Best

Sushi land rocks if you want good sushi for a great price. Of course there are better tasting sushi else where but it would cost you double. Sushi is the best for cheap but good ...

Worst

...then go to Sushiland. The prices are really cheap, and the nifty conveyer belt where you choose them from is really cool, but the sushi isn't fresh at all. They can make sush...

Fresh Fish Fast Service 8/14/2011

I order to go atleast every other week and always get good fresh fish. They make the hand rolls just the way I want and the service is usally very good also. more

Not a good place to eat 2/12/2011

First of all, it is supposed to be a ""first come, first serve"" restaurant. Truely it is not. My wife and I was still waiting about 32 minutes and noticed two different parties (each with 3 people) who came in less than seven minuted ago were called to be seated in two different booths. I complained the situation to manager and he said it is a company policy to seat three or more people in the booth no matter when they came in. ""Wow"", what a stupid policy set by bunch of twits. Well they just lost a customer thanks to their studpid policy.\r \r Also, the restaurant is not clean, I can see rice crumbles here and there on the floor. The rack they use to clean the table is dirty, I am pretty sure there are lots of germs. By the way, the apron they wear is literally dirty and they wipe their hands with it.\r \r Thirdly, the service really socks. I had to wait few minutes for more tea. It seemed like waiter/waitress were just ignoring customer.\r \r This is my put and strongly suggest not to waste your money. more

Service Poor, Food Decent 1/30/2010

The ones who make and prepare the food make me question whether or not everything is safely prepared to FDA standards. They mess up my order very often and when it is right I end up waiting for 20 minutes for it to be made. By that time I am just grabbing what is on the belt. The chefs also barely speak a word of english so there is a 75% chance you will get something you didn't want. Stay away from this place if you want to feel like a welcomed customer. Pros: The taste at least hasn't withered away. Cons: Service. more

Was my Fave place for 8 years..sux now. 9/10/2009

This was my ultimate favorite place for 8 years. You can tell the place probably has new owners because this place just plain sux now. The service sux, the chefs behind the counter forget things, make them wrong, or don't understand what you are saying (constantly). We have gone here a few times after the major change to hopefully be proven wrong, but nope, changed seemingly for good. The old staff used to plop the fish and huge Salmon on the counter and filet it right there, now they literally plop frozen bricks of fish to thaw on the counter. Okay, I would NEVER go to Costco and buy the frozen induvidually wrapped fish, thaw it and chomp into it, gross. Guess that is was you pay for here frozen everything. I am so sad, I miss the old Sushiland...guess it's Blue C sushi for Happy Hour from now on, what a shame. Pros: Cheap sushi Cons: Now you REALLY get what you pay for. Frozen fish. more

Great lunch spot 2/7/2009

I have read some of the reviews about poor customer service and I have to say I have only ever experienced the best service from this place, and I come here on a weekly basis. \r Keep in mind that they are not well-equipped for large parties of people or frequent special requests. You come in, sit at the counter, and pick things up from the conveyor belt. If you see something on the menu that you want but isnt readily available, you can ask any of the sushi chefs and they get it for you. I have never felt the service was lacking in regards to the sushi chefs or any of the servers. \r Overall, the sushi is fresh, there is a nice selection, and it is all very decently priced. (we usually spend no more than $20 for the two of us) The service is fast and friendly. They have free parking (something that isn't available at the queen anne location). The only reason I dont give them 5 stars is that their bathrooms are usually trashed. It's a great lunch spot! Pros: low price, freshness, parking. Cons: bathrooms more

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD! 12/24/2008

Ok so, we got there, it was packed and put our name on the list. Had a beer on the bench. and waited and waited and waited and waited. 4 parties came in after us, that had 3 or 4 people in them, and were seated before we were. So we waited and waited and waited and waited again. Asked what is taking so long, Well they wont seat you because if there are so many seats available and that number comes in after you do, they seat that many people 1st. we waited almost an hour. I actually wanted to walk out and not pay for our beers. Im not that way so we paid and left. Ended up at WHAT THE PHO. much better place and fabulous food. more

Horrible taste, horrible service 10/9/2008

First of all, it takes forever to get seated.\r Secondly, the seaweed is cheap and the rice is sticky and chewy.\r Thirdly, it is nearly impossible to get anyone's attention about your order. They seriously have no idea how to take a simple order, make it, and then deliver it.\r And last but not least, the employees are pigs! They hit-on me and my friend every time we go and this has made us both so uncomfortable to the point where we don't even want to return.\r I have nothing good to say about this place.\r It's especially awful to eat here if you're vegan or vegetarian. Pros: A fun place with a group of friends Cons: Bad service, yucky food more

