I was provided wonderful care while at Kindred Clear Lake! I was very sick and was admitted to the ICU. Thanks to the amazing care I received I was able to leave ICU and move to a regular room. I will be leaving soon to continue my recovery and rehab at another hospital. While I have been here at Kindred it has meant the world to me that my status as a US Navy veteran was recognized and respected. All of the people who took care of me made a point to thank me for my service and they will probably never know how much that truly meant to me. Being recognized and respected as a veteran gave me a boost of positive energy and reminded me of who I used to be and hope to be again! more

The staff at Kindred is wonderful and everyone has been so kind to me and especially kind to my husband. We have been married 70 years and to say the least he is very very important to me! The staff here understand that and treat him as well as I would if it were me taking care of him. We had a very bad experience at another hospital before we came to Kindred and it has been such a relief to have him here where everyone genuinely cares! He has been in the ICU and the High observation ICU as well as the 2nd floor here at Kindred and without exception everyone has provided exceptional care and done it with a great attitude! more

My husband was transferred from Clear Lake Heart Hospital to Kindred Hospital Clear Lake in March. He was discharged from Kindred in June and was then treated at the outpatient wound care clinic for several weeks. Due to the life saving medical expertise of Dr. Maria Guidry and the amazing team of wound care nurses under Sandy E., my husband and I were able to celebrate our 61st wedding anniversary! We attribute their special attention and constant care to his recovery. We highly recommend Kindred Hospital Clear Lake for expert wound care. more

Dr. Guidry and her entire staff are wonderful! Very professional and explain everything in detail so that you understand. They are always willing to answer all questions and address all concerns. AMAZING STAFF! Erica is always kind and courteous. She always returns calls promptly. Appointments and billing are explained and you are treated with courtesy and respect. Dr. Guidry is just absolutely amazing! Always kind and patient. She really seems to care about her patients. I wish she was in general medicine practice so I could see her for ALL of my medical needs! All of the nurses in the clinic are also wonderful! They take their time to explain their care treatment in detail, making sure you understand and have the supplies you need. They patiently answer all questions and return calls promptly. I really can’t say enough positive things about my experience with Dr. Guidry and her staff! The wound that I had was the worst thing (medically) that has ever happened to me…the most painful experience I have ever had. I hate going to doctors but I did not mind going to see Dr. Guidry. (And her staff!) Thank you for everything! more

My husband had a stroke and then while in the hospital being treated for that he got COVID. One of his doctors told me about Kindred Clear Lake and suggested that I take him there for further treatment. Honestly I was skeptical at first because I hadn’t heard of Kindred and didn’t know what long term care meant but I am so glad that we made the choice to come here! Everybody has been so kind and you can tell that everyone who works here really actually cares. My husband has made so much progress in the month that we have been here and we are both looking forward to continuing his recovery at the rehab hospital. more

I was seen at the outpatient wound care clinic at kindred clear lake. Everything was EXCELLENT! Dr. Guidry and the staff were professional and had excellent bedside manner. Great experience! more

My husband was a patient in both the ICU and the 2nd floor at Kindred Clear Lake. Thank you ALL from the bottom of my heart! My husband can be difficult at times but he was won over by the staff at Kindred. A billion thank you’s for being so amazing! I cannot say enough how grateful and happy I am for the kindness both me and my husband received! I would like to give a special “shout out” to Tracey, the PBX operator, for always being a joy any and every time I called. I looked forward to hearing her voice every morning and to seeing her smiling face. (I will probably STILL call just to be able to talk to Tracey!) more

My stay has been good overall. Both my therapists, occupational and physical therapy, have been good. I get the vibe they really care. They encourage me and help in any way they can. Nurse Mark has also been great. He has a joyful spirit and sense of humor. He is very open and engaging which made my days better. My son works as my advocate and gets meetings with my doctor to keep up with my care. The staff and the hospital talk to him too. I’m very impressed with the degree of care people have here. more

