Horrible service!! 6/6/2011

Not only did they screw up on the time but they didn't move half my stuff. I got quoted online for 300.00 to get my bedroom and some totes/boxes in the garage. They took my twin bed, tv stand, wire baskets, love seat. and a few totes.. They left behind my corner desk (( they wanted to charge me 126 per hour (and hour taking it apart and hour reassembling it) honestly it wasn't hard to take apart a 5 year old would have been able to do it. The cost of that I could buy a whole new desk and get it shipped for that price! When I got back to my old apartment and saw that they had not only left behind my desk but other stuff that was in my bedroom I was furious! They had three guys and the truck was only a quarter full!! I could have rented a van and done all this my self..They quote they are cheap! Yeah because they don't do half the work! I will never do business with this company and would never recommend anyone else to either! more

Needed a last minute mover and this moving co was great! 5/27/2011

I found out last minute basically that I had to move for work and I only was given 4 days notice. Now the company gave me a list of preferred movers to chose from or I could pick my own but I had to pay a percentage if I chose the mover so I went through their given list and called 4 or 5 of them for quotes. 1 quoted me nearly 4500 for my weight and the other quoted me 5600 for almost the exact same weight and packing. I called Michael from monster movers back with the weights and faxed him the inventory list and box list that they both quoted me and crossed out the quoted price and for the exact same weight michael quoted me 3300!!! I chose that day monster movers based on reviews and their better business rating and the fact that they were company approved. 2 days later their driver Nathan came with 2 other helpers and they were exceptional. They packed everything wrapped it all up and loaded and were finished by the end of the day. I waited until the next day and recieved a call from Josh in their accounting/rerate department who was very nice and explained my revised price and I actually owed 400 less than I was quoted. That is the unbelievable part of the entire deal. I found a company that was honest enough to tell me my price went down as opposed to up and even though it was a company paid move and they could have kept the price the same as quoted or raised the price since they gave me a 8000 lb limit they chose to do the honest thing and lower my price accordingly. The sweetest part of the move was I requested a delivery 5 days after pick-up and they said they couldn't guarantee it and would do the best they could to accomodate my request. Nathan actually showed up int the morning the day I requested. I could not have been more happy with the service I recieved from this company. At first I couldn't believe every positive review on this site was from real people, I now believe they are real because I am proof that there are still some companies out there that believe in honesty, integrity and customer satisfaction is the most important part of business. I will definately recommend this company to colleagues and family members to them. more

Moved 6 times in 14 years Monster Movers was best by far 5/26/2011

In my 14yrs in the city I have moved about 6 times and I have had to use professional service, every time. My experiences have ranged from ""OK"" to downright ""Horrible"". I have grown from those experiences though. I moved with Monster MOvers about month and a half ago. Chris, my sales manager not only handled my booking but also took care of my building insurances with my management (note: let your building management/super know of the date and ask them about their insurance requirements. My new building didn't tell me about their insurance requirement up until 2 days before the move!) Christ called up the Management and set the whole thing up the next day. My moving crew was very professional, friendly and detailed. To sum it up, on time, friendly, knowledgeable crew, no broken stuff, no broken furniture, no hidden charges and no dilly dallying. I was delivered more than I was promised. Thank you guys and good luck.\r \r more

