Great selection, horrible customer service 12/12/2011

First and foremost I have bought from Jensen's before because of their vast selection, but never will again. Very few times have I went in and had what I would consider a good shopping experience. Getting someone to help you is usually a hassle, then if you do get some help they're rude. I went in today just to look for a rather unpopular caliber handgun and when I asked about it they acted like I was a moron for looking for it. ""It doesn't sell, we've never had one and never will"" then went onto the next customer. I didn't even get the chance to ask them if they could/would order it in for me. This is not the way to keep returning customers coming back. more

Best Gun Store in NoCO 11/10/2011

This is simply the best gun store in Northern Colorado. I went in there for the first time a couple of years ago with no experience at all with guns. I was treated great and Bob and his team have taken the time to teach me a lot - even when the store is packed - about guns. As far as I'm concerned, that's top customer service. Do you have to wait some times for a sales person? Yes, it's a busy shop. But why complain? You're in a gun store, not waiting in line at the DMV. Any time I have an excuse to stay in a gun store longer is OK with me. Over the 2 years I've bought traded guns and even returned a shotgun I bought there because it didn't fit quite right. No complaints. Happy to take it back. Try that at some other stores. They have the best prices too, beating other stores by a mile. And no matter what, I always felt I was getting a fair deal and that no one was trying to get me to buy something i didn't need or want. I can't even understand some of the complaints I've read in these reviews. What do Bob's political views have to do with anything? It's not like he's handing out pamphlets and standing on a soap box. And does it really surprise anyone that a gun store owner has a conservative political stance? Keep up the good work is what I say to this shop. more

Love Jensen Arms!!! 10/14/2011

So...to all these people writing reviews about how terrible Jensen's is...QUIT YER BITCHIN! I've never had a bad experience stepping foot in there, and I'm a girl. First time I ever went in there, I didn't know what I was looking for/needed etc. ALL of the staff members have been kind and knowledgeable. They have always answered my questions to the fullest extent without purposefully trying to make me feel like some dumb P.O.S. When going into a gun shop, you don't need to put on a front and act like you know everything. I can guarantee that once you open your mouth, they're gonna talk guns right back at ya. The staff live, eat, sleep, and breathe guns. Guns are their passion, so it probably isn't their intention to make you feel like a dumbass, but I can see how a customer might feel like an idiot after talking to them...the staff knows their $hit! My advice is, even if you are a gun owner, don't go in there expecting them to worship the ground you walk on just because you own a firearm(s). There's always room to learn more about a subject/object/hobby if you're willing to listen to advice and information. If you're law enforcement and don't like the way you've been treated when stepping foot in there, it's probably because you went in there acting like a dickhead...don't act like a dickhead, and you won't get treated like a dickhead! As for the tension between the workers in the store...I've felt that too. We've been shopping at Jensen's for about 4 years now and my husband and I have purchased about 3/4 of our guns and ammo at their store. In all the time we've been shopping there, all of the same staff members have been there. The staff are a tight-knit group of people, they're like family. And with any kind of ""family"" in business, there will always be drama. Get over it! Sure there are many other gun stores in business in Denver, Ft. Collins, etc. and we've been to several of them, but we have always found Jensen Arms to have the best prices and the most knowledgeable staff. I have recommended many of my family and friends to them and so far, none of them have been disappointed either. Don't listen to the bad reviews, because overall, this is an excellent place to shop! more

Great prices and selection, poor cust service 9/13/2011

I dont know who the guy is who said "" Who we are politically, occupationally, etc. when we go in there really doesn't matter"" but I bet he is either Bob himself or one of his employees. I have been there many times and know several police officers who go there as well. They all say the same thing. How can he be in business with such poor customer service and political views? (yes, I have seen it and heard it first hand) The answer we all come up with? He has the best selection and prices. So, we go there, buy our stuff and get out. more

