I have brought my import car in for numerous repairs. Joshua and his crew are thorough professionals. I was treated with fairness, respect followed by affordable competitive pricing. They have bent over backwards to answer any and all questions and concerns. Treating me with respect and dignity. Their trustworthiness and respectful, polite, demeanor, has given me great peace of mind. Of any problems I might have, having a good excellent team of car technicians isn't one of them. Do NOT take your vehicle to these people. Josh at the desk is nice as can be but when it comes to their mechanics and the OWNER...they are a joke! EVERY SINGLE THING WE HAVE HAD DONE ON OUR F150 by Mad Hatter was wrong and has ended up costing us more money in repairs. To start. 1. We needed a pulley replaced. Sounds simple enough but they put on the wrong size pulley, we drove it home and the belt fell off!! 2. We took it back, they replaced the pulley with the right size but their mechanic punctured the top of our radiator! 3. When we took it to them to get a new boot put on our CV axle. They suggested replacing the entire axle. So we did and had nothing but problems from that point on. They Installed it incorrectly and damaged a seal on the other side of the axle which left us with a loud squeal. They kept blaming it on the grease from the boot and would not replace it. Not only that but they didn't tighten the bolts on the tire and I drove on a loose tire for a week with my 4 and 6 year old! Now we drove on this bad axle for almost a year. Finally we convinced them to replace the entire axle and it fixed the problem but driving on the bad axle for that long ruined our wheel bearing. At this point we will not let them touch our vehicle again and took our truck to the Ford dealership to have it replaced. Ford and another mechanic in PSJ confirmed that the axle and loose tire were the cause of the bearing going out. So after having to pay $556 to have it fixed. I called Mad Hatter to get reimbursed AT LEAST FOR THE PART and they would not do it. They ADMITTED it was their fault and that they have had other problems with a mechanic! But they still would not reimburse the cost of the part. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THEM! They have a bad rep through out Panama City, Panama City Beach and Lynn Haven! If anyone from Mad Hatter would like to contact me and make this right I will gladly remove this review!!! more

Good: The service was impeccable. The prices were reasonable. They were actually happy to see us.. Bad: OM Gosh, I don't know what to say. The place is unlike any auto repair shop I've ever been in. I have know these people for years. I know the owner, his father and mother, wife and family. I do not know them personally but through their business. It is a professionally run family business. My family has been going here ever since I can remember. I was 16 years old driving a beat-up Chrysler LeBarron. They kept this car running for me all through college. Now, I'm a mother of 2 and I have to take care of my family. The cars I now have are much better than my old LeBarron. Mad Hatter takes care of me and I appreciate it. BTW. I joined this site to report the reviewer that made a fictitious negative review about this company. I spoke with the crew at Mad Hatter and got the real scoop. The reviewer is a friend of a former employee they fired months ago for stealing. He's been bashing them on-line ever since. Take the review for what it's worth. It is fiction. more

As I cannot edit my original, I feel inclined to add this: The owner of this company just came by my friend's house which the car was originally towed from, after harassing me on the phone for nearly 10 minutes. He threatened me with his lawyer repeatedly, then told me he'd be there. I left and arrived shortly to see his blue Ford truck pull up past the ambulance which was waiting for his arrival, back up, then ask "Are you Mr. XXXX"? My friend replied with some vulgar language and he said "Just confirming your address!" and left. more

I was quoted $400 to swap a transmission in my vehicle, I provided all parts. They then charged me an extra $12.00 for a part that I bought and personally handed to a mechanic (pilot bearing), and charged me almost $75 in labor to swap the sensors and parts from one transmission to the next WITHOUT swapping them! I confirmed this because I put a bad speedometer sensor into the good transmission, and expected it to be swapped. My speedometer did not work upon driving the vehicle. They also tried to "social engineer" talk me out of keeping my old transmission which had my good sensors on it, but also did not swap my $125 Pro 5.0 short-shifter over to the new one. How convenient would THAT have been for them!? The final bill was over $650 and I was quoted $400 several times. They forgot to tighten the transmission mount bolt also, which made my shifter bounce all over the place when I hit bumps. On top of that, there's more! They PAY CUSTOMERS to GIVE 5 STAR RATINGS! I am extremely dissatisfied by these bunch of lying thieves. Also, several years ago, a mechanic on duty offered to hollow out my catalytic converters for $50. This is a FELONY CHARGE. more

I went there for the first time this morning expecting the same old thing I get when I go to an auto repair place. Usually, I get a grease monkey speaking to me in a condensending manner because I'm female and not from around here. Not at Mad Hatter! Josh and David were the nicest people I think I ever met. They got my car back into the shop quickly, found my problem and gave me an estimate for the repair with in 30 minutes. David then gave me a ride back to work while they fixed my car. Josh called me about 3 hours later and David came and picked me up. NOW THAT WAS SERVICE!!! You don't get service like that anymore. If service and quality are important to you, then II recommend Mad Hatter on 23rd St. Good Job Guys! I will be back!! more

I took my car to one shop who gave me a $1,200 estimate to fix my AC. Before spending all that money, I decided to get a second opinon. I went to Mad Hatter on 23rd St. because I heard these guys were the best. I was not disappointed. They found a freon leak at an O-ring. They changed the O-Ring and a couple of extra parts. $250 later I had cold AC. $1,200.00 HA! Not today Mr. Dishonest Mechanic. I would recommend Mad Hatter to anybody. more
