Purchasing process was smooth. But, we also bought a window tinting and all weather package. Scheduled an appointment to get parts installed and from then on it has been a nightma...

Service department is slow and incompetent 8/20/2013

Called for a State inspection appointment. Was told an appointment was not needed, just bring the car in. Car was checked in for a state inspection at 11:35 and I was told it would be about an hour. 11:50, I was called out to the service area and was asked by another rep what I wanted done. Repeated info about needing a state inspection. Service department rep stated although it was a safety inspection, he was not sure his guys could do it, since it wasn't a honda. Stated he was not sure they would know how to take a wheel off to inspect a brake. Told me I should have called before I came and he would have told me to go some where else. I informed him I had called and was told to bring it in. He told me he wished he could finf out who was answering the service department phone and telling customers they did not need an appointment. Car was parked 1.5 hours and not touched. I asked for my keys and left. Curiously they have a sign in the waiting room that states "Customer service is the life blood of an organization...Customer service is not a department, it's an attitude". How true. more

The staff was so helpful and Fransisco who handled the demonstration was awesome. They didn't hard sell you but they were eager to get you what you wanted. They worked hard compromising with me on time frame and waiting on soon to be ex to sign titles on trades. They gave me a very reasonable trade value which made the decision to do business easy. The car was more then I intended to spend but they did an awesome job selling me on the Honda name. more

OUR SALESPERSON, JAMES, WAS TRULY A JOY TO WORK WITH. HE WAS VERY ATTENTIVE TO ALL OUR QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS, AND WAS ALSO QUITE KNOWLEDGABLE ABOUT THE VEHICLE WE PURCHASED. HE EXPLAINED ALL OF THE FEATURES, AND MADE SURE WE WERE HAPPY WITH EVERY STEP OF THE PURCHASING PROCESS. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE WHO IS THINKING ABOUT BUYING A HONDA. IT WAS WORTH THE 6 HOUR ROUND-TRIP FROM DES MOINES TO LEE'S SUMMIT TO GET THE OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT HE GAVE. GREAT JOB! more

easy going 6/15/2011

As a recent buyer of a new Honda CRV and a woman who absolutely hates to go shopping for a car, my experience with Honda and especially with TIM SMITH was just wonderful. He was so easy going and let me look, ask questions and was there to help in every way. If more salespeople were like Tim I think sales would boom, especially for us women who hate a hard sell and a pushy salesperson. Please let TIM SMITH know just how great a sales person he is and how he, along with our long history with HONDA, is the only reason we purchase a new one at this time. more

Bad Service Department Even Worse Management 6/13/2011

I've never seen such a poor service department but after dealing with the Service Director I can understand why it’s so bad. I took my 2010 Civic in last week to have my oil changed. I should have just gone back to my original dealership but this one is more convenient since moving to LS last year. It started off bad from the start when I walked over to check in but the service Reps were too busy discussing what they did over the weekend instead of checking me in. I stood there patiently waiting for some kind of acknowledgement but I finally had to tell the service rep that I was running late for work. They acted as if I was harassing them when all I wanted was them to do their job. After over an hour of waiting the car was done. I was thinking to myself if this is what they considered as express I hate to see how long it takes normally. After work I came out to my car only to find oil everywhere. I asked a male collaged if he could see where the oil was coming from. I told him I just had my oil changed earlier that morning. He looked over the car and discovered that the technician had not tightened the drain pan bolt all the way. I had to refill the car with oil and drove straight back to the dealership to complain. When I got there I asked to speak to a manager and was told he would be with me in few minutes. Continue to next review for the rest of the story.. more

Continued - Bad Service Even Worse Managment 6/12/2011

After 30 minutes had passed Mr. Rodgers approached me and asked if he could help me. I told him what had happen and that I wasn’t very happy. All he said was well you know accidents happen and the technician is right out of school so we’ll use this as a learning lesson. I was thinking to myself Learning lesson I’m glad my car and I can be the guinea pig. By this time I was getting more upset so I also informed him that his service reps also ignored me when I turned the car in. He told me that they do their best and sometimes they’re just busy with other customers and that I wasn’t any more important than anyone else. I’m thinking what an A-hole did he just say that. I told him that there wasn’t any other customers and the 3 where talking about their past weekend plans. He told me if he receives any other complaints on the subject he would bring it up in the next department meeting. The guy just simply wasn’t getting it and treated me like I didn’t matter and I was only one customer. He then told me if I like he would give me the next oil change free of charge. I told him no thank you I’ll be going elsewhere where they appreciate paying customers. He then said ok well it sounds like where done here have a good evening. I was in shock as he walked away without ever saying sorry. I guess in his world he did by telling me to have a good evening. All I can say is I’ve never been treated so poorly in my life and I’ll never go back there and I’ll make sure to tell everyone about my experience with Lee’s Summit Honda service department. more

It is amazing how bad their service team is. They routinely mis-diagnosed the problem, didn't call me when parts were in, and gave me the run-around. When I brought it to David Rogers' (service manager) attention, he could care less. Take your money elsewhere, these people are a joke! more

My husband and I are just starting to build our credit (and our life together) and Eric was the first dealer amoung many that we visited who even bothered to sit down and work with us. We looked at many cars on his lot, fell in love with an 07 civic, but ended up not being able to afford it. Eric didn't give up on us and finally got us into a Mazda 6... our perfect car, even though it wasn't what he was trying to sell us on. He was fantastic and I would suggest anyone buying any kind of car to visit him first. more
