We took our car in for diagnostic checking because it was lagging when the accelerator was pushed. Kniesels charged us $129.00 for 1 hour of diagnostic checking. They called me after that one hour and said they had found out some wrong things but still didnt know all that was wrong. I told them I needed to know all that was wrong and they said they would have to bill us another hour. They called me back and gave me a full report and estimate. All together, just the diagnostic check cost us $259.00. I called the Toyota dealership and asked them how much they would charge for diagnostic checking and they said $115 per hour, so we found out the hard way that Kniesels is even more expensive than just taking it to the dealership. We asked around with some friends and found a smaller shop from a close friend that said he only charges $80 and hour for diagnostic checking. Kniesels is among the most expensive shops in Sacramento. I hope I was able to clarify the difference between an hourly rate and a Diagnosis. The diagnosis charge being $129 is not an hourly rate, rather the price for a series of tests that our technicians perform to first understand the problem and then formulate a plan to repair the vehicle. I do apologize that in the end we did not meet your expectation of how much time and money it should have taken to complete the detailed diagnosis and estimate to fully repair your 1997 Corolla. With many cars the diagnosis process is not nearly as labor intensive or complicated as it was in your case. This is noted on a prior vehicle that you brought in for a different concern where we actually charged you of what you were originally quoted. Please understand we cannot compete with your relatives pricing who is now working on your car. Our goal here at Kniesels is not to be the cheapest, rather to be the shop that provides you with accurate, thorough, dependable diagnosis and repair that we stand behind confidently and back with a 2 year/24K warranty. I know we have seen both of your cars multiple times over the past year and hope to have the opportunity to earn your business in the future. Excellent service would highly recommend more

Well Here it is the holidays and what happens.. My car breaks down on me.. Not a small break down but one that in the end was major. Now having said that and of course not being happy about having a broken car.. Kniesel's in Citrus Heights treated me right. They gave me a fair estimate offered options that allowed me the choice of how to best fix my car. They were professional from the start and kept me informed about what was happening to my ride.. If you have to have work done. This IS the place to go. I will never take a car off warranty to the dealer again. Keep up the great work you guys rock more

I took our 2004 Envoy XUV in for a 60,000 mile service. Their quality of work is tops as is Mike's handling of the service order. The complementary shuttle service is great. I highly recommend Kniesel's to anyone who wants high quality work for their vehicle for a fair cost. Don't take your car to a dealer for service. Thanks for your great service and courtesy! more

We have been using Kniesel's for over 15 years and have been completely satisfied with everything they have done to our vehicles. From oil changes to a complete brake overhaul (they burned up)to auto body repair, etc. You name it and they have just about done it to our cars. more

Kniesel's Auto Service Center is great. I recommend them all the time. I had used another company for a good number of years, but the owner retired and sold the company, and when a neighbor told me that he was getting service from Kniesel's, I decided to go there too. I went to the one here in Roseville, though I did go over to the other one for a check that they didn't do in Roseville. Any dealings I've had with them have been excellent. They bend over backwards to help me. They have done basic oil changes and thins like that, but I also just had a master cylinder redone on my wife's car, and on my truck they did the breaks. They could have sold me all new breaks, but they told me that all they needed to do was turn the brakes, and they did, and they saved me a lot of money. I don't have any problems with them at all. more

The shop was able to get my car in right away and replace my cracked radiator and old hoses. My car was washed, vacuumed and running like new when I picked it up. more

Every auto service center should be striving to model and emulate Kniesel's service model, as well as the all important area of customer service. Until I discovered Kniesel's, I didn't think an auto service center existed like them. Now that I have found them, I won't be taking my car to anyone else! They know how to fix your car right the first time, and the customer service is second to NONE. I couldn't recommend them more highly. They are AWESOME! more

Mike Burrel was very informative, kept me updated on all work performed on my vehicle. I was a little weary, but you were selected for me by the CAP program through the BAR. I will go to DMV and pick up the tags in the morning. I was treated with respect and as if I had a brain and I liked that about Mike! He understood that my car is my independence and that I do know a great deal about car repair, I was taught by my brothers. Somethings however I do not have the equipment to fix and it's good to know there are folks in your neighborhood that will have what you need to get her fixed. I will tell all my girlfriends and guyfriends to try Kneisal's because of the great PR, Mrs. No No and the excellent work and information! Thanks for taking care of my baby!
