Latondress Auto is a very reliable place for auto repairs. They are reasonable and do a great job. We have been able to trust them. They usually get the work done in an average amount of time. Great office staff. We have been completely satisfied with all their work. We would highly recommend them. more

I took my vehicle into there shop, I was referred by a friend to go there, they explain everything in detail, what is wrong and what they are going to fix, I feel very comfortable and happy with there services, now I will be the one referring them to other friends ! more

If you do not believe in first impression is a lasting impression let me explain. I took my car to Latondress thinking I was low on freon which wasn't the case. Turns out I had a hot/cold motor that was sticking and preventing my ac from blowing cold. Keep in mind I searched the internet for this shop because my kids were attending classes at TSU and I live in Smyrna. After Jeff personally walked me back to show me the problem I decided to have it repaired there. At the end and I was charged for the diagnosis and let's just say Jeff fat fingered my charge in the hundreds so I was out that money for three days and counting the weekend until it was credited back to my account. Not good on my first trip to the shop. Bottom line Jeff put the part in at no charge offered to write me a check and even through in a car wash. I'm hooked...and just when you think "make it right for the customer" has left the service industry, Jeff and his business will always rise to the top because of their hon more

I have been taking all my vehicles to L.A.W. for several years. No matter what type of car it is, from Toyota to GMC the L.A.W. staff has always been knowledgeable and professional. The service I receive is second to none and does not break the bank. I would not take my vehicles to anyone else. more

I made my most recent trip to Latondress this week for a brake job and a few other things. As usual, the service was great and the price was very reasonable. I have been having work done there for 15 years and have alwalys been treated fairly. The only thing I would suggest would be to call in the middle of the afternoon to make sure your car will be ready at the end of the day. I will not use any other mechanic in Nashville! more

I saw some of the reviews posted and wanted to add that I recently went to this shop and was also very unsatisfied with the attitudes and misdiagnosis I got on my truck. When I asked questions the people there acted like I was inconvienencing them by asking. I quickly became uncomfortable with the lack of communication and how long it took to get an answer and in turn decided to go elsewhere. It seems that the workers there get their bad attitudes from knowing they arent knowedgable about cars. I dont know, but I will never recommend this shop to anyone. There are way better shops in Nashville that are affordable and have people that want to help you with your car. Latondress is terrible. more

THESE PEOPLE ARE HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL. i TOOK MY CAR THERE TODAY TO HAVE THE AC LOOKED AT AND AFTER 4 HOURS CALLED TO CHECK THE STATUS OF DIAGNOSIS. THE GUY I TALKED TO WAS NOT KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT CARS AND THEN IT TOOK HIM FOREVER TO GET A SENTENCE OUT. ON TOP OF IT HE WAS NOT MAKING ANY SENSE. HE SAID THAT THE OTHER MECHANICS I TALKED TO DIDNT KNOW ANYTHING AND SO WHEN I ASKED HIM WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS WITH MY CAR HE THEN ADMITTED HE DIDNT KNOW. I WAS GETTING THE VIBE THAT THEY WERE GOING TO RIP ME OFF SO I HAD A FRIEND OF MINE TAKE ME UP THERE TO GET THE CAR AND WAS VERY POLITE WHEN ASKING FOR THE CAR. IN RETURN ALL THE GUYS UP THERE GANGED UP ON ME BEING VERY RUDE AND SAYING THAT THEY WERENT GOING TO GIVE ANYTHING AWAY AND WERENT STUPID BLA BLA BLA. I FINALLY JUST CUT THE MANAGER OFF IN MID SENTENCE AND SAID LOOK I WILL PAY YOU FOR LOOKING AT IT AND THATS IT, I REFUSE TO GET IN A RIDICULOUS ARGUMENT. EVERYONE THERE HAS SERIOUS CHIPS ON THEIR SHOULDERS. THEY DIDNT SEEM TO UNDERSTAND THAT I WAS MOVING OUT OF STATE AND DIDNT HAVE TIME FOR THEM TO GUESS WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MY CAR AND DO A TEMP FIX. Let me make one thing clear: LAW sometimes takes a long time to fix a car, so if you are in a hurry, then you may want to go somewhere else. But if honesty and low price are your most important criterias, then I would definitely recommend these guys. I've had my Focus fixed several times here, and there were a couple occasions where I didn't give him permission to fix something, but since he had already done it he just decided to not charge me. I've never had a repair of his go bad either. more

