Best

This is my favorite gun store that I have visited over the past 20 years!!!! The staff should all be commended on their knowledge and level of customer service!

Worst

First and foremost I have bought from Jensen's before because of their vast selection, but never will again. Very few times have I went in and had what I would consider a good sho...

JA ok for me 3/27/2011

New to firearms, I have been checking out shops in N. Colo and I've enjoyed my tour of front range dealers. After reading some of the reviews for Jensens, I had passed them by initially, they didn't sound too good to work with. Eventually, I stopped by their shop and I am glad I did. My experience was quite different from those who have been bashing the customer service, enough so that I had to take the time to come back here and write this review. I'm fairly new to the world of firearms. Was in the market for a 9mm, but not familiar enough with all the different choices. I like to look and learn and check them all out. The shop was fairly busy on the Saturday I visited it. As I began to look over what I thought was a really good selection, a salesperson soon asked if I needed help. Although in the market for a gun, I was a looker and wanted to check out each manufacturers piece for one that was right for me. So, what impressed me was how accommodating the salesperson was. Took his time to show me probably a dozen guns, was patient, asked other salesguys about questions he couldn't answer for me himself, and I never felt pressed although the shop was busy. Must have spent 30+ minutes with me. Well, I really liked about the 11th one he showed me, and I bought it. I love the gun, it was the right one for me and I was glad to find it. So, I had a good experience at Jensen, plan on returning and would recommend them to my friends. Thanks for the great service Craig! more

Understandable Criticisms... 3/13/2011

...BUT If you are looking for purchasing or looking for firearms or related products (except reloading equipment), these guys will likely have it and definitely know what they are talking about. I went several times initially and found similar sentiments as some of the negative reviews. But if one can get their entitlement views out of the equation, these guys are very good at what they do and know what they are talking about. I have purchased my last three weapons there and have absolutely no regrets. I have also seen them take the time with customers even if there was no purchase involved just moved on. I think what people sense is this place is all about their business. They are always busy and the place does run smooth. I keep going back and have concluded that I compare all other firearm dealers against these guys. They have good prices, great knowledge, and everything you'll need in one place. My most recent experience was asking for advice on a faulty holographic site I purchased a few months back. They swapped it out quickly & easily did it with a smile. more

Jensen Arms - no respect 3/12/2011

Nice gun shop but but get ready for some Very rude people. Not everyone is rude The younger fellow Shay is a good guy Ray was a no nonsense guy some say rude but I liked him.He is gone now.The two younger girl's are nice. The rudest person was Bob's sister she went back east. That was two down and it was a bit better for a wile. Now there is a new guy working the back counter that is bad for business. Where do they find these people? Colorado tends to be a friendly place but some of these folks have no respect or appreciation for their customers. I was going to buy a Ruger lcp had it in my hand but this guy's attitude made me walk out. I went around the corner to ACE Hardware and bought the gun from Mike He treats the customers with respect. The Gun was A few bucks cheaper.I was surprised they usually are a little higher in price. Jensens had the S&W 617 I wanted again this guy lost the sale I bought it from BUD's Gun Shop. Bought a Ruger LCR from JAX because I didn't want to listen to this guy. I decided to check them out again this guy is still there. I did buy a Henry rifle this time their price was good saved me about $40.00` I have bought about 20 pistols and rifles in the last three years. 5 of them I purchased from Jensen Arms. The price was good on two I purchased from them. The other three were fairly priced. To sum it up if you go to Jensens you will find a good gun shop but don't expect to be appreciated for your business. If you are to sensitive you will walk out wanting to smack someone. 5 stars for the gun shop Bob doe's a great job in that respect.I give it 1 star for customer service. more