Bob Jensen's shop is at the top of the Front Range 8/27/2011

Whether you are military or civilian, man or woman, Bob Jensen runs one hell of an operation in Colorado. Who we are politically, occupationally, etc. when we go in there really doesn't matter. And when you go in there, yes, the products may be the most important thing on your mind. But really, after learning most guns are sold at cost, just how good the employees can be to you, and how there is a lifetime of gear to work up to, the most valuable thing about this shop is that it keeps you coming back. Of all the reviews talking about busy employees and irate personalities, I can only shrug. Its retail, but its a friggin' gunshop people! Keep your $hit together? I mean, look, the owner is on the floor or a few feet away in the back processing mountains of paperwork six or seven days a week, from the time the store opens until after it closes. Bob has devoted his life to this shop - and it shows. The least we can do as customers in a shop this busy is be patient. They are not there every day to screw over the public. So please remove the poles of righteousness from your a$$e$ and head up to Loveland. more

very proffessional...sheep dog personalities 8/19/2011

I have been to Jensen Arms many of times. so mush that i really dont remember my first time going there. for the past 4 - 5 years i have been making frequent stops there and spending up to 2-3 hours in there. i am not local so i get my dose of the store while im there. i am on a military special tactics team, so i know quite a bit about gear and firearms. when i go in there i can really relate to all the workers in there and we share stories back and forth and kind of pick on each other about the being in different branches of the service. all though, i know they do not do it on purpose but sometimes i almost fill stupid when i talk to them about guns. only because they are so knowledgable about firearms. they aren't dicks or anything and its always a learning experience when i go in there. these people are very proffessional though. on busy days i have noticed they give care to each and everyone of there customers some at least 3 at a time. what you must understand for those who are writing bad reviews is that there are two different types of people in this world. you have your sheeps and your sheep dogs. your sheeps are those people who follow and are timid and closed minded and cant make descisions and also take critisism very hard. your sheep dogs are those people who lead the heard and are open minded and make descisions and aren't afraid to speak there mind also know as A type personalities. these guys are'nt afraid to speak there mind and give critisism and take it. they know how too. if you go in there closed minded and timid and a liberal you shouldnt be in there anyway. they will eat you alive, i would. its like a vegetarian going in to a buther shop theres no reason for it. what i am saying is even if you dont have any idea about guns, but you go into this open minded wanting to at least learn and take everything in. and jsut play with a something. they will be more than happy to teach you, show you whats new, sell you something if wanting to buy. they do have some of the best prices there and top of the line weapons. there acssessories are unlimited and maybe not always in stock but they do get everything reasonably fast. they are always willing to work with you and are outstanding people. just talk to them and remember keep an open mind and dont act like you know everything! like i said when i am in there i spend hours and they dont mind. they like to see there customers happy even if it is just getting a big smile on your face when you walk into there store. more

Great service, even to women! 7/27/2011

I went here for the first time a couple of weeks ago, knowing nothing about guns, ready to purchase my first. I'd been to Bass Pro a few times looking for archery and fishing gear for myself, and was promptly ignored - I was there for 10 minutes each time and no one came over to help me, because they were too busy walking past me to help the male customer that just arrived. more

Blown Away...No Pun Intended! 7/14/2011

Imagine three rock climbers all dressed in tank tops and flip flops deciding to go purchase their first firearms. This was the scenario one day as we made our way to Jensen Arms. I had fired maybe 10 rounds ever and was a bit intimidated by the idea of buying a firearm. After all there are so many different types.....I would have hours worth of questions for the sales staff! The Jensen Arms staff was up to the challenge. We were greeted with authentic interest by the staff. They questioned us heavily in order to find out which type of fire arm would suite each of our individual interest. I won't go on and on but the reality of this experience can be summed up by this.......I went down there to get a knife and support my buddy who had a specific fire arm in mind for purchase. I left the store with a very nice hand gun and a 1000 rounds. If you are thinking about buying a fire arm there is only one place to go. I would like to add that most people get what they put out....so show up there, smile and have fun cause that place rocks! more

