I have been going to this salon to have my hair cut and colored by Rebecca since she has started here! Rebecca is a wonderful stylist. She really has an eye for what will look great according to each of her clients. She always listens to exactly what I want to do with my hair and delivers a great finished product! Rebecca is great at coloring my hair as well. She is very personable and knowledgeable! She takes each clients needs/wants into perspective and delivers wonderful results! Everyone should get their hair cut and colored by Becca Murry. I always tell Becca the vision I have for my hair, and she always does better than I could have ever imagined. I'd gotten used to spending $70 on a haircut and hating it for a few weeks until it grew in enough that I could work with it. Isn't that just the way it goes? Nope. Phillip has been doing my hair for six months now, and I leave the salon ready to go out, I love the cut the first time I wash it and do it myself, and it still grows out gracefully over the next 8 weeks. Michael Phillips is a genius when it comes to great hair. He listened to my concerns and took them all into consideration when he went to work. My experiences in the past with other salons were very ""in and out""...and pushy regarding products and never any explanation about how to recreate the look. At Michael Phillips I found the complete opposite to be true. He walked me through step by step regarding everything he was doing. He took his time and made sure that my hair was perfect and he did not try to sell me a single product! He did not just give me a great cut and color he created a masterpiece. After searching and failing at other salons since I moved here, I finally found my stylist. Philip is one of the best in the businses with a true gift for hair. I recently had a haircut that wasn't what I wanted at all, so after trusting the reviews on here (which are all accurate) I called him up. He created a masterpiece out of a disaster and I couldn't be happier. Normally I will go home and redo the style to my liking, but with him, I didn't want to sleep on it b/c it looked so great when I walked out of his salon. He takes the time to consult with you beforehand, ensuring he knows what you want and giving his advice on what he thinks would suit your face, personality, hair texture, etc. As he cuts, he talks you through what he's doing and continuously ensures he is doing techniques that you like. It is possible to receive a superb haircut, without getting one that suits the individual. Phillip has a way of noting the shape of head and profile, the style of a person, the straightness or curl, thickness or thinness of hair and then creating a style that suits. He is an artist, sculpting with scissors and he has a rare eye for applying color. I have the pride of being Phillip's first customer when he returned to Baltimore from California fifteen years ago. I followed him wherever he worked until he made his own place. I moved away from Baltimore a long time ago, but I drive the distance to work with Phillip. The last six years, from Virginia. I foolishly tried to find someone local, but I never received the same caliber of cut that Phillip provides. It is best to just let him ""do his thing."" Don't backseat drive Shawn Petty. While I haven't used anyone else in his studio, I enjoy watching others get cut and styled and walk out the door happy and looking marvelous. If you can afford it - go. Since the first time I had my hair cut here about 3 years back I have never gone anywhere else. A friend told me to go try this place where she and all her friends were getting their hair cut. And I could see why. everytime I went I left with perfect hair. I just got home from a year and a half overseas and one of the first places I headed to was Phillip to get my hair cut. Even though I hadn't been there in a year and a half, phillip still remembered me. Can't get much better service or services. Long or short it is always the perfect cut - not too much, not too little. The cut is always made to fit the person. Even if I don't know exactly what I want Phillip can always guide me through a few ideas and throw his personal touch on so that whatever cut you get it looks like what I was thinking but couldn't explain. Let me start off by saying I am SUPER picky about who does my hair. I have lived in Federal Hill for a year and was commuting back home an hour every two months for highlights and a cut. I finanly decided to try a new place in Federal Hill. I decided to try the Phillip Michael studio b/c of the reviews I read on this site.. and omg they were so true. I LOVEEEEE my hair. Phillip did an amazing job with my highlights and my side bangs are awsome. He also gave me tips on how to blowdry my hair. I called on a Tuesday and he fit me into his schedule the next day. The best part about Phillip is that he really cares about how he makes your hair look. He takes the time to listen to what you want and offer suggestions. I will 110% be back in two months! Phillip Michael Studio is a fantastic place. I have been on a hunt for over 4 years since I've moved down here to find a great stylist - and believe me I have tried just about every high end salon in the Baltimore Washington area and had yet to be impressed.... Phillip did a great job. He really took the time to consult with me and figure out what I wanted (the others say they do that... let's face it most of them don't and they do what they want to do...and just want to get you in and out of their chair as fast as they can!!!) I trusted him completely and he did a great job. I got a great new style and color that for about the first time ever... didn't fade in a week! Phillip will make you happy. I will definitely be back. I am hooked! I have been driving from Annapolis because I have been to many, many places near me and have never gotten such great cut and color. I was very impressed with phillips hair stuido. he did an amazing job on my hair and listened to everything I wanted and didn't want. He discussed what we were going to do with my hair before we even got started! he also was able to straighten my very curly, thick hair without any trouble at all. This is something that I literally have never seen a hair stylist be able to do in my entire life. (no joke) I usually do my hair myself because that's how many bad experiences I have had in the past, but from now on I will be going to Phillips Studio. I highly reccommend you do too :) more

I am very picky about my hair and very nervous trying someone new, so i've been traveling 5 hours to get my hair done until I decided I should try someone here in Baltimore. I found Phillip Michael in Fed Hill and it was a great experience. He talked about what I wanted done with my hair, the ideas that he had, and when we met on the same page, he started working.
