Kindred Hospital Clear Lake

I wondered if everyone was screened when they hired on because it seemed that everyone had such a caring spirit from the minute I walked in. All of the nurses have been concerned about my care and my recovery. The nurses and techs watched over my care closely and made sure I got things timely. Nurse Comfort was always proactive and showed up right on time. Heather would work with me on the weekends. She helped care for me physically, mentally and emotionally. She was always there for me and I appreciate her. In fact, every nurse that I had were great, but those two stand out the most. The therapy team, Glesson and Paul could tell when I needed to get out of my room and go outside. They would take me out for fresh air. They made me feel like people really cared. Housekeeping, dietary, and every other department has been courteous and kind. I never thought a hospital stay could be such a blessing. If I ever had to be in a hospital for an extended amount of time, this is the place! more

I would say definitely go to Kindred Clearlake! They really care and they are prompt to deliver care. We never had to wait on anything. They come in to my husbands room prepared with the supplies they need and pharmacy stocks the medications and supplies in the room so nurses can quickly do their job and get it done thoroughly. We had a better experience here than the main hospital. I want to thank nurse Kenya for being wonderful and for going the extra mile. She worked closely with the doctors and other departments to make sure my husband had everything lined up for his discharge. Lizette and Mia in wound care are fabulous advocates that also go above and beyond. We appreciated that Nurse Carleta would pop in and check on us often. She was always very thoughtful and professional. Tameka and Torey were also very sweet. Really they were ALL wonderful caregivers at Kindred Clear Lake more

They have been very professional group of people that work together very good. When they come in my room they give me their name and greet me nicely. They make me feel like I'm at home with family. more

Its a very good hospital. The staff are friendly and caring. This was my first time at Kindred and I have had a good stay. Heather has been a very good and nice nurse. more

This is my 5th hospital since February. Here I've gotten more attention by the doctors and caregivers than any of the others. My home health nurses got me connected to Dr. Memon and I'm so thankful they did, because he saved my life. At that time I felt like this ordeal was never going to end. I decided to give one more doctor a chance. I'm glad I did. He really turned things around. My wounds are finally getting better. I've notice improvement in other areas too. I don't look like a scarecrow anymore. I've put on some good weight. I feel like I can see an end to all of this now. more

They communicated very good with us. Especially in Spanish. My therapist did a great job explaining how to do things the safest ways too. I learned a lot. more

This is the first time I've been in the hospital but its the best I could imagine. They have the best people in the world. I was treated like a king. They all treated me with respect. I hope it's the same at the next facility I go to. more

Ive had excellent service from everyone at this hospital. I'm reluctant to leave. The majority of them have had good manners and are easy to work with. They are exceptional. They made me feel I was among family. I want all the staff to know how much I appreciate their effort to help encourage them to keep up the good work. more

I've had an excellent hospital stay, really. They are right on top of everything. They send someone right in if I need help to see if something is wrong. I was impressed that the doctors actually came to talk to me and explained things. It's a very sterile hospital. Every time you turn around they are washing their hands. When they come in the room, out of the room, they are always sterile. They make me feel like I can trust them. Like they are here for me no matter what is going on. Most of the nurses have been really sweet and this hospital has better food than most others. more

You are making a wise choice by going to Kindred Clear Lake. My experience has been outstanding. They work as a team and are friendly in every way. Staff go out of there way to be helpful. From the cafe staff all the way to the head nurse and administrators they do whatever it takes to make sure you are comfortable and have a good stay. There were many employees that stand out. Janie, Sharon, Anna in ICU, Kay in Respiratory were all so friendly. They came to me and befriended me in a time that I really needed it. Alma spent some very rough nights with me and she stayed so calm the entire time which helped me relax. I knew she knew what she was doing and I could trust that I would be taken care of. Victor is such a delight. There is never a time he doesn't have a smile. The therapy team is superb. Larry and I came up with a plan and set up goals. He explained that they work as a team and was very reassuring that anyone on the team could get me where I needed to go. Katy, Paul, and Aaron were all fantastic and are extremely knowledgeable in their field. There is power in prayer and Janeth recognized that I needed a different kind of support from someone else. She took time out to pray with me. That was a pick me up and made me realize that prayer works and there are many out there fighting battles worse than ours. My list goes on and on too long to list them all. I have made progress here and I'm ready to go to the next step. Just like Ellen says on her show everyday, "Be kind to one another." That's what I've found here. more

