Review content:
Somewhat hidden between the sprouting high rises of downtown Bellevue is a quaint and popular sushi house. Devoid of decorative furnishings, the spartan interior is often full of waiting customers eager for cheap eats. Patrons expecting uber fancy and intricate dish preparation will be dispointed, but this establishment will heartily satisfy casual cravings. Wait times of 30 minutes and a dearth of available parking are quite common during the lunch and dinner hours. Nearly all of the popular Nigiri sets (two pieces of sliced fish on a pat of rice) cost one to two dollars, usually a dollar fifty. Whole Salmon is carved on site providing modest entertainment for cooking show fans. Strangely, a number of fantastic meal items are not listed on the menu. The fried calamari for a $1.50 is a great example. Strike up a conversation with the customers seated around you to get the inside scoop. Odds are the person next to you is a regular.\r
\r
Tips and Tricks:\r
To the right of the cash register is a waiting list, sign yourself in immediately after entering!\r
Show up at 11:30am or 4:30pm: These seating times will beat the bulk of the rush and coinside with repopulation of the conveyor with fresh dishes.\r
Tired of waiting for your favorite dish: Request your item(s) made to order from the Sushi chefs.\r
There are three booths which can accomodate four or more people, expect a long wait if you desire one of these seats.
Pros: Excellent value, chefs will accomodate food requests
Cons: Parking, wait times during peak hours, inconsistent drink service
