The Family Members Experience 9/14/2016

When I call to speak with the nurse to get updates about my brother, there are times that his nurse is busy at that moment, Belinda and Alexis go the extra mile to get me the information I need or they get the message to the right person. I really appreciate that. It helped me feel more confident about the care team at Kindred because I couldn't be with him all the time. I also notice nurse Ana at night would spend time to comfort him. Everybody was so good so its hard to mention a few of them. more

Excellent Hospital 8/22/2016

Its a very good facility. I came for my antibiotics and wound care. They have good wound care. Dr. Memon is a good doctor and the wound care nurses were always good company. The regular nurses were attentive to my needs and they make sure I get my food in time. The therapists worked with me in my room, in the halls, and in the gym. When I first arrived I could not walk that much, but now I'm able to walk from one hospital exit to the other then back up to my room! I have no more pain or anything. I feel like I've come a long way. They still assist me but I can do more by myself now. They placed work out equipment in my room so I could work out when I want. The staff was so surprised to see me walking, they were cheering me on in the halls. Bibi Khan more

Comfortable at Kindred 8/12/2016

Everything went according to plan. The service was good, they were all so friendly. The care was good too, they were good about changing my bandages and they were on time when I needed them. It was a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere and I felt at ease. That is important when you are trying to heal. I would return if I had to and I would recommend it to others that need long term care. Sincerely, Alfred Peoples more

Why You Should Choose Kindred 7/19/2016

I put 5 stars but I would give them more if I could! The food in particular was very appatizing and has a good presentation. It was excellent. Almost everything I tried was delicious. The hospital was clean. Housekeeping came by and mopped and dusted everything everyday. The bathroom was always clean. The nurses and the aides were very very attentive. They always ask if you need anything and they tried to find things to do for me. All of the help has been just awesome. Everyone of these employees have smiles everywhere they go. In the elevator, in my room, in the halls. It would be impossible to give them enough praise. That includes the wound care nurses too. Dr. Memon, the wound care doctor was superb. His bedside manor was good and he came to see me every day. Dr. M. Loya was also awesome. The only thing that can be improved is the TV's. Some of the rooms still have outdated TVs and its hard to tell what station you are watching. Sincerely, Mary Hamm more

My Good Care At Kindred 6/1/2016

It was a great. Everything was fine and I would recommend them. The people are nice, the attendants were where they aught to be and if I needed something they were on top of it. If they said they were going to do something, they would. ~Patricia T. more

I Just Want To Say Thanks 5/4/2016

Hospitalization of Dora Jones 4/11/2016

Everyone in the hospital from top to bottom gave exceptional and outstanding service. They were attentive and nice. Even the housekeeper was nice and would stop to talk to us. The receptionist are cordial and welcome us and remember us when we come in. Josh from respiratory was a pleasure to work with. He would smile and interact with my Mom to encourage her. She would wake up just to see him. All the staff provide constant care and attention. Jojo from speech therapy helped us out a lot. She had a great attitude and explained things about her swallowing. She made sure we really understood what was going on. My father stayed with her, even overnight, and I saw the nurses going out of their way to help him out too. I came in from out of town just to make sure she was being taken care of, and when I got here I saw they were going above and beyond for both of my parents. Nurse Micha would take so much time with Mom to make sure she was alert and she had a special interest in her. She had an excellent attitude toward her. She had a big heart and was very caring. Even the floor janitor was nice and made sure to say hi and ask how we were doing. They had specific people that would come around just to ask how the stay was going and they made sure it was going right. We are not sure how Kindred has been able to get so many nice caring people in one place but we are glad we chose this facility. Carl Baldwin's Review of Kindred Clear Lake 3/29/2016

You will get as good care, excellent care, that you can receive at any hospital at Kindred in Clear Lake. The care is good and the staff is excellent. They answer questions and tell you about your medications and what to expect. The therapy department will take you down to the gym and let you work out with therapy there. The facility is clean. They kept my room clean everyday. But even the halls and even outside was clean. The facility is well kept. The food was good too. I liked working with the dietitians. They made sure I had selections to chose from. Wound care is very good to keep up with changing my wound dressings. They did everything to minimize pain and keep me comfortable. They did an excellent job. I came to Kindred from the regular hospital in Galveston, which is a bigger hospital. But Kindred provided more specialized wound care and the experience was better at Kindred because overall the services were better. If needed I would come back to Kindred. They would be my first choice. more