This is an awesome facility. The personnel here is so professional and they treat you so good. They are guardian angels, they support you. All of the therapists in the gym helped me reach my goals. The nurses and the assistants did too. If I have these issues again, I will choose this hospital again. This is the best hospital I’ve been to and it’s the best care for me. They deserve more than 5 stars. They should get 10! I will miss everyone here. more

It's a great place. The rooms are kept clean and the staff is real nice. We haven't met anyone that has been bad. They treat us well and the food has been good. Larry from the gym is very patient. He goes way beyond what he needs to do and is very friendly. All the nurses have been nice, I can't pick any one to recognize because they were all great. There is more to do but we are moving in the right direction and making progress. I think we chose the right facility. At first its kind of scary, when making decisions on where to go. We are glad we picked Kindred Clear Lake. more

This hospital is great for any patients. They take care of very sick people here and still do a great job. I've been sick before and this hospital stay has been very good. Everyone has been nice and they did good to control my infection and my rehab recovery. I thank all the employees and the doctors too. They did a super job. I have improved a lot for an old man and my speech has come back and I'm getting it together now. PS- The tech named Jeff is the best! He is very nice and is always courteous. more

Kindred Clear Lake is awesome! Everybody is attentive and they take care of you. When you say you want something they get it for you. I've been to other hospitals in the Houston area, and I can say Kindred is a good place to go. more

It's a great place to go to. I notice good team work with the nurses and all departments. I have no complaints. They have been good to me. If something I needed wasn't available they found a way to make it available. I highly recommend anyone to come here for hospital care and rehab care. I was at my lowest when I arrived and they nursed me back to health. I have come a long way. I'm so thankful. Thank God and thank everybody at Kindred Clear Lake. more

My friend recommended the outpatient clinic at this hospital so I decided to look into it. I'm so happy I did, because the nurses and doctors were wonderful. The clinic was excellent! The nurses were gentle and knowledgeable. The doctors offer the newest treatments and quickly noticed that I needed specialized care. The doctor ended up admitting me to the hospital, where I have finally started seeing progress and healing. More doctors need to know about their outpatient clinic. I think I could have healed much faster and avoided the hospital stay if I would have known about this clinic sooner. more

This has been an extremely good hospital visit. The personnel seem to be on top of things. They are warm, compassionate and knowledgeable. As an experienced nurse myself, I was impressed with the rotation of nurses here. They are not assigned to one person all the time, which could get tiresome. The nurses here work well together and seem happy and content. A friend referred me to this hospital and I took a chance to see if one of their doctors could evaluate me. I'm glad I did, because the doctors have been excellent, warm and caring. They visited me every single day, even on the weekends. I have been very impressed. I have had a very good outcome here at Kindred Clearlake. more

I thank everyone that works on second floor and the therapy department. They've all treated me so well. I couldn't ask for anyone better than Jo and Larry in rehab. If I just tell them what I need, they get it done! When I first got to Kindred I couldn't stand and walk. Now I can get up and out of bed thanks to their help. They have a real nice place with big spacious rooms that they keep clean. more

I transferred from UTMB to Kindred ICU because I needed continued critical care. All of the staff here have been so helpful, provided excellent care, and done so in a timely manner. I have so many stories of how the staff have gone above and beyond. While in ICU I began to have an allergic reaction to a medication which started causing a severe rash. My nurse noticed it and she immediately took action to stop the medications to prevent more serious reactions. Troy, an ICU nurse, runs a tight ship, if there was every a problem in ICU he was right there to help. His level of experience is up there so he works efficiently and well under difficult situations. The dialysis nurses are very knowledgeable and they have top notch bedside care and manners. The dialysis nurse, Caprice, is very compassionate, makes good conversation, and she listens to my concerns. Another nurse I had is eight months pregnant but that doesn't slow her down, she is a hard worker because she loves her job. The rehab therapy and respiratory therapist have been great. The Luby's food has been pretty good too. It is helpful to have a menu with various food options to chose from. more
