Review content:
My sewer line was broken under the street. I understand that it would be a 4 or 5 thousand dollar job to tear up the street, replace the line, and then put the pavement and gutter back in. I thought 4 or 5 thousand would still leave them a healthy profit margin for a 1 day job.
Their original quote was $15,000!!!! The section they fixed was only 25 feet long and about 5 feet deep. I had already dug up all the line except under the city street. I also did the back fill and hauled the excess dirt away. For my part, they dropped their bid down to $11,800.
I feel stupid because I signed the bid because I was desperate to get the job done and I had pulled them down as far as they would go. In hindsight I would definitely get 3 or 4 companies bidding the job.
I think its pathetic to have to get a loan against my house to pay for a 1 day sewer repair job. I understand companies need to make a profit, but $12,000 is abusive. Apparently Neerings doesn't care for return customers, I'll never use them again.
Pros: Got the job done timely
Cons: Charged me $12,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
