Lake Norman Chrysler Jeep Dodge's slogan of ""Why go anywhere else"" is RIGHT ON THE MONEY. I have been a long standing customer of this dealership, purchasing several cars and always getting my service done at their shop. I cannot say enough good things - here are a few though: 1) Buying experience - the sales people are knowledgeable, friendly (always a smile), not pushy (let you explore without shadowing you), go the extra mile (drive to Gastonia with you just to look at different model colors that weren't on the Lake Norman lot), help down to the last detail (ordering options), and don't let you buy anything they wouldn't put on their own vehicle. They will happily show you everything on the lot, let you take weeks to keep asking questions, find a car for you at another location and have it brought in, or order a new vehicle from the factory. My last experience was perfect - I walked away purchasing two cars! Jamie and Nathan are superior employees and I would recommend both to my best friends. Nathan drove me to Gastonia and went over the vehicles' features and options many times over (at my request); Jamie spent hours with me and help me select both Mopar and after market parts for the Rubicon. These guys are like friends now. How about price? Fantastic!!! I will tell you that no other dealer can compare in selection, service and price! Also, they have the ""Lake Norman Advantage"", which includes tires for life, carwashes, 4 oil changes, loaner cars, etc., etc., etc ... wow! When it came time for the paperwork, Amanda was superior. She explained the financing options, warrantee options, etc. in great, patient detail. She also made recommendations based upon experience and didn't just ""go for"" the most expensive. She handled the plates, insurance, etc., and all I needed to do was sign by the ""x's"". Great experience. 2) Service: Terry and crew are fantastic - he's never recommended work for me that wasn't necessary and I've never felt like I've paid for something that wasn't critical. He is beyond helpful, and even advised when my last car was past its lifespan - and recommended not to put more money into the 14 year old engine! He is knowledgeable, trustworthy, fair and friendly! 3) Parts department: These guys have a great inventory, and get you what you need fast, and fairly priced - very helpful! Bottom line - when I shop for a car, I want to get the best car at a fair price - Lake Norman Chrysler Jeep does that plus, adds friendly people who you would recommend to your friends, adds great service, and throws in the ""Lake Norman Advantage"". If you are at the dealership and what more great information, please let have them give you my number. Enjoy your new vehicle! more

I visited the dealership last week and expressed my interest in buying a Jeep Patriot. I was asked to bring my existing car to the dealership for a trade-in appraisal. I did this and the sales person and used car manager carefully inspected my car. I was told I would receive a phone call within an hour with a trade-in offer. I did not receive the call and did not hear back from the dealership. It is clear that they did not value my business. \r \r I would recommend anyone reading this review to avoid Lake Norman Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and take their business to a dealership where they value customers more

Nate never complained when we asked to test drive 5 different vehicles; helping us make our final decision. There was a huge inventory to choose from and despite not having what I wanted, they found the options at another dealership and brought it in. Got a good deal on a new Grand Cherokee...or at least I thought. I did a ton of research and looked far and wide for a GC. Found one at Lake Norman Jeep, emailed the ""Internet Sales"" guy and made it very clear that I wanted to know the price on the one advertised (as I know they include every single rebate on those prices online) - he assured me that was the price. Ok, drove all the way from Raleigh and had communicated with the guy I'd be there at 6pm. Where is he? Bowling! What a joke this guy is...make all those arrangements and he's not there. However, a real nice sales guy named Nate helped me out right away and he's the reason I ended up staying and buying the car. So that was the bad, then the good, but now some more bad...the Finance guy, who I have to say was very nice, sort of pulled a fast one on me. Well not sort of, he did. I wanted to have the amount financed at or under $10k, so I ended up paying more cash than I wanted in addition to my $25k trade-in...basically he did some fast-talking about getting a lower rate with an extended warranty, blah, blah, blah...so all in I end up paying way more for the car and got a 72-month loan for $13k. I should have had him rip it up when I realized, but it was late and I just wanted my new car! Anyway, Nate in Sales was great after Mark totally screwed the pooch...but pay attention when you're with the Finance guys!! Overall, seems like a great dealership. more

Great price on new Jeep Wrangler along with equaly fair price on our trade in, friendly staff, very accomodating with our needs. Dealership had an extensive inventory of Jeep Wranglers with various equipment, that allowed us to select a vehicle exactly how we wanted it with out having to pay extra for features that we were not interested in. more

We had been looking for a while for a SUV, perferably a Yukon XL. Happened to come across one on EBay, at a decent $ that was at Lake Norman Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealership. Called and spoke to Russell. Very straight forward with anwsers to my questions and friendly. Made an appointment, drove 2 hours and had a great experience! Had pricing information,details and carfax before leaving, and was shown carfax when we were there without asking for it!!! Didnt fill pushed or prodded to buy, instead had a relaxed atmosphere. Amanda was grat and knowledgable! more