Watch out for this Company.....Absolutely Horrible! 5/19/2011

User Rating: 1 out of 5 stars \r by KM 05/20/2011 \r Horrible and think twice as they are not honest should things go wrong. They moved and stored 5 rooms of furniture. Upon delivery, some pieces of mahagony furniture were missing and never found(?) and ALL 5 rooms had significant damages. They were rude, never returned phone calls and hold the Better Business Bureau this is their 1st claim in 12years. One can see that that is not the truth. I am working with the insurance company as the damages were extensive. 2 bureaus were delivered 3 weeks after the move with 2 feet broken off each bureau ( one was an heirloom and the other was cherry wood. All the time they were telling me that repairs were being made which was a bold lie. They even tried to give me someone else's furniture to replace what was missing? Glass tops were damaged and boxes of dishes marked fragile were broken. Stay as far away as possible. Bill and Sara are not customer oriented people when it comes to problem solving and make you feel like you are the bad guy after paying them thousands of dollars! Best advice....stay as far away as possible as they 'just pick things up and put them down...."" causing a lot of damage. There was damage to 3 bedroom sets, a kitchen set and a dining room set. Hunks of wood were broken off as well as legs to bureaus (4). Items were gauged, glass furniture tops broken, items missing, movers broke a new door trying to get a piece in....and it goes on and on. This guy is a character and Mr. Bill was great at not keeping promises......\r The best thing I did was a holdback and he is still mad. The claim is thousands of dollars. My husband and I are both professionals and Billy used every trick in the book, even challenging the quality of the furniture. He gives you a big grin to get the business but disappears when it comes time to make things right. Promises are not kept and a complete lack of empathy for the customer. He and Sara make a good team. more

Monster Movers - Strong like monsters, gentle like giants 4/29/2011

There is nobody that can even come close to Monster Movers, hands down the BEST move I have ever experienced! The prices are very reasonable, the guys worked very hard with NO breaks, they were very careful with all my furniture, and they went over and above ALL my expectations. I have been bragging too my family and friends about you. I was really stressed about having to move but Monster did everything perfect. I highly recommend anyone looking to move to call and book right away. I sincerely appreciate everything you did to help with my move and I will definitely use you again. Please feel free to use me as a reference, everything was perfect! \r \r more

Great company for a local moving crew 3/6/2011

Monster Movers staff was easy to deal with and no-nonsense. We got what we asked for and when the movers realized the truck was going to be too small, the movers and the office sent a second truck and driver at the same cost without even mentioning it to us as a problem. The move went smoothly; the time/cost was what we expected; the gentlemen who moved us were truly delightful. We haven't completely unpacked everything yet, but so far, it seems they moved our entire two bedroom apartment without a single item breaking. These folks are superb. more

Amazing Job - Best Moving Crew Yet 2/25/2011

Tthis review cannot express how thankful we were to have used Monster Movers for our move. We have moved several times over the last dozen years some within the same state and a few out of state and we have had our share of nightmare moves. We paid over 10k for our last move 2 years ago from Maine to Texas with Allied Van Lines and that was our priciest move yet and the worst of all. numerous damages (too many to list) terrible customer service, and we had to wait almost a month to recived our goods. We have had a few decent movers as far as quality of work, but they also charged us additional which left a bitter taste in our mouths. This last move was a big one and we tossed around the idea of doing it ourselves with rental trucks, but none of the rental truck companies ie Budget, Uhaul, Ryder, or Penske offered a truck large enought o accomodate our goods, 15,000 lbs. give or take. Plus we did not want to do any packing which is the main reason we've hired moving companies all along. My husbands co-worker gave us Monster Movers number becuase they had nmoved him from Rhode Island to Texas several months back and we called them for an estimate. We spoke with Michael who was very warm and knew everything there was to know and left us with no questions. We came up with a date and he came up with a price including the packing and we booked them. When the move date came, Ian, Craig and Tom came and we can't stress enough how terrific and hard working these guys are. From the pick up time there were 3 days until unload. We have just finished unpacking our last few boxes and were amazed that there were no damages at all. We obviously move alot and will be moving again within the next few years and hope that Ian and his guys are available, but if not, we are sure all their movers are great. Thanks for the hard work. \r \r more

Worst moving experience ever! 2/15/2011

As someone else wrote, one star is way too much for these guys!\r \r They broke two boxes of dishes, one mirror, one table, scratched and dented three pieces of furniture. We didn't pursue the dents, and they fixed the mirror and replaced one box of dishes. They still owe me $150 out of agreed on $200 replacement for the second box, which THEY ARE REFUSING TO PAY. THEY SAY they don't have the money. DO YOU REALLY WANT TO TRUST YOUR MOVE TO A COMPANY THAT CAN'T COME UP WITH $150 ? Puts them close to bankruptcy if you ask me. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!\r \r Update: one of the items they ""repaired"" broke at the repair site the first time we used it. Today 2/15/11, Bill told me ""I'm through with you"", as in he's not going to EVER give me the money he AGREED he owed me.\r \r Careful out there! IF your move goes perfectly, then it'll be great. If ANYTHING goes wrong, you're in for a treat dealing with this guy!\r more

