Had our LG refrigerator repaired today by Tom from Lake Appliance. A very positive experience. He was professional, found the problem quickly and had the part in his truck. Was in and out of here in less than half an hour. more

Lake Appliance Repair turned what started out as a very stressful situation into a huge sigh of relief. Called in the morning when I discovered all the ice in the freezer of our GE Monogram refrigerator/freezer was melted and everything had defrosted. My husband was coming home from deep sea fishing with 70 lbs of tuna that needed to be frozen ASAP. Nadine answered the phone when I called, she took my info, had someone call me back within 10 minutes. After explaining the situation a technician arrived just after I got home from picking up my husband and his catch at the airport. The refrigerator was repaired on the spot (30 minutes), shortly after the repair the freezer was a reassuring 0 degrees and this morning the tuna was frozen solid. We are VERY pleased with the service we got and will use Lake Appliance Repair from now on. Best service experience we'll ever had!! more

Have had these guys out to fix my washer. Wouldn't normally write a review but this company stands out for friendliness and knowledge on appliances. Be sure to ask for Roy or Paul. more

This company really knows their stuff. They are running a great operation. I got a phone call when the technician was on his way over (same day service as well). The technician diagnosed the problem with my no-cool refrigerator and explained the issue I was having in a way I could understand. He offered me options. I had him go ahead and repair the fridge. When he was complete the price was $120 less than what I was quoted. He said I didn't need one of the two parts he thought I may need. This was very cool. I received a follow up call 2 days after my service. I haven't recieved service like this in a while. Thanks Folsom Lake Appliance!! more

Bad customer service 5/18/2012

Horrible service, as a working family of two children you would think there would be a little more helpful. We bought a heating element for our dryer last month and it broke again, went in to see about a warranty and they said there is none because we would have to service call your house which would cost ME more money. Basically saying that there was nothing wrong with their part but my dryer. I could see if the same part broke like 2 or 3 times in 2 or 3 months but this is the first time ever since owning the dryer that it needed to be replaced, so what if by chance you gave us a crap part and to not replace it at least once is insane, especially for the amount of hard earned money we spent on it. Very poor service for a place of such. Do not recommend going there, sears at least has warranties! more

The Best! 8/18/2011

They were fast and accurate. While there found another problem and covered it all in one trip/one service charge. All working great now!! more

Don't trust their on hold music. Customer Service is the last thing on this companies mind. Getting your money is first. Going on three weeks since they first came out to fix my LG refrigerator and still not fixed. They charge $70 just to come out and the rates very depending on where you live. The first time they came out I was charged $125 just to look at the 2.5 year old refrigerator and that was after I complained about wanting $200. All the tech did was look in the back of the unit and then said he didnt have the parts on his truck, it would take a few days.... A few days (4 total) goes by, no call or email. So I called myself. Three more days later, he comes out again, opps wrong parts. Comes back the third time and now my compressor is bad. Tech tells me he would get back to me on the cost to repair. Three more days go by, I have to call them again. LG says the part was under warranty. Folsom Lake Appliance said it wasn't and would cost me for the part and $560 for labor to install. In the end they wanted about $900 to fix my unit. I called LG, just to be told that installation of a compressor should only be $150 at the most and the unit would have been shipped to them overnight at no charge. I called the owner (or the guy who said he was the owner) and told him what LG had told me (which I recorded for my records). He just said, he charges his own labor hours. He did give me a partial refund after telling him how poor his customer service was. Refrigerator is still not fixed. LG is sending someone out to repair it right and at $150. I would suggest not using this company. I hope my story helps someone not go through the same nightmare I did. more

Great example of Great Service 9/26/2010

From the friendly staff answering the phones to the follow up phone call making sure my appliance was fixed a few days after the tech completed his job, I had great service from this company. I would use them again and recommend them to others. They didnt over charge me either. more

What were they thinking ?! 9/14/2009

Charged $60 for service call, and asked $500 to fix an 8 years old dishwasher that needed the electronic control panel replaced. Unfortunately with that the whole console assembly needed to be replaced since the ""start"" button didn't have the cover anymore, and that's what caused the panel to fail in the first place. The price was split at $200 for the panel and the rest for the door. When asked about parts prices, I was told that the control panel costs $120 while I saw it for $56 online and it says the MSRP is $71 (same price SEARS would charge). Clearly they didn't want to do the job, or I can't explain how they expect people to pay $500 to repair a dishwasher. They also refused to install the panel if I had bought the part myself for $60 online (new from a dishwasher repair parts store only!). Guess what? I can remove 15 screws and a ribbon cable myself ! Pros: Local Cons: Expensive more

Poor customer service 2/10/2009

Very poor customer service. Ordered the wrong item, but they refused to return/exchange the part, even though it was unused (unopened). After multiple emails/phone calls, I was told that they have a ""no return - no refund policy"". However, I purchased the item over the phone via credit card, and this policy was not comunicated to me at the point of sale. This is just bad business practice. I do not recomend Folsom Lake Apppliance repair for parts. Also, if this is how they treat walk-in customers, I wonder how they treat repair calls? Do they charge you for work, even if they don't do it? Do they charge you for work, even if it turns out to be the wrong work? Pros: none that I can think of Cons: Bad customer service. Bad return policy. No concern for customer satisfaction. more

Bad, Bad return policy (as in 12/14/2008

I ordered a part (non-electrical ?Front Panel?) for a Maytag dishwasher. The cost of the part was approximately $50. Folsom Lake Appliance asked me to pay over the phone at that time with a credit card. No mention was made to refund or return policies. Upon arrive at home, I opened the box and it became immediately apparent the part was the wrong part. I immediately re-package the part. I called the store the next morning, and was informed that they do not take returns. I let them know that I would be willing to pay for shipping or a reasonable re-stocking fee (10 ? 15%). Folsom Lake Appliance let me know that they would charge me a 50% re-stocking fee. When I pointed out that this was excessive, the person on the phone informed me that they were not making any money from me and hung up on me. Pros: It has a convienent location (and that is it) Cons: The return policy ensures that they make money, even if you buyt the wrong part! more

Excellent repair skills, Great customer service 10/27/2006

I've used Scott and Folsom Lake Appliance several time over the past 2 years on a variety of appliance issues. Each time, he arrived on time, was friendly and easy to talk to, and most importantly, fixed my appliance problem. I like the fact that Scott covers a wide range of appliances. From wine fridges to washers and dryers. We now use his safety check program once a year to make sure all our appliances are working properly. Pros: Fixed it right the first time. Easy to communicate with. more
