I credit Dr. S's knowledge, and connections with saving my tawny ocicat, Izzy, who I feared had some degenerative nerve condition with gradual loss of rear strength. Clearly he was hurting, and protested being petted over his lower half (ocicats love people). \r
Several weeks earlier a shelf worth of stuff fell on him when he slipped while jumping! \r
A second vet also didn't know. I freaked, having lost another oci to heart failure at age 5yrs....and took Izzy to the cat vet. \r
She is as direct and action oriented as others say - but she cares too.\r
Izzy was on the table and she had barely looked at the x-rays, when she was calling a specialist and handed the phone to me. She said "talk to him, he's a nice person". The orthopedic surgeon! We set the surgery for the next morning and Izzy got both femoral heads removed. The breaks were hard to see when fresh but now the bone was dying. I shudder to think what would have happened if I accepted the other 2 vets' opinions!