My Move from Marlborough to Boston - Great Job, Better Price 1/28/2011

I arranged to have a short notice move from Marlborough to Boston done with Monster Relocation, and was very enthusiastic about the move. \r \r I was in a real rush to get my move arranged quickly at the same time as dealing with finding a new place and wrapping up the job I was leaving, and suddenly faced the extra burden of fielding tons of calls from suspect moving companies (I do believe I narrowly avoided several scammers using the internet to search for a mover). I stumbled across this site to check out some companies I'd heard from, but I called Monster Movers after seeing all the positive feedback here and on other sites, especially since he was local. I'm glad I decided to make the call! \r \r Bill spoke with me immediately and, based on some info I had received from other estimates, quickly gave me an idea of costs and talked to me about a plan for the move, but also requested an in-home visit. After seeing my place and what I was moving, his quote was right on track with what he'd said over the phone, and he was even willing to be flexible on the final cost. He calmed me down a lot about the stress of packing for the move, as well; I won't have to be as paranoid and extra-prepared about moving items like glass, heavy furniture, etc- as Bill put it, if someone isn't able to pack/load these kinds of items correctly and safely then he'd never hire them to do one of his moves. \r \r Dealing with Bill in setting up my move was a refreshing and terrific experience.\r \r The move went perfectly - everything from a 5,000 square foot house without one scratch on anything. I am extremely impressed with this company and will recommend to friends in the future. more

Great Find - Honest, Hard-working Crew! 12/20/2010

Great Job by Scott, Jim, and Mike - I would use again. They moved my two trucks in 8 hours. The total came up under all other movers. I actually found the company on the net when my husband got transferred to Boston with his job. He actually got transferred to Framingham. The owner, Bill, was extremely helpful on the phone. Even more so than our own real estate agent who wanted us to buy a house in a really pricey neighborhood. We saved about $200,000 using Bills advice on a home. In turn, we used his movers to move us into the new home. This is a great company because they are honest and hard-working. Thank you! more

Great Experience 12/15/2010

I have been in the military and moved around quite a bit. Usually Uncle Sam pays for the move and usually gets the best. This time it was all on me, and boy did I get the best. They were professional, efficient and the price was reasonable for the work I had them do. From the time I first called for an estimate to the time the truck left my new home I felt at ease. I would highly recommend them to anyone who asks. more

Bankrupt & Poor Service 12/7/2010

My story seems consistent with others; they break a lot of things and don't take responsibility for it. Then they agree to pay some of the damage and eventually fail to pay on time or even at all! Do you really want to hire someone who 1/2 of the people on this board reviewed as a 1 star? more

Best Movers in Massachusetts - 100% beginning to end 12/1/2010

Really happy with the movers. I have moved many times in Massachusetts - usually using higher priced movers because my furniture in high end. This time the prices came in excrutiatingly high like $200/hour. Monster Movers was $126/hour. They shuttled my belongings in three trips - they filled a 26 foot truck three times and offloaded everything in 12 hours! I am really impressed as everything was professionaly from the first phone call to when the crew was leaving. I would say these are hands down the best moving company in Massachusetts because the service is just as great as other companies but almost half the price. more

Move went great - showed up on time,no damage, under estimate 11/21/2010

We've used this company twice in seven years. We got great service and it was underestimated so we paid less than the actual estimate said. There are other movers in the area that are ""high end"" price-wise but Monster Movers gives a great service at about 1/2 the price! I got an estimate from two others that were outrageous. Scott, Jim, Mike, and Paul were a great crew. We had to load one day and hold it in the trucks overnight. more

