I have 2 beautiful Siamese kitties one of whom was suffering from terrible respiratory problems and skin lesions that looked suspicious. Dr. S looked at the cat and had a good idea what was occurring, confirmed with a specialist colleague and then proceeded with a skin biopsy (for diagnosis) and various medications to treat the respiratory problems he was having. She confirmed her diagnosis with the biopsy several days later which was a severe allergy to the ingredients in his cat food! She really saved this little boy's health and life. I wouldn't trust anyone else as much as Dr. S, as we've already taken our other kitties to a local vet who had no clue how to properly diagnose or treat the cats. She is very direct, but I have seen an emotional side to her because she does care about the animals who come to her practice for treatment. We have to drive a great distance to come to Just Cats, but it's worth it, especially since we love our 2 kitties so much and don't want any harm to com more

right connections 6/5/2012

I credit Dr. S's knowledge, and connections with saving my tawny ocicat, Izzy, who I feared had some degenerative nerve condition with gradual loss of rear strength. Clearly he was hurting, and protested being petted over his lower half (ocicats love people). \r Several weeks earlier a shelf worth of stuff fell on him when he slipped while jumping! \r A second vet also didn't know. I freaked, having lost another oci to heart failure at age 5yrs....and took Izzy to the cat vet. \r She is as direct and action oriented as others say - but she cares too.\r Izzy was on the table and she had barely looked at the x-rays, when she was calling a specialist and handed the phone to me. She said "talk to him, he's a nice person". The orthopedic surgeon! We set the surgery for the next morning and Izzy got both femoral heads removed. The breaks were hard to see when fresh but now the bone was dying. I shudder to think what would have happened if I accepted the other 2 vets' opinions! more

None better. 1/4/2012

I had taken my cats to Dr. Schoenberg back in the 90's before I moved out west. When I came back in 2001, and my beloved Joseph suddenly became lethargic and stopped eating, the only place I wanted to take him was Just Cats. After a thorough exam and x-rays, Joey went under anaesthesia for a biopsy. I got the phone call from her assistant, who was very emotional, telling me that poor Joseph and the "largest tumor Dr. had ever seen" and that they felt it would be best to "let him go" while under anaesthesia. As it turned out, I had just gotten a job, it was my first day and as you an imagine, the news was devastating. That evening I got home, and there was a voicemail from Dr. Linda, and she too was crying, and I kept that voicemail for so long because it meant so much to me that she understood how much I loved my boy and how sad she was that there was nothing she could do. I still have the certificate from Trees for Israel hanging on my wall, and when I came back to pick up Joey more

You will never find a better vet on the planet for your cat. Addresses any and all concerns you have with your cat. Her diagnosis skills are top notch. Kudos to her staff as well. I have trusted her expertise for the past 12 years. more

I Do Not Recommend Just Cats 11/4/2010

Linda S., DVM, was compassionate and caring. Her staff, however is nasty, uncaring, cold and rude. The receptionist is the worse. I have never been treated in such a shabby way at a veterinary clinic. I have just moved to Mayfield from Parma, and my 4 pets' veterinary staff at Bartels & Busack are so wonderful, no one can live up their standards. Just Cats is dismal; tiny, less than clean looking, unattractive, and dimly lit. It was a sorry experience. The exams are done in an open room just off the tiny waiting room--so much for any HIPAA policies and procedures being followed. All of the 'confidential' discussion can be heard by everyone in the waiting room. Linda's two assistants gave me that 'daggers' look the whole time I was there, like I was wanting to put down my beloved pet of 18 years. The fact that my senior cat had to be put down was mentally stressful as it was, and the treatment by that gloomy, sarcastic receptionist made the experience even worse. If Linda did an overhau more

Dr Schoenberg and her staff are excellent, caring, professional. I would not trust my babies with anyone else. She is the BEST vet I could hope to have. Sometimes she scowls a little at me when my kits were due for an annual exam oh like 6 months ago! - but that's because she is demanding of herself, of her staff and of your dedication to the health of your own kits. I found her 13 years ago when I moved to Cleveland and I would never think of leaving her practice. more

