Great service. 8/9/2010

Just wanted to drop you a note, thanking Dwayne Barker and Neerings for your great service. Saratoga Springs required me to take out the back flow unit I just recently had installed. Dwayne came out and fulfilled their request quickly and professionaly. He is an asset for your company to value vert much. He really knows plumbing and he doesn't waste time. He comes out, looks at the job, and he is done faster than any other plumber I have ever used. He is my plumber now, I will always request him for any plumbing needs. Thank you Neerings, for hiring such a professional employees to represent your company. more

They did a great job 7/6/2010

Just a quick thank you to Steve and Gary that came up to replace my aquastat controller two weeks ago. They did a great job and made sure we had heat for the weekend while they ordered a new controller for us. Thanks guys. more

dishonest, grreedy 6/26/2010

Do not do business with Neering's. They are incredibly greedy and dishonest in their pricing . I had them come to fix a leaky faucet, and they charged over $300 . They were only at the house a few minutes. It is very hard to believe a company can overcharge like this clowns. Do not do business with them. Do not even think of doing business with them. Cons: excessive charges more

Don't Let His Dad Fix That! 6/23/2010

I was a recently divorced woman who had just returned to work after taking 6 weeks off for surgery (in other words, I was vulnerable and broke) when my water heater went out. Naively thinking that plumbers would all charge about the same (give or take $100), I called this outfit because our previous plumber had recently retired and apparently sold his customer list to Neerings, who sent me a coupon good for $25 off. I was also impressed that they (Neerings) had been in business for so many years. My second biggest mistake (after falling for the bait) was not asking up front what they charge--I assumed it would be a fair price, based on the water heater's capacity and how long it took to install. Pros: I learned from the experience! Cons: I felt totally ripped off! more

Worst customer service ever 6/5/2010

I unfortunately called Neerings to come out and fix my food disposal. He told me how much it would be and I reluctantly decided to go with it. He pulled out a Popsicle stick and then charged me $166. He was honestly at my house for 5 minutes. Any legit, ethical company would laugh and the Popsicle stick and charge you maybe for the service call. But oh no, not Neerings. I was so pissed about it that I called and finally spoke with the service manager Brad at the office. He was very rude about it and asked me what I did for a living. He laughed about it when I told him that I'm a financial analyst and he called me a bean counter. I eventually spoke with Mr Neerings himself and he mentioned that they would give me $50 off my next service call. I told him that I will never call Neerings again. All of the reasons they justified for charging me this include the following: Their techs have four year degrees, expensive insurance, it's their way to stay competitive. This is all bullshit. They ripped me off and I will never call them again. I'll tell you what the Neerings dad won't be able to fix is the broken nose I give him if I ever see him. Somebody please tell me how I can get back at them or there is anywhere else I can voice my opinion. I felt sympathy for all the other negative comments I read. Notice that all the comments are negative except for maybe two. Pros: Nothing Cons: Dishonest, rude, unethical more

Neerings will charge you out the wazoo! 6/2/2010

My sewer line was broken under the street. I understand that it would be a 4 or 5 thousand dollar job to tear up the street, replace the line, and then put the pavement and gutter back in. I thought 4 or 5 thousand would still leave them a healthy profit margin for a 1 day job. Their original quote was $15,000!!!! The section they fixed was only 25 feet long and about 5 feet deep. I had already dug up all the line except under the city street. I also did the back fill and hauled the excess dirt away. For my part, they dropped their bid down to $11,800. I feel stupid because I signed the bid because I was desperate to get the job done and I had pulled them down as far as they would go. In hindsight I would definitely get 3 or 4 companies bidding the job. I think its pathetic to have to get a loan against my house to pay for a 1 day sewer repair job. I understand companies need to make a profit, but $12,000 is abusive. Apparently Neerings doesn't care for return customers, I'll never use them again. Pros: Got the job done timely Cons: Charged me $12,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

Good place to waste you hard earned cash 1/19/2010

Had neerings out for a service and I wish I had read the advice on this page sooner. The service will cost you dearly. It will be worth you time to shop around. Or better yet, have em come out to tell you what's wrong, then fix it yourself. It's HVAC, not rocket science. Why do they get paid more than doctors and physicists? more

worst business I've ever dealt with 1/11/2010

Neerings techs came to my house to replace a failed furnace ignitor. The $50 part turned into a $400 repair. The tech claimed the furnace was old and obsolete, thus the expense. It took them 20 min to turn a couple of screws and replace the ignitor. It took me two weeks to get an accounting of the repair form service manager Mike Dixon. He would not return my calls. I took off work to track him down. Turns out the bill was mostly labor, overhead ( to pay this guys salary ) and profit, $350 for a $400 part. Do yourself a favor and DON'T call Nerrings. Cons: expensive, dishonest more

The Grinch Who Stole Christmas 12/21/2009

The Neerings Plumbing and Heating techs may be more knowledgeable than other plumbing and heating companies (they came across that way to me and were kind to answer a few q's I had about my water softener), but they charged me $768 to fix a low tech condensation issue with my furnace. They made it sound like it would b...e a whole days work of pulling my whole furnace apart and not knowing what they actually needed to do exactly I agreed to the charge. Then seeing what they actually did and how long it took, it was very irritating. After only 2 1/2 hours of labor and only adding a few inexpensive PVC parts they were done - so I'm wondering why it cost $768. (This is Christmas week so hence ""the Grinch"" title of the review.) Despite their knowledge and helpfulness, I'll also add that the ""bedside"" manners were rather bothersome - using several explicatives in my presence, calling me ""homie"", berating every little thing in my home's mech room as being completely inferior work, and then talking about ""blowing smoke up my butt"" in front of my 4 y.o. and 2 y.o girls. I won't be calling them again. Pros: Knowledgable Cons: Over Priced, Bad Mannered more

very disapointed 11/30/2009

One of the absolute worst experiances in my life - do not let neerings into your home it will be a big mistake and cost you untold amounts of money Pros: none at all more