My family and I would like to take the time to express our sincerest gratitude for the care my husband Andrew (aka A.D.) received while he was a patient in your facility. He was admitted to Kindred Hospital after 3 weeks of care at HCA Clear Lake for a massive infection that surfaced 3 years after quadruple bypass surgery he had undergone in March 2020 at UTMB. Under the direction of Dr. M. Guidry, A.D. received the ultimate wound care for his chest wound which was mostly performed by Mia D. Her knowledge and devotion to her career eased our minds. She was always forthcoming with information that enabled us to make educated decisions regarding his care. His condition continues to improve! After 2 months of care at Kindred he was discharged on June 6th with home health. Your facility is fortunate and blessed to have someone like Mia who truly cares about patient care! There are many others who cared for A.D. who I would also like to mention. These staff members are truly blessings to your facility and to the patients they care for. (But I will still add Mia to the TOP of the list as she has been extraordinary in the wound care portion of A.D.’s stay at Kindred.) Mia D. Connie A. Sharon G. Tonya G. I have been at Kindred for the past 6 weeks. I was at a different hospital then transferred here for intense long term IV treatment. It was somewhat upsetting to accept the fact that I would be away from home for so long but the staff was very accommodating and made sure I was comfortable in my “home away from home”. They upgraded my TV to a nicer flat screen TV and brought me a very nice (and comfortable) recliner. It didn’t take long to become familiar with the staffs daily and nightly routines. I went to the gym on weekdays to exercise my legs and also walked the halls. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly so that made my long stay more comfortable. I’m definitely ready to go home but I feel like I’ve made some new friends here! Thank you, Kindred! more

Our mother was admitted to Kindred Clear Lake in March for therapy and other treatments. Initially she was very depressed and did not want to participate with anything. Thankfully, with encouragement from the staff and our family, she did finally start to participate and her health improved. She even passed her swallow assessment and was cleared to eat soup. The Lubys tomato soup was her favorite! The entire staff was good! We love how every time someone would leave the room they never left without asking if there was anything else mom needed... There were a few people who stood out for how genuine and caring they all were. Alix and Fernando from therapy, The PA Al who covered for the infection doctor, Dr. Peter Haddad and Jessica from speech therapy. There is a sign in the lobby that reads, “Kindred Healthcare’s mission is to promote healing, provide hope and preserve dignity for each patient we serve.” We saw that in action every day at Kindred. more

When my husband was transferred to Kindred Clear Lake the doctors told me he only had about a 10% chance of surviving. He had the flu and RSV and developed pneumonia. He was very sick and I was very worried about him and wether or not he would pull through. We were admitted on Christmas Eve and remained at Kindred until March 21st. I know without a doubt that he survived because of the care he received at Kindred CL. The entire staff was amazing but I want to especially mention April and Chet from respiratory... Lana, Paul, Laurie, Lyra, Delia and Ana from nursing and Dr. Gupta and Dr. Moussad. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! more

The nursing staff is great! They really take good care of me. The CNA techs are awesome! Especially Melissa and Gracie! I enjoy being able to order my meals daily. Kindred Hospital has a very compassionate and caring attitude. It is like a big family giving you a big hug! I know when I push my nurse call button that if I need repositioned due to my sacrum wound or any other help with anything the nurses and CNA techs are ready and willing to help me out. It may sound silly but while I have been here I have felt a bit like I am on vacation! The staff is extremely attentive and quickly attended to all of my needs. The food has been delicious with plenty of options to chose from. The nurses have all been kind and compassionate as well as the nurses aids have been too. I would be most happy to recommend this hospital to anyone’s! more

I was very pleased with my stay as an inpatient at Kindred. Everything was good but the physical therapists were all GREAT and very helpful. I enjoyed every session with all of the caring people in the therapy department. When I was discharged home I was thankful to continue my wound care at the outpatient wound clinic. The staff in the clinic were all very courteous and kind. I was happy to get to see Dr. Guidry as she was the wound care doctor I knew from when I was an inpatient. I only had the occasional wait to see the nurse/MD and when I was seen I was always very comfortable. more

I had a very nice experience. The care was top notch and no one was ever too busy to stop and chat.. The food was delicious and I wasn’t surprised to find out that Lubys is the food provider. I am moving on to a nursing home but I wish I could just stay here. more