Jensen Arms - the place to go to be ignored 2/1/2011

Wow, nice disparity between 1's and 5's. Either you love these folks or you feel like second class citizens when you visit. I have actually only done business with Jensen arms only once, but have attempted on three additional occasions. My first experience here was for an FFL transaction on a rifle that I purchased online and chose Jensen Arms as the delivery location. Man, it was if I stole food out of their child's mouth! The person I dealt with during the paperwork process tried to lay a huge guilt trip on me for not purchasing the rifle through them. The next three times that I tried to do business with these folks it was if I was invisible. I understand being busy with a customer and having to wait one's turn. But the vibe these people give off is one of arrogance and superiority. After waiting my turn for fifteen or twenty minutes without so much as a glance in my direction or a, ""someone will be with you shortly"", I departed empty handed, angry and disgruntled. Seriously, does this place do that much business with the handful of people who rate them so highly that they can treat so many others so rudely? Maybe so, but they'll never get another dime out of my pocket and hopefully get the message from all the lost revenue from all the others who rated them so poorly. The free market in action is a beautiful thing. more

Bad service, good prices 1/12/2011

Well first off, let me begin by saying old Bob Jensen has pretty good prices; having said that, his customer service skill leaves MUCH to be desired. I haven?t shopped there now in well over two years. After spending thousands there, I was still treated second class AT BEST. more

Colorado's Best Gun Store 12/31/2010

I've been going to Jensens Arms way back when they were on Cleveland Ave, near the corner of 4th Street. Then, when they moved to 4th Street next to Henry's Pub, I went there almost daily. Whether purchasing or just shooting the breeze, I was always treated well. And now, at their current location, I still get the same friendly service from their staff. more

I like Jensen Arms ... 11/11/2010

I have read some bad reviews on this store here and my experience with them is just the opposite. I have visited the store 4 times over the last 2 years. On one visit I bought 2 Glocks and on another visit I bought a Remington tactical shotgun. Every time I have been in the store I did have to wait a few minutes for someone to answer my questions because they are usually very busy - but when it's my turn, they treated me with respect and they answered all my questions (even the dumb ones) thoroughly and candidly. I bought the guns from them because they gave me enough information to make an educated buying decision and their prices were better than any other local gun store. And, I would like to add that during my visits there, I never saw anyone being treated rudely. Richard more

Rude and condescending... 9/20/2010

Been in there several times and every time each person in the store I dealt with, barring one individual, was rude and condescending. Do they do a lot of business with law enforcement or something? Because they act like they don't need the business from common folk. I've overheard them bashing customers, smirking at people with less knowledge than they supposedly have about firearms, and treating people like idiots who aren't quite familiar with the paperwork of background checks. If I didn't feel someone might do something stupid with a firearm, I would've berated every single one of them. I've tried to go in there several times, hoping it was a one off. But it's not a one off if it happens every time. I suppose if I was like them, I would have publicly humiliated the person behind the counter who smugly laughed at me when I commented on how many rounds a specific pistol held in the mag, just for them to pull it out and say ""oh, it does"". more

Sound like a shop of gun carrying racists to me.... 8/31/2010

As an ex Army Officer (Military Police Corp) and an ex Colorado State Trooper and an ex Lakewood Police Agent and a current concealed carry permit holder this place sounds as if they should be out of business. Why would anyone shop at an establishment that clearly disrespects the Commander and Chief of the United States of America?????????? Let's call it what it is. He is an Afro American, and they don't like it. President Obama did not try to shut down the gun trade. And if they use that reasoning or logic to turn away potential customers, they are idiots or should I say idiots and racists. more

Incompetent/Ignorant customer service 8/24/2010

I'v been into Jensens a couple times,Both times i went in to purchase a few items. One of the first things i noticed was how rude and ugly with customes these fellas were. Both times i was turned off from the way they were treating and handling folks.i ended up walking out of the store both times. All the negative stuff you hear is true about this place. I guess they must think they're the only place around. I wouldn't recomend jensens. 5280 armoury folks have a lot higher standards when it comes to customer service. Dont waste your time with jensens. Unless you want to be treated with disrespect. more