Don't trust this place w/ your car. They can't even diagnose simple brake issues!!! Crest Honda told us we needed to replace the right rear caliper for a leak in our Honda Accord but they were going to charge us way too much. So we took it to Jeff at L.A.W. He replaced the caliper but had to keep the car an extra day b/c the brakes were still not working. He said he didn't know what was wrong. In my opinion any auto shop should be very well versed on brake issues but not this place. He told us we needed a new AntiLock Brake System module and it would cost $900. We didn't think it was the ABS so we paid him for his services and took it to a shop that specializes in Hondas. Turns out the caliper LAW put on was bad. We called Jeff to let him know what had happened and said we would bring the bad caliper back to get our money back. He said he wouldn't give us our money back, but he would replace the caliper again if we brought it back to him. Why would we trust him w/ our car again when he didn't do the work right the first time?? So we are out that money and he did absolutely nothing!! And if we would've trusted him in his opinion about the ABS, we would've been out $1000 and our brakes still wouldn't have worked!! Even though this place is priced competitively, it's worth it to spend more money at some place that knows what they are doing!! more

I just moved to Nashville and my A/C didn't work. After doing some research on the internet I decided to take my truck here...I could not have made a better choice! The work was done at a very fair price. Jeff (If you notice most of the reviewers refer to him by first name) located the needed parts at a great price and his labor rates are very low for the quality you receive. Like other reviewers have stated...if you want your car fixed right the first time go to Latondress. more

I was referred here because I go to school with the owners daughter. I was not disappointed by the work that Jeff put into my car. It needed a new transmission, had an oil leak, and something wrong with the starter! He was affordable and went out of his way to find the cheapest parts knowing that I am a graduate student and can't afford much. He was very kind and explained everything to me BEFORE he did anything to my car (which I appreciated). \r His shop isn't anything fancy, so if you're looking for the ritz don't come here-- but if you're looking for a good, honest man who will fix your vehicle for a good price Jeff's your man! more

Jeff is an expert, honest mechanic, and a very busy man. If you want your repairs done honestly & properly, this is the place to go. Remember, he's a auto mechanic- NOT a customer service therapist. Sometimes it takes a little longer than expected, but it's always done right, & it's always a fair price. L.A.W. is the real deal. more

I was referred here by a friend, and after several visits getting the same treatment I stopped going. They simply WILL not return a phone call, their prices seem competitive but they are so busy that they can never get your car fixed in a timely fashion. And when I confronted them about this they were like if you dont like it tough find another mechanic. On top of all of that they MISDIAGNOSED my car sent me to the Ford dealer with a supposed 100$ fix that in reality was a 950$ fix... Warning stay away from this shop... whatever money you save on his rates is not worth the HASSLE. Cons: Horrible Customer Service, Misdiagnosed my Car more

What a relief to find a mechanic that is honest, reliable and consistently tries to do a good job. Jeff is the very rare mechanic who actually apologizes when the bill is high and seems to want to give you a fair price every time. more

I have not had a better experience at a mechanic or auto repair shop in more than 40 years. The auto shop manager, Jeff, could not have been more informative, helpful, and honest. He checked my auto, said he could do the work necessary, but that it would probably happen again and he didn't feel he should take my money and then have a broken car again. On top of that, he refilled the oil and fluids and did the checkup labor and didn't charge a dime. If only other mechanics operated as ethically and responsibly then mechanics would have a better name. He stands out among any kind of servicemen. Pros: Wonderfyl experience and total honesty. more

I took my Grand Cherokee in to have the starter replaced (relatively minor procedure). I dropped it off around lunch, and it was done that afternoon. The price was exactly as quoted which was less than half some of the other places I called. I got to speak to Jeff for a while, and he was a very friendly guy. I mentioned I had found him on Citysearch, and he immediately started joking about the one guy who posted the bad review. Jeff is a busy guy. He has a reputation as an honest and fair mechanic, so a lot of people come to him. Sometimes that means you might have to wait a little longer, but you just have to be patient. You can't call every hour expecting an update. He will call you when he has sometime to tell you. I was very pleased with the service and will be taking my Jeep back in as it seems I will need a new catalytic converter. Pros: Prices more