1 Great move & 1 TOTAL Disaster! 9/14/2010

For the first move, they came out to my house, did an inventory, showed up on time, didn't break anything, and actually charged a little LESS than they quoted.\r \r So when I moved again, I called them again.\r \r TOTAL DISASTER! They showed up late. They sent the wrong size truck and inexperienced workers, and the move ended up taking TWO DAYS. \r \r They showed up late both days, they gouged the walls, broke pieces of molding off walls and doorways, and broke so many things that a month later we're still finding stuff that's broken. Furniture and appliances that are cracked, lamps that were broken, one comforter looked like they drove the truck over it and cost $50 to get cleaned, etc. They didn't attach my heavy, solid oak dining room table top to the pedestal base and they didn't keep the hardware with the table when they took it apart, soI don't know where the harware is, so I guess I'm going to have to call a carpenter to reattach the table at my own expense.\r \r And when I complained to the office, they tried to blame me! I was totally prepared for the move, but they sent the wrong truck, the wrong crew, and ended up taking two days, none of which was my fault. Unbelieveable! \r \r Good customer service would have dictated a substantial reduction in the bill to compensate me for the unprofessional, unprepared, bad attitude I experienced with this company, but all they did was take $50 off of an $1100 bill for the extra travel time for the extra day they had to take to move us because they sent the wrong size truck. \r \r I will never use them again! more

Bill was right on estimate - great crew! 5/11/2010

I had a few estimates for a large move. I used another local mover about a year ago who was awful. I decided to give Monster Movers a try because Bill (my estimator) was so honest. On the move day - it went perfectly. They guys were really light-hearted which made it easy and actually fun on the day of the move. My kids were there and they would give them ""jobs"" - it was really a great experience. Definately Highly Recommended Pros: Great Job, No Damage, Hight Quality - Good Price Cons: Seems too good to be true more

One star is too high for this business 4/2/2010

If your only concern is cost, you may give them a try. But if service and quality matter to you, stay away from them. If you do not want to be called moron, stay away or never have any disagreement with them. Pros: the ""promises"" before sign contract and maybe price Cons: quality, service and you may be called moron more

In response to people making false claims (bill134567) 12/20/2009

I am the owner of another moving company in the area. It makes me sick that people make false accusations against moving companies for no good reason, probably the fact that they don't have the money to pay the bill at the end, or they are unorganized and the house is a pig pen so it takes 3 hours longer than it should have taken, or they are still packing on the scheduled move date. That is not our fault as business owners. AND AS FAR AS SAYING THAT THEY HAVE AN F AS A RATING, THAT JUST ISNT TRUE, IT'S LISTED AS A (B RATING), THATS B, NOT F. Some people are just morons and bill apparently is one of these morons, look it up the site is WWW.BBB.*** more

HORRIBLE!! BAD BAD STAY AWAY 9/5/2009

Low estimate to get your business then hand you a MUCH larger bill. The estimate they first gave me was reasonable but when the move finished the bill came in at $170 more then the high end of the estimate. I gave them a detailed list of every item to be moved from point A to point B. They will lowball the estimate to get the job. I had to talk to soemone from the ""office"" when I was upset that the bill was just WAY over the estimate and that person on the phone was rude and impolite. He did not even care that the estimate was over more then 90%!! I pretty much paid double over the estimate. Stay away from this company\r \r They say they have an address in Marlborough where I lived which is a LIE because they come from Worcester and tack on a $75 travel fee. This is another ploy to make you think the travel expense will be little to none.\r I had the same amount of stuff moved 2 months before PLUS about 35 boxes and the bill was cheaper. Do yourself a favor and hire someoen else. I wish I read the reviews before I hired them but I had to move quickly :-(. Pros: The guys moving the stuff were good Cons: The office/estimate people will ROB you more

Not worth it 8/12/2009

Don't go to these guys. They broke a window moving furniture and I didn't realize it, but found out from the landlord the next day. Least they could've done is own up to it. Pros: efficient Cons: dishonest more