Best Shop Imaginable - What a 50/50 on this place! 6/27/2011

Reading the reviews, I was ready to tuck and roll away from this place. BUT, since it was so close to my home, I decided to head up. I was a first time gun buyer, a liberal, and quite frankly - ignorant of specifics of mechanics inside the guns. I knew only what i needed to be spending on a model that interested me - AFTER internet research and making a mistake or two along the way. Number one: their prices are AWESOME. Number two: I successfully returned a firearm to Gander Mountain - whom are essentially utter morons and WAY overpriced. I took the same money and upgraded to a great chase and optics, bipod, etc. for just about 100 dollars more than I would have spent on just a naked M&P 15 chase from Gander (went for nice Rock River 20 inch 5.56). Number three: they recognized I was liberal (birkenstocks) but I was legitimately interested in getting to know ""my"" weapon. Several staff members took the time to rehearse gun care, caliber and ammo information - down to the point of practicing tactical stepping and posturing, mounting the optics, and giving me tips on dialing in my gear. Dang! My wife was with me, and we decided on a nice 1943 Mosin for her. They did not make fun of us or turn away if we had questions - they were especially respectful to her and did not treat her any differently than they would have me. FURTHER, during my returning of the firearm, a representative of Jensen's referred me a competitor in Denver to price match my mistake at Gander. Quite frankly, these guys (and girls) are what you make of them - if you walk in with a dikhead attitude, that is what you get back. If you are honestly looking to understand any item in their inventory, let them know flat out you do not know what you are doing. I guarantee, even if you think you know EVERYTHING about a particular firearm, I can assure these guys have some things to add - this will only defeat your ego for a bit, but not everyone is ready to learn something new; most of these guys are Navy Seals, Special Ops, etc. The sniper in there is the sweetest guy imaginable - especially since he knows he can take you out from a mile. Picking up a Sig 226 tactical next month. Again, dam(n) fine staff if you just show some humility and respect. Jensen's Arms deserves the Front Range's business. more

Worst customer service 6/20/2011

Went last Sat 061811. Ready to spend $2000 No one even looked at me or helped me! I left and went to a Denver gun store. I work in law enforcement and I have several people who told me there attitude and service was the worst! I was in the area so I found out for myself .Jensen Arms is not the place to buy, Ask ANY front range certified peace officer and they will tell you this place is no good! more

No problems 6/4/2011

I had to go and see this trainwreck for myself because half the people writting reviews couldn't be this far out. I went about two months ago on a Tuesday around 10am and I did not get the feeling that they liked me but a young guy asked if he could help and I told him that I was just looking at what they had but was wondering if they had any Makarov magazines. I got a few things and didn't have any problem but the place was tense, no one was talking more

Great experiance 5/25/2011

Bought a pistol on Sat from these folks. Individual that worked with us was also helping at least two other customers. Very busy but all questions were answered. While waiting for paperwork to clear we looked around the store and were asked if we needed assistance a number of times. We were able to get aditional questions answered about accessories that would be useful. Great store and wonderful people. more

Idiots! 5/9/2011

So I called ahead of time to let them know about a brand new never fired 9mm gun I wanted to trade in, they said bring it down we don't have many and that is one we would be interested in. So walk in the door, told them why I was here, they took the gun to the floor manager who said he wasn't interested. I said I just called they told me to come down and that they were interested??? He then took it to the owner who also said they weren't interested. Moron's. I called ahead of time to let them know what I had and they told me to come down, I did, then they don't want anything to do with it? more

Satisfied Customer 5/6/2011

I live out of state and emailed them for a price on a gun I wanted. They emailed me back with the quote. I sent them the payment and FFL from my dealer . Six days later I have my gun. Couldn't be happier. more

Jerks with attitudes. 4/22/2011

I?m glad there is a forum for getting the word out. Last year I went there to purchase some ammo. There was an Asian guy working there that farted as he walked by be and laughed and said, ?Good one.? I guess since he had a visible firearm on his side he thinks he?s superman. I wonder how good he really is? And then, to make matters worse, I inquired if there was a military discount on the case of ammo I was buying. I wasn?t talking to fart-boy, but he felt compelled to remind me no less than twice about what a good deal I was getting ? as if I just walked in from a cave and had no idea what I was doing. The next time I go there (if that ever happens), fart-boy better not run his mouth again or we will have words. Why would anyone hire a turd like him? Does he really add value to the team? Have sales increased as a result of bad-ass flatulent arrogance? It?s as if they are the only gun store on the front range and we all have to bow to the Jensen gun lords. JERKS! I gave them a 1 because that's the lowest possible. more

If you want service- Go elsewhere 4/20/2011

I've been in Sales for almost 20 years, and I agree with someone who made an earlier post. They said if gun sales weren't hot right now, they would be out of business. I bought a pistol from there, and the price was OK, you'll be better off getting one at a gun show. I will go there only as a last resort, and you had better know what you want when you go in there, because the help is probably on straight commission. i was looking at a stock for my AR-15. The salesman was good when I was looking at the $100+ stocks and more for the tube and spring, but when I decided on the full stock kit for $70, he practically threw the pack at me and left me. The help sucks, and having a busy store is NO EXCUSE whatsoever for lousy customer service. I don't think the cold fish cashier even thanked me for my purchase, or I would remember it as a positive part of the purchase. They do know their product though, I will give them that, hopefully you can handle the attitude, but that's pretty much it. Less than a star? more
