to the office and wait, wait on the phone on hold. I received all info, pick up location, time and TOUR VOUCHER by email. IT IS GREAT. EVERYTHING WAS very easy and simple. I am planning to go to Washington and Boston with New Tours. I recommended and still recommend New Tours to all my friends. EFFECTIVE, GREAT RUSSIAN SPEAKING GUIDES, EXCELLENT SERVICE... What else do you need??? Try it for yourself. :) more

Fairy tale about Nelya 9/8/2010

My first trip with the agency was in 1998. In 2005 I had an excursion to Vermont. Tour guide was just ruthless. For instance, when I asked a simple question about Sterling and Francine Clark museum, she snapped in offensive tone of voice and facial expression while shaking whole her body. I confirm: the question was about the museum, but the answer I received was about... my racial identity. I did not say a word to her, but decided: it is enough; there are many other agencies will charge my money for the service, but humiliation. After five years, in 2010, I came to the agency again. Bella and Yana did impossible: I got trip to Cape Cod: 2 nights staying by myself in the hotel room and 3 nights to share with another woman. At the time of departure I found that a tour guide is Nelya the one which disgraced me 5 years ago. She said that according to her note I will stay 2 nights with someone, and the rest by myself. In other words the opposite of what I was told in the office. I did not consider it as a problem at all, but mentioned that was told different. The remark I have made went into something I did not expect. A man which stood next got aggravated, his face turned red, and he shouted at me: "You will not go at all!" (Evidently, it was said in Russian; I was told his name was Volodya). What position does he keep that allow him to yell at the client and dictate unreasonable and dishonorable conditions? If he is not qualified persona, it is OK; but he must know that this was not a place, where he could dictate his own terms. Do directors (owners) of the agency know that such episodes take place? Do they know what kind of people represent them and eventually the whole business? The tour guide contacted the agency later. When she put me on the phone with Bella, I did not have a chance to be heard for the reason that Bella could not bring her speech to an end. After that Nelya in a harsh tone of voice stated that I lied about staying by myself in the room. Until the end of first day there were eposides of how Nelya replied on questions have been asked by aged people which were first time on such trip. I confirm: she made improper comments, was rude and arrogant while putting others down for their inquires. On the next day morning, the entire group was in the bus and chatted while waiting for the tour guide. When Nelya just reached the first step in the bus, she grabbed a microphone and articulated: "Kto razgovarivaet?!" ("Who is talking?!") I replied politely: "I!" What Nelya said next has brought me finally to the resolution not to leave as nothing happened over again and let others know what the tour guide said in front of 36 people: "Zakroy rot!" ("Close your mouth!") Her face turned red, and she stated that the group is not going anywhere because I "destruct the tour since yesterday". Nelya said that she "called to the agency, and was told to call the police" on me. She claimed: "I am a volunteer! I work for free! I am going to write petition and all people will sign it!" Here are my statements. Being a volunteer is a norm in America. Millions of people do volunteer jobs, but it does not mean they possibly will do it unethically. If a tour guide is a volunteer, it does not mean she has rights to disregard consumers" questions about the services and treat them uncivilly by using inappropriate language and offensive facial expression and making false and humiliating accusations. If a tour guide is not able to obtain a paid job due to some reasons, it does not mean consumers have to pay with their money and dignity for her failure and unhappiness. Whoever will read the lines above: please tell Nelya that being a volunteer is not an excuse for humiliating and verbal harassing people you agreed to serve unpaid. more

Tour to Statue of Liberty 7/12/2010

We took a trip to a Statue of Liberty. First of all, a travel agent never mentioned that the tour did not include a visiting of the Statue of Liberty itself, and to the direct question, I received an abstract answer (which could meant both - yes and no). Our guide was Vladimir. From the very beginning he treated us as he was a leader of a Communist Party, and we must obey his rules. During the bus ride from one stop to another he was trying to tell us something interesting, but he was constantly distracted by his cell phone. It's OK, once or twice, but it was nonstop! Without any "Excuse me" or I'm sorry" he continued his speech. Every sentence he started with words: "My wife told..." or "Me and my wife went..." or "I told my wife", and etc. We were sick and tired or his WIFE. The trip was boring and lack of information. It's ended up by passing New Tours Agency and guide's comments that anybody who wants to travel with them again must go with him right now and pay. So, it's all about the money! Not recommend at all! Poor service! Pros: None Cons: Rip offs more

The Best Russian Language Tour Company 11/2/2009

This is the best Travel company on the Russian market. I went with New Tours all over. Used them for the past thirteen years and never had a problem. Have been to Canada, Boston, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Florida, Cape Cod California and Virginia with this company. I have received a great service from the time of purchase till I got off the bus. Have used other companies before and this company is beyond compare. Pros: Price, Service, Great Tour Guides!!! more

A nightmare trip to Niagara Falls If you are still considering New Tours for your next trip, look elsewhere. We bought a tour to Niagara Falls for a Labor Day weekend. It was a NIGHTMARE. It went wrong from the start. We were supposed to leave at 6AM from the Brighton Beach area. However, we left at 6:30AM. A group of tourists, as soon as our bus departed, started drinking vodka and yelling like crazy. They spilled coffee all over the bus. Then it gets worse. We did not even leave Brooklyn, as our bus stopped and it sounded like they could not start it again. As we found out, we were out of gas! The tank was empty! I don?t know what they were thinking when they were trying to get to Niagara Falls from Brooklyn with an empty tank. Some people from office brought a canister of gas but the bus still did not start because this time the battery died. As a result of that we wasted almost 4 hours of precious time we were supposed to be driving. After everything was fixed, we were told that we can choose to get off the bus on our next stop, in Queens, but nobody would give us our money back, we would only get a credit for the amount we paid for this trip with New Tours. In addition to that, the tour guide, Sasha, was saying nonsense like, for example, that Pocahontas died in Niagara Falls when she was offered as a human sacrifice to a god. Instead of giving us more time to admire the beauty of the falls, he dragged us to the middle of nowhere to some crappie convenient store to buy cheap cigarettes for those who smoke. He also told us not to go far from the bus while there because we are being watched by the Indians from the forest. If we do, they would kidnap us and do whatever they want. The funniest part was that he was serious. We did not go into the Cave of the Winds and we did not make a stop in the region of the Finger Lakes even though they were included as parts of the trip. more

THE WORST TOUR AGENCY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH 11/1/2007

I don't suggest anybody to every use NEW TOURS for any travel needs! What is promised to you regarding the package will most likely change by the time you actually go to your tour. In my grandma's case the tour bus that was suppose to take them from New York to Florida (keep in mind how long of a ride it is, comfort is the most important thing when traveling) was changed last minute to a small bus of 15 people, (their reasoning was that they didn't get enough people to fill up a normal size tour bus, where luggage goes on the bottom and has a bathroom right on the bus). The thing is they did not even tell people who bought this tour, until actual trip. As a result of this my grandmother had to suffer motion sickness the entire ride to Florida. Also they are completely not organized and do not follow a schedule as promised. For example they went to a theme park and did not tell people where to meet in case anybody gets lost, and the tour guide refused to share his cell-phone number in case somebody from the tour gets lost in the park and/or needs assistance. I am taking this matter to the credit card company (since the tour was paid through Visa), I am also getting in touch with consumer affairs. more