Can't Say Enough 2/2/2010

My husband and I brought our geriatric kitty to Just Cats. At the time, she was not doing great. Dr. Shoenberg performed a comprehensive array of tests and completely redesigned her care regimen. As a result, our cat thrived and lived over 21 years. Dr. Schoenberg gave our little cat a better quality of life and years we do not believe she would have had otherwise. When the time came to say goodbye, Dr. Schoenberg and staff were very sensitive to us and went out of their way to let us know they shared in our grief. This is a wonderful place to bring your cat for health care. Dr. Schoenberg is always right on with her diagnosis. And my cat has had many issues from allergies to eye problems. I trust her completely with my baby. \r \r I love the atmosphere. It is casual and hands on. No hoopla, just an at home atmoshere. Mom is allowed to come in while her cat is being examined. It keeps them so much calmer.\r \r Thans Dr. Schoenberg, you are the best!\r \r Samson's mom. more

We have been taking our cats to Dr. Schoenberg and the Just Cats Hospital for 10 years. In that time we have had provide a wide variety of care to our cats, and the time, attention, and care that the staff of Just Cats has shown is beyond anything I have had anywhere else. more

Great doctor 8/17/2007

Dr. Schoenberg knows her stuff and her staff is excellent. One thing to realize is that she has a no-nonsense, blunt personality. She is far from rude or disinterested, she is just very focused on giving her patients the care they need. People who need a vet who will coo and talk baby talk for the entirety of the visit will be disappointed. However, if your first concern is the well-being of your cat, you will find that Dr. Schoenberg obviously cares deeply for her patients and gives the best care possible. more

Many good years of care for my cats 6/19/2007

I have used Just Cats for over fifteen years and six cats. Dr. Schoenberg and her staff have provided exemplary service and compassion. The doctor is always professional, the support staff is helpful and caring and the offices/building is SUPER clean. I also appreciate the fact that Just Cats caters to just that, only cats. When my cats arrive in the office, they are not further startled by barking dogs or screeching birds. Whether a simple yearly exam or something that requires deeper examination, I always feel as though I have provided my cat with the best care possible. more

The fact that they are specialized, and treat cats only, indeed enables Just Cats to excel in their field. \r \r There was never any doubt in my mind that my cat was receiving top-notch care at Just Cats. Very helpful and unselfish 9/26/2006

I called Just Cats Hospital to schedule an initial appointment with the vet after my newly adapted cat seemed a bit more lethargic for a few days. After chatting with the receptionist, she felt that I needed to bring the cat in as soon as possible and an a.m. appointment was warranted so that lab results would have a quick turn around.\r \r After finding out that my work schedule didn't allow for daytime visits and that,being new to the area, I had no one available to help get the cat to the office, the receptionist told me about another animal clinic that had evening and weekend hours.\r \r My cat's well being took prominence over securing new business. To me, this tells me that Just Cats really does care about our pets.\r \r If my schedule ever changes or I get to know someone who can transport the cat during the day, I wouldn't hesitate to make Just Cats my veterinary practice of choice. I am the owner of Just Cats Hospital and feel compelled to share my perspective on the events described in her post from 7/11/06 entitled "very disappointed". As a caring and compassionate individual, I took time away from a patient I was seeing to talk to Charlene because my receptionist was so worried about the cat's potential blindness.Since time is of the essence especially in blindness caused by hypertension, I suggested that we see her immediately so that we could assess the cat's blood pressure and if necessary, put it on appropriate medication to try to reverse a retinal detachment. At the same time, we could perform lab work to determine if hyperthyroidism or kidney disease were responsible. The closest ophthalmologists are located in Richfield and Akron. Due to the distance and hectic schedules they both have, a referral to either would be best after we had some idea as to the nature of the problem. Very caring and considerate 11/1/2005

I took my cat to this facility after she began acting sick and not eating. The vet was very understanding and helpful and very obviously not trying to subject my cat or my bank account to all kinds of unnecessary procedures in the guise of prolonging my cat's life. After my cat passed away, the clinic sent me a notice that they planted a tree in Israel in her honor even though they had only ever seen her twice! I highly recommend Just Cats. more