Great prices 4/17/2010

They have a huge inventory of AR rifles and accessories (which is why I went in there) as well as many other things. Prices are kick ass too. The bad reviews state sucky customer service. In my case this is not so bad. I spend much time researching online before I step into a gun shop so that I sort of know what I'm talking about. Beyond that all you have to do is ask. They answered all of my questions and weren't condescending at all. One guy stopped eating lunch to help me even after I said that it was not necessary because I'm patient. Still though I can see how people may get offended. Could be how you carry yourself. Not a place to go if you are easily offended. You have to understand, they probably have all kinds of people walk in there that should not even be purchasing guns. On the other hand I do feel it should be part of their job to help educate the ignorant. By not doing so they will only help support those against firearms by putting them in the hands of uneducated people. They do not seem to feel this way which means it is in your hands to educate yourself. I do my research before hand and you should to. There are plenty of resources on the internet to do so. You Tube has plenty of information on firearms and there are a ton of forums to boot. Being an AR, AK, and M14 fan I have learned just about everything I need to know from NutNFancy's channel among others. Between that and actually getting out there and doing it, I can walk into a shop with confidence and not sound too much like an idiot. Pros: Low prices, top of the line products and pleanty of them. Cons: They do not educate nor care to. more

BEST GUN SHOP IN COLORADO 4/7/2010

I HAD TO WRITE AFTER READING THE REVIEWS FROM THE WHINERS. THIS IS A VERY BUSY SHOP. WHY? BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE MERCHANDISE AND KNOWLEGABLE STAFF WE WANT AND NEED. BECAUSE THIS IS A REAL GUN SHOP. BECAUSE THE PRICES ARE HARD TO BEAT. THE REASON THE STAFF IS CURT ON THE PHONE IS BECAUSE THERE ARE CUSTOMERS IN THE STORE WAITING FOR THEM TO GET OFF THE PHONE! THE REASON YOU FEEL LOOKED OVER WHEN YOU COME IN IS BECAUSE YOU ARE LOOKED OVER. SECURITY IN A GUN SHOP IS NECESSARY. I WOULD RECOMMEND JENSEN'S TO ANYONE AND HAVE! Pros: INVENTORY, KNOWLEDGABLE STAFF, PRICING Cons: VERY BUSY SHOP more

Exactly what everyone else has been saying... 3/29/2010

I go to Jensen's quite often to look at their stock and check prices and have bought a few guns there too. Pretty much what everyone else has said is spot on. For one, I was there once when two of the employees started arguing about something and it got so heated that one of them yelled at the other to get outta the store and leave and not come back or it would get ugly. Hmm, ok. No one smiles, they mostly act too busy to help you if you look like a novice, treat you like you know nothing, and seem so up tight all the time...it's like they're all on the brink of snapping constantly. No one cares that you're there. All they want is someone who doesn't agree with them on anything to come in so they can argue about it and look ""cool"". Decent prices/stock but every time I walk in the door I ALWAYS feel this weird sense like I'm immediately being judged and one small slip up and I'll have 5 guns pointed at me. You will NOT feel at ease here. Secondly, I went in to get a 92FS one time and was quickly shot down. His first response was ""glock is a better gun"" and it can be ""thrown out of helicopters and still work"" (cuz I like doing that). I am Air Force and train on the 92 but he says ""SF use glocks and it's a more reliable gun"". After listening to all his ""advice"" I thought ""he must know"" and went with the glock 19, mainly because it was a little cheaper and easier to conceal. I like it no doubt, it's a great gun. So after shooting it a few times I found out glock offers a $100 military discount. Good thing the Jensen's guy told me that too, oh wait no he didn't because he doesn't care. Pros: Decent selection/prices for the most part Cons: Customer service x10 more

