Mixed reviews "Overcharged and got the wrong service" but staff was their normal friendly and attentative selves. 8/14/2011

I have been going to this location for quite some time now and usually it is a excellent experience but this time just about everything failed. 1.first service was a full face waxing - website says its $ 35.00 - I was charged $ 45.00 the associate did an excellent job and was pleasant and friendly. I would have her for this service again. I was just over charged. 1. My Manicure was supposed to be a "Restore" and I only got the basic service. We were at the end just before putting on the nail polish when I mentioned it to her. She apologized and that was fine. It's normal that I don't have to remind the associate because they check their calendar to see what services the client has requested. My pedicure was correct because I reminded her which one I had requested. It went just fine and I was pleased with the services. I mentioned I had received the wrong service and the cashier said she would take 20% off my next one. Which was fine. I will double check on the waxing because I didn't ask for anything extra. Overall it was a pleasant experience just a few glitches which won't cause me to not go back...I'll just make sure everyone knows what services I've asked for in the future. Thanks more

Brooke is wonderful 8/13/2011

I can't ever say enough about Brooke. She is a master in cutting hair. She always spends time making everything perfect and I trust her vision for making my hair look just right for me. I always come out of Karen Allen looking great and feeling pampered. more

Brook is the Best! 8/13/2011

A person can tell that she truly cares about her work and takes great pride in what she does. Brook is an artist! Brook made me feel like I was a guest in her home. She is both gracious and kind. It was through living social that I found your salon back in April of this year. I would not have known about the Salon had it not been for this marketing. My daughter Kelly also had a great experience! more

I've had a haircut, eyebrow wax, and facial at this salon so far, and I've had a great experience each time. The treatments I've received are of high quality, and all the ladies that work here are very friendly and make me feel welcomed. The combination of both excellent work and friendly customer service make your time and money spent here worth it. Definitely recommended. more

Rushed and amateurish with too much pressure to purchase other services 8/5/2011

Went in for a wax with Ashley. She isn't the best - her technique is amateurish so when she pulls the strips it hurts more than it needs to. She also misses a lot of spots - reuses the strips so much they don't grab all the hairs. She doesn't go over it to see if she missed any hairs. She also seems really rushed which could contribute to the problem. I appreciate a quick service but not when it hurts, leaves lots of red blotches and bruising and misses so many hairs! At the end of the wax, she slaps on some cream and doesn't even boer to check to see if any wax is still stuck on your legs. In my case it was and I had to ask for a towel to wipe it off. I've been getting waxed for years and she's decidedly below average. But the worst part was the pressure to buy a facial. She does that every time even though I've told her I don't want one! Annoying and uncomfortable. I won't be going back. more

Impress Me 8/2/2011

Overall the salon is a good go to,to have in the address book. For the prices, I would expect more. The staff is young but well trained. What is lacking in experience is made up by frequent group consultations of stylists amist treatment.Not as clean as it should be & complimentary perks that are advirtised on website are often forgotten. I am still looking for a better experience with better quality. more

Gel Manicure 7/27/2011

I had an appointment with Donna yesterday. I've only been to Karen Allen once before and it was such a great pedicure appointment, I decided to try new gel pink and white nails so I made an appointment at Karen Allen Salon. Donna was fabulous...very nice, very helpful and understood just what I wanted. The entire appointment and the outcome of my new nails turned out beautifully. Thank-you! more

Kristen is AWESOME! 7/27/2011

I just love what Kristen does with my hair...and me. She is very intuitive to what my hair needs and always colors and cuts it great. I always feel to at home when I'm in her chair too. She's a great conversationalist and remembers things we've talked about on previous visits. She takes special care when I'm processing by giving shoulder massages and when she washes my hair she give the extra special massage treatment. All in all, it's always an awesome experience!