Dead batteries on new jeeps, jumpbox salesman, error codes 8/30/2011

Dead batteries on new car lot (not properly charged after transport) Tried purchasing a $48k JGC Overland that couldnt drive off the lot due to electrical issues. Shady sales techniques when presented with internet sales pricing via ZAG/true car worksheets... Would highly recommend you avoid this dealer unless you dont mind being hasseled. New cars having to go to the service bay before leaving dealership = priceless! Not working with your buyer after a problem like this = absurdity. Salesman said ""theres nothing wrong with this car"" after throwing error codes = hilarious! Go to Stateline, Keffer, etc. I must admit...if I were the owner (Mr. Jack Salzman) I would clean house to make sure this sort of issue does not happen again. more

Found out that they charge $699 on every car they sell, which if I were buying a new car might not be that big a deal, but $699 on an $8,000 car is quite a profit markup for nothing more than having the good luck of me walking into their store. And remember, that is on top of the profit they are making on the car itself. Just thought everyone should know. An informed buyer is a retailers worse customer! more

Never AGAIN ! 4/19/2011

Well, I will say they were friendly. That aside, I will never do business with them again. Long story short ?. I saw a jeep on their web site MSRP 27180 marked down to 24845.00. Sounds like a good deal , right ? Anyway I?ve got a phenomenal credit score, around 800. I always lease then buy the car when the lease is up, makes my monthly payments lower, it works for me. Well I spoke to the salesman, after the back and forth haggling process was over he told me I could get my payment for 380.00 a month with my 5000.00 down on a 36 month lease and the payoff at end of lease would be 10400.00 . Of course that was the best that could be done. I?d told him I didn?t want to go over 350.00 a month. I wasn?t going to finance for 60 mths. I told him I?d think about it and I left. Well the next day he called and said he had great news. They were able to get my payment down to 339.11 and still the payoff would be 10400.00. Dont ask, I have no idea how they managed that. I made the mistake of dropping my guard. I was taken back to fill out all the paper work , again all were very friendly. I began signing my life away. He didn?t even go over the lease agreement with me. Now the trouble. I started going over the lease contract, I found a 800.00 charge regarding a service contact for tires and rims which I didn?t ask for. It was talked about but I wasn?t told I was being charged for it. Then for the really bad part, I saw the end of lease purchase price, over $15,000.00. Ok, how could I own 15000.00 on a car listed @ 24845.00 after 36 mths of 339.11 + 5000.00 down payment + 1500 mark down? ? Doesn?t add up, neither did the response I got when I called. I was told , oh they charge a fee on leases you'll want to turn in that jeep at the ens of the lease and get another new car. Which would have been fine had I not just given them $5000.00?. What the crap ! more

I just recently purchased my second vehicle from Lake Norman Jeep (Jeep Patriot). Since my family has moved down here 10 yrs. ago, we have only dealt with Lake Norman Jeep. The whole car buying process can be stressful, but Maggie and the crew really make it quick and painless. I have to say thanks to Maggie for putting in the time to find the Jeep that was right for me. I love my Patriot!!! Rest assure, when it's time for the next Jeep, I'm only going up I77 to Lake Norman Jeep. Thanks folks...especially Maggie!!! more

I just bought 2010 Jeep from Jay Tarlowe at the Lake Norman Jeep dealership. I was really stressed about the whole car buying process and hesitant to go shopping, but it truly ended up being the friendliest, most seamless purchase ever. Jay was genuine from the start and really willing to work within our budget. He sold me the perfect Jeep for the right price in a matter of hours... no need to come back or fill out extensive paperwork, it was done & I drove the car off the lot that day - on a Sunday! I found the service dept to be great, I had to have my car worked on and they were great at getting it fixed fast so my wait was not long at all. I do plan to take my car back to this Dealership. The service adviser was able to explain the problem with my car so that I could understand what he was talking about. Great Job WILL BE BACK more

Helpful Not Stressful 3/30/2010

I purchased my Jeep Liberty about 6 months ago from Willie Brown. Lake Norman was a little out of the way but ended up being worth the drive because Willie was really helpful. He explained all the options to me and actually switched me from buying a sedan to an SUV after hearing about all the stuff I tend to haul around, from home improvement stuff to dogs, it all fits now :-) They had a ton of Libertys to choose from and I got one with a Skyslider---totally cool! A guy named Bill gave me a decent amount for my worn out Taurus, more than other dealers offered me. I was a little concerned about going into the finance department, wasn't sure about my credit, but Amanda found a bank to finance me no problem. Willie and a girl named Stephanie have both called to make sure everything was good with my Liberty. Nice that they care about you even after you give them the sale. Pros: good selection, nice people, priced right Cons: None to report more