Dont wate your time or money with this place 3/20/2010

I'v been into this store on a couple different occasions. The last time i went into the store to purchass a holster, the salesman who helped me out told me the holster i was interested in only came in brown which was incorrect since i wanted black, he told me i was stupid for wanting a black holster and walked off. I usually wear black slacks while at work and wanted it to be the same color. These folks deffintely have a radical edge to them, not only in they're store, but they're attitudes as well, They all seem very angry ESP the little girl behind the counter. the last time did it for me as i decided i will never go back to this place, even as a last resort. Obviously they dont deserve my bussiness. Dont waste your time with this place. they are idiots. Pros: If you like to deal with mickey mouse this is the place 4 u Cons: Genral waste of time more

There is not reason to go here 3/11/2010

I drove up to Loveland to purchase a glock form them. I should have know it was going to be a poor experience based on how I was treated on the phone. If guns were not selling right now, they would be DEAD in the water. Pros: Good selection Cons: They do not care about you, just your money more

Jensen Arms, Great selection, customer service needs work 2/24/2010

I have spent over $6000 with Jensen's, but to date and after several visits, only Ray or Jeff say hello when they see me. I have referred several people who have made their purchase there; and if one of the two above guys aren't there, the service leaves them wanting. Even when it's slow, most of the staff acts put out as if they are too busy to help out. And like others have said, the language is not ""Family Friendly."" The young kid behind the gun case if probably the worst, watch out for him. He is cocky, intolerant, and is really good at making you feel stupid if you if you are new to the gun world! Again, talk to Ray if buying a gun or Jeff if buying a knife. Bob the owner can tend to rub you wrong if you don't where he is coming from but I like him because he is to the point and gives a fair price for trade or sale. Overall the selection is fantastic, the prices are good, but the service leaves you wanting. Again if Ray or Jeff aren't available, wait until they are, or do your shopping elsewhere. Pros: Best Selection around, great gun prices Cons: Customer service needs work more

These guys don't get it 2/19/2010

I echo the other negative reviews regarding Jensen Arms. Selection is OK but the staff is so poor that it is not worth dealing with the company. This is clearly an example how an owner?s attitude can influence an entire staff and leave a negative impression for gun ownership in general. If you want to deal F2F with people you can trust and respect, try Ace nearby. Service is phenomenal and pricing is good. If you know what you want try the internet. I just did some work selling an AR50 and have bought a 45 ACP. Pricing was great, no risk, and you avoid the Jensen hassle. Pros: Out weighed by poor service Cons: Not a clue about customer service more

Rude staff, poor service. Shop elsewhere. 2/7/2010

As others have pointed out, the staff is extremely rude and don't seem interested in helping customers. I spent 30 minutes just trying to get assistance from someone. One salesman said he'd be right over and never showed up. Meanwhile, other customers came in and were given prompt attention, probably because they were looking at $1800 rifles and I was only interested in a $400 pistol. The store was not busy at the time either. When I finally flagged down a salesman, he was visibly annoyed and acted like I was wasting his time. Profanity is liberally used by the staff, often while shouting at one another across the store. Not that it bothers me, but some people bring kids with them and may find it inappropriate. Strangely, the listing for Jensen Arms on Google's local business results has vanished. They had multiple, negative reviews there as well, just like the ones here. Pros: Can't think of any. Cons: Everything. more

Look alike 2/3/2010

I agree with most of the previous comments that this place is for the birds. What were the rest of you thinking? Jensen looks and acts like Ahmadinejad on crack... What a prick! Law enforcement and military have to be their bread and butter because it sure isn't Joe Public. Pros: None whatsoever Cons: That they are still in business more

Don't expect service, but you might be insulted 1/11/2010

This place is a joke. Full of cocky sales people that don't really want you to buy a gun or help in any way. They might know about all sorts of tacticool rifles but they know nothing about O/U shotguns. Save yourself a trip and go somewhere that knows the meaning of customer service. Pros: lots of guns Cons: Rude, arrogant, condescending staff more
