Terribly Unethical Management 6/27/2011

After having been a member of OZ for several years I can't believe the unethical treatment we have recently experienced. For some reason they started charging unquthorized amounts on our credit card. When we inquired we were told they were turning things over to collections! There was never a call and no paperwork. We only see deductions that are still being made and no reason why anything should ever have been in arrears. They never made a phone call and no inquiry letter. Nothing. They can't seem to be reached by phone or email. Messages are left and not returned. They are simply impossible to deal with. They have an excellent pool but the rest of the facility pretty much is wretched. We remained members for so long because we had a good deal when it was still 24 hr fitness. In general the machines seem to be in disrepair and there is no support whatsoever. I also belong to a college gym and there is just no comparison in the level of support and friendliness of the staff. Jerry is an excellent trainer at OZ on the northside and I am sorry he is affiliated with such an unethcial and horridly awful establishment. DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM. I agree with the others. I am so very disappointed in the stunningly bad customer service. more

Looking for a gym? look elsewhere 8/27/2010

From experience, they lost all of my billing info and then sent my account to collections with no notification that I was past due. When I called the lady I spoke to was like a freakin robot all she could say was ""Pay or it will go to collections."" When I cancelled the membership they lost my cacellation paperwork and I had to fax my copy to them, and they tried to bill me for something I had previously paid for. DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM!! Absolutly horrible customer service. more

Rip Off 1/19/2010

I signed up on a three-year plan and was promised some promos upon signing which I never received. When I had the personal trainer they did stats more than anything. When they showed me how to operate the equipment, it was demonstated and then we went to another piece of equipment.\r \r They assured me I would get a renewal notice upon my 4th year (price went up according to the contract and since I was moving, they couldn't find my original contract). I got nothing and went out there several times and they said I was paid up that I was mistaken. I finally convinced a clerk and he let me pay.\r \r I moved and called and gave them my new address and still didn't get a renewal on the 5th year. I was assured and promised I would be getting it in the mail. I was assured by Michelle and A. that all I had to do was pay the balance and I would be fit to go.\r \r Went there last night and he said I was cancelled. They still had my old address, so no renewals were sent out like promised.\r \r Talked with Michelle again today and she told me I would have to resign up. I asked for her boss she told me she was the only boss. I said it must be nice to sign your own paychecks and she laughed. \r \r They are a gimic. Sign up and then you have to get to get the renewal price and then they get you to resign up. Pros: Some Friendly People Cons: Rip you off on your membership and promises more

Best Fitness deal in town 10/27/2009

I've just completed visits to Golds, Curves, the YMCA and OZ. OZ has BY FAR the best price for the facilities and hours. Their facilites match the Y... and their classes roughly parallel the Y... without the injection of small children into the pool. Their prices are cheaper for individual memberships than the Y... while family memberships are more expensive. OZ has a few things the Y does not... Racquetball courts and a spinning classroom for example. The womens locker/shower room was BY FAR the nicest one in town. I was very positively impressed! Comments on the other ""competition""... Gold's Gym is the cheapest in town, but it's only machines and one classroom. Curves is a set workout, and you ""plateau"" in around 9 months time and there are no showers. Snap fitness is the only 24/7 but they have no pool and not always staffed. Your key card lets you in if there's no one on staff. Spokane Club is the most expensive in town at $80-100/month plus hefty sign up fees. I didn't bother to even visit them. Pros: Impressively nice facilities Cons: A little too eager to sell me ""extras"" more

OZ FITNESS IS A RIPOFF, STAY AWAY! 6/26/2009

Sole me 24 hour memberships. Collected a lot of money. Then closed the gym for many hours a day, in particular during the time I wanted to use it. Refused to refund money, even partially. Unethical, sleezy. Avoid OZ Fintess, unless you want to pay for things you won't receive. Pros: Based on their actions, should be out of business soon Cons: They take your money, cancel services, keep your money more