I like my fish raw, not my customer service. 6/14/2008

I'm a big sushi fan, and I've been to sushiland many times, as well as other ""real"" sushi places. I've liked sushiland because the quality of the fish is not bad for the price. However, customer service has always been their weak point. This las time was the worst I've ever been treated. So bad so that I'm never going back. We went there with a group of 6, and it was very crowded, so we agreed to sit in separate sections of 4 and 2. A few plates in, 2 seats next to the group of 4 opened up. Seeing as how it would be a straight swap, the 2-person group asked if they could move to the new spots. However, the ""management"" aka the guy at the register refused our request, saying it would be ""inefficient"" for them because they were so busy. Not happy, we let it slide, but as we were paying the bill we let it be known that we could not say what was so ""inefficent"" about letting people move. Instead of apologizing or just saying sorry, the ""management"" proceeded to dress us down by saying that our request would have caused them to lose business because they would have to wipe down 2 extra seats, and that we were out of line for making the request because we had ""wanted"" to be in separate groups. We left it at that, but the reasoning was so outrageous, that they just lost more business then they gained. Moving and wiping down the 2 ""extra"" seats would have taken all of 2 minutes. I hope those 2 extra minutes of ""business"" they made are worth losing 2 customers for good. Pros: Very cheap sushi. Cons: Very bad customer service. Rude wait staff. more

Don't eat at Sushiland Bellevue - Bad services from sushi chef - Lazy sushi Chef - Bad attitude 6/28/2007

On June 26, 07 My family and I went to Sushiland in Bellevue. That day was our first time we went to that location. When I wanted to order Salmon Skin roll to Sushi chef, He was not reallly paying attention to us and He did not bring my order to the kitchen as well. The guy was just keep making sushi. and even said to me"" IF YOU DON'T WANT TO WAIT, YOU CAN GO"" I really not recommend eating sushi in this location, bad service. The owner should change the employees attitude. Employees there are lazy. The sushi chef description: - about 5' tall - Little bald hair / (little spikey hair) - Dark or brown skin - have a little mustache and beard in chin - wearing an earring on his left ear - thick eye brow more

Um.... can I get some service with that? 6/26/2007

You know, I have been putting up with Sushi Land because I have been telling myself that it is a great value for the money. But guess what. I suddenly realized that Sushi Land can afford to play cheap because it doesn't provide you with service, period. For the entire duration of your stay, you constantly have to remind what you've asked them to do 15 minutes ago (again and again) and you never get any kind of ackwoledgement for your orders. You could never tell if they have actually heard you or are simply ignoring you. And when you ask to confirm that they have received your request for Unagi, the guy gives you this look that says ""man, quit buggin' me, i'm workin' here"".\r Bottom line is, I'm never going back there because it's actually not great value for your money. Service isn't part of this restraunt's meal. more

Pass on this one..... 6/2/2007

Some people like their sushi; some people find the sushi insulting. Real sushi chefs take pride in the presentation of the sushi they prepare; but NOT at this restaurant; obviously, their standards are very low. I have never seen sushi fall apart on the plate because the chef is too inept to roll it tight enough. Their food here is mediocre at best; there was a thick layer of dust on the containers holding their knives (which they use to cut YOUR food); and you have to wave a flag to get anyone's attention just so you can get a glass of water!!!! And we were seated at the bar. The workers are unfriendly too. \r Their other restaurant up in Redmond is NO BETTER. TAke my advice and go to Kikuya's to get the real deal. Cons: Cleanliness, Service, Quality more

Are you sure you want to go? 5/29/2007

It's really inexpensive for not fresh sushi and bad service. The cooks don't even answer or nod for customers' questions and requests. They kept forgetting what customers' order and chatting with each other and talking while they were making gross sushi. Pros: quick bite, inexpensive Cons: bad service, small space, dirty environment more

An inexpensive solution to your sushi cravings 4/4/2007

Somewhat hidden between the sprouting high rises of downtown Bellevue is a quaint and popular sushi house. Devoid of decorative furnishings, the spartan interior is often full of waiting customers eager for cheap eats. Patrons expecting uber fancy and intricate dish preparation will be dispointed, but this establishment will heartily satisfy casual cravings. Wait times of 30 minutes and a dearth of available parking are quite common during the lunch and dinner hours. Nearly all of the popular Nigiri sets (two pieces of sliced fish on a pat of rice) cost one to two dollars, usually a dollar fifty. Whole Salmon is carved on site providing modest entertainment for cooking show fans. Strangely, a number of fantastic meal items are not listed on the menu. The fried calamari for a $1.50 is a great example. Strike up a conversation with the customers seated around you to get the inside scoop. Odds are the person next to you is a regular.\r \r Tips and Tricks:\r To the right of the cash register is a waiting list, sign yourself in immediately after entering!\r Show up at 11:30am or 4:30pm: These seating times will beat the bulk of the rush and coinside with repopulation of the conveyor with fresh dishes.\r Tired of waiting for your favorite dish: Request your item(s) made to order from the Sushi chefs.\r There are three booths which can accomodate four or more people, expect a long wait if you desire one of these seats. Pros: Excellent value, chefs will accomodate food requests Cons: Parking, wait times during peak hours, inconsistent drink service more