Coming to Kindred By David Rangel 3/1/2016

LTAC was new to me, but the staff was great. They all treated me with courtesy and they made me happy. I felt at home, which was important to me. They all knew how to talk to me and keep me happy. The nursing staff and techs would stay on top of my blood pressure and sugar. They were always checking on me to see if I needed anything. Amanda, the Patient Relations person, was very kind. She invited me to the patient activities and helped me stay involved. I had never been to a Mardi Gras in my life, and she asked me to be in their patient Mardi Gras parade. They gave us masks and decorated our wheelchairs and paraded around the hospital. I really enjoyed it! It made me feel good, not just another patient. Nurses Heather, Craig, Melissa, Chris and Neddy were always on time and easy to talk to. I like when someone talks to me on that level, because it made it easier for me to open up to them. I was able to connect to them and build a closer relationship. I was happy to see some of those nurses training new nurses that were just coming in. I know they were learning from some of the best. One person that really impressed me was Belinda. She would let me know things. Like if my family member called and I was out of the room, she would send the Nurse to let me know. That was more than I expected. That says to me that they cared about my life and family, not just about how the care was going. Everybody was polite and made me feel good. The wound care team took care of my wound. They would do good work on me, changing my dressings and made sure it wasn't getting infected. The crew Lisa, Darla, Brandon, Joe, Lizzette, Tabitha all took time to get to know me. Brandon from HBO went out of his way to make sure I got my HBO treatment one weekend. From PT Megan and Lee were on top of my therapy. They worked me out hard. Kindred Clear Lake is a great place, everyone is nice and they take good care of their patients. I give this facility fabulous marks. I've already told my family members how good they are. Patient, David Rangel more

A Place for Complete Follow Up 2/19/2016

At Kindred Clear Lake they treated me very good and in a timely fashion. Therapy was excellent. They would tell me about what we were going to do, how we would do it, and we set goals. It was a team effort. The wound care team was also excellent. They helped me make significant improvements on my wound. They discussed the treatments with me very well. Adam, the Respiratory Supervisor, was assigned as my leadership ambassador. He went above and beyond for me. He came to check on me to make sure everything was going smooth. We discussed everything. He made sure I was being taken care of at every level. It made me feel important and it reminded me I was not in this by myself. He is a golden guy. more

My Happy Truth 1/26/2016

In the beginning I was afraid because I had never been to this hospital before. The doctor and nurses made me feel comfortable. They helped me change my mind. For that, I am grateful. I want to thank nurses Michael, Sharon, Joy, and Aileen for there attentive service. The techs C.J. and Moreana for rounding so frequently and coming in without even being asked. I am VERY GRATEFUL. Being in a hospital under these circumstances, even though it was hard, everyone teated me good. The respiratory staff was very nice and helpful. When I was short of breath they would be here immediately. Even if it was 2 or 3 in the morning they would come right away. Now I'm breathing well on my own with no mask or anything. The food was good too. I hope I get food like this at my new home. Don't be afraid of going to Kindred. To other patients AND family...this is a fantastic hospital. ~Pedro Saenz more

My Experience at Kindred ClearLake From A Novice 1/25/2016

My doctor recommended this hospital. It was a wonderful experience. I have nothing negative to say about it. The staff was great, They were all nice. The rehab team was very persistent and they helped me going again. I loved the food. I kept telling them to bring me more! I feel like I made some friends here. ~Patricia Daughtery more

An Experience That Will Not Be Forgotten 12/9/2015

My doctor recommended Kindred. I don't remember the first few days of being here, but when I came to I found out I got here just in time. My situation was pretty critical. I found out they have good people here that are ready to help you and answer your questions. The nursing department was exceptional! They pay attention to you, they listen to your problems and try to solve them if they can. The important thing is that they are always there fore you. The doctors came in and always put there hand out to shake my hand and greet me. They were all great. There were no bad doctors. I was well taken care of and all you need to do is ask if you need help if you need it. As Tony the Tiger would say, It was Grrrrrrrreat! ~Reno more

My Hospital Stay Was Excellent 12/1/2015

I've been here twice. I would recommend it to anybody. One reason I came back is because the food is excellent. When you know you are going to be in the hospital for a long stay, food is important. The wound care team is very very good. I like the way they interacted with me and the way they took care of me. The rehab team treated me with high respect. Nursing care was real good. The nurse response to the call button was real good when I needed something. Although at night they would take a longer to answer. If I had to go back into the hospital a third time, I would come back. I appreciate all the fine service that I got, Raymond Gray more

My Stay at Kindred Clear Lake 11/17/2015

All the nurses were attentive and caring. There may have been one or two that were lacking but overall it was a good experience. The aides are good too, unlike what I've heard about other hospitals. That means a lot when you get what you need quickly. I think the doctors were good too. They check on you every day and keep up with you. Both wound care and the rehab teams were great. They were all friendly and motivating. They really want to make you feel better. more

Thank You All From Robert Mansfield 11/11/2015

I have never been in a hospital this long before, but it's nice to know the professionalism that these people put forth really makes a difference. They genuinely care about the patients and their progress. I don't remember the first week being here, but when I came around I could see how great it was. This is truly amazing place. I've never felt this good my entire life. The rehab team was great. They are proud of what they do and they helped me reach my goals that we put in place. The respiratory team helped me get off the trach which seemed like a real miracle. Really, every department that I came into contact with stand alone. Radiology staff was great...dietary was too. They were all informative and friendly. If I had a question, someone answered it. They are all great individually and they all worked well as a team to see my case as a whole. I'm glad this is where I ended up for my acute recovery. I want to write a letter to the CEO so they know how great this place really is for patients like me. more

A Big Thank You From Craig Croft 11/6/2015

This is a good hospital. The food is good too. There were a few employees that I really enjoyed talking to. I want to thank Tameka Capman, she had a very personable attitude and we connected during my time there. There was another nurse that I. Talked to a lot from is from Galveston. We had a lot in common which helped me feel more comfortable while I was a patient. All the departments kept me well informed and communicated with me the whole time. I have nothing bad to say. They were all positive experiences here. Everybody was good to me so I was good to them. more

They Make the Best of A Bad Situation 10/6/2015

I was at the hospital when Dr. Loya came to see me. He told me about Kindred and that they could provide my wound care. My sister, who is a nurse, looked them up online for more information and saw that they had good reviews, so we agreed to the transfer. Even the ambulance driver told me I was going to one of the best places around here. But I still didn't know what to expect when I got there. I was surprised at the warm welcoming when I arrived, and it didn't stop there. I have had the best care since. EVERYONE came to see me and welcome me. They were all over me like ants coordinating my care with every department! They gave me all the information I needed and told me what to expect from the start. The nurses welcomed me and were so helpful with everything. The place was always so nice and clean too. The unit secretary, Truly, always helped out and took care of me. She made sure I was always comfortable and had what I needed. If I needed my nurse she got them for me, if I needed my tech, she would buzz them to let them know I needed them. She would keep me stocked with my daily order of drinks and snack and ice. She always remembered what I like. We had a lot of good laughs. I had a good time joking around with all the staff. My wound care nurses were hysterical and took great care of my wound. Its hard to believe how far it has come along. I was always comfortable in their hands. I learned that this place was a real hospital with good people that provided great care. I'm so happy Dr. Loya introduced me to this place and I'm happy that he was able to continue seeing me at Kindred. If I have to go back to the hospital this will be my first choice. They know how to make the best of a bad situation! Kimberly Pilkington more

KHCL 10/2/2015

The hospital is good. Care from nurses was good. They all did their job well. Therapy is fantastic!!! They did a whole body work out and even took my wife outside for some of the sessions. The wound care nurses came and cleaned everything up. The room was always clean. There were no problems here. They had a language line to help translate when we needed it too. From: O Sun Kang more

Kindred Has The Best Care 10/1/2015

This is my second stay. The first time I was in ICU and nobody was sure if I was going to pull through. They provided excellent care then and helped learn to walk again. I knew this time around, Kindred was where I needed to go. The staff is wonderful. All my nurses and the assistants were Johnny on the spot. They took care of my needs and gave me my meds on time. I'm going to miss everyone. Its like a family here. I recommend this hospital to anyone. Mrs. Maria would come visit me at night. She would comfort me when I needed it. If I was experiencing pain she would stay with me and help me get through it. I hate to leave because I'm going to miss everyone so much. I recommend the third floor. Thats where I was and if I every had to come back thats where I would want to be. If you ask for something, you got it. I couldn't ask for better care. I especially enjoyed my time with nurses Sharon, Ky, Alfonso, Nicole, and the phenomenal nurse Donna. Donna and I had a special connection. She always took time with me and I felt like I was with my Mom. I lost my mother years ago, but I felt as comforted by her as I did with my own mother. The wound care nurses deserve some recognition too. They know what they are doing and they can make miracles happen with wounds! Even if I was walking down the hall and didn't know them, employees would smile and say hi or ask how I was doing. Even my case manager would check on me during the stay. Patient Relations did too. They would arrange games to keep patients engaged and it helped take my mind off of things. I won a prize which means a lot to me. I'll keep it always. They genuinely care about people here. Thank you all for everything! Your patient, Judy Lund more
