I recently had the terribly unpleasent experience of renting from JMH for a year. We spent nearly $18,000 renting from JMH and this is what we got. 1) On signing the lease we had verbal agreement that the apartment would be clean and repainted. Needless to say we moved into a filthy apartment still scattered with belongings of past residence 2) ALLEN FOLKMAN manager of JMH is a decptive prick that will scheme every dollar out of your pocket. 3) JMH staff are unhelpful, uncaring, belittleing and ignorant toward customers. 4) Mataince problems are not tended to in a timely manner and JMH staff treat you as an annoyance simply for begining this matters up, but do not hesitate to charge you twice the reasonable amount. 5) They took HALF of our security deposit for cleaning, after we left the apartment in much better shape they we moved into it. OVERALL AWFULL EXPERIENCE!!! more

If I could give no stars I would. I know Im not crazy when I see this in other reviews but I wouldn't rent from these guys again just so dont have to deal with the errogant rude animals that work as secrataries in the office on Fairmount. They are completly obnoxious. News flash I pay your salary with my rent. Would it kill either one of you to at least talk in a somewhat proffesional manner. Secondly These places are dumps!!! The people who fix them do half ass work and The place was a mess when I moved in. When you talk to them about it they completly deny it and give an attitude. Its a shame this is one of the only places in art museum to rent from because its an awsome area however I would never rent there again just so I dont have to look at the two animals they call secrataries in the office. more

I just recently started a lease with JMH in Fairmount and now i wish to god I had not. The place was in terrible condition and not ready when my lease started and was absolutely filthy. I complained to the JMH and they sent someone out right away who simply did a quick one-two and the place was still pretty dirty. they had clearly not touched the windows which had huge accumulations of dust and cobwebs. I am by no means a neat freak and even i was appalled. People were painting inside on the day i moved in which was a good 4 days after my lease began. I dont find them to be extremely difficult to deal with but i get the sense they will rip you off if you give them the chance and they dont take a lot of pride in the properties they manage. I would avoid them at all costs more

My son rented an apartment which was dirty and had very old appliances and a rusted, broken stove. The bathroom had stained fixtures and the toilet was bad. When he moved out he was charged with what I consider an excessive fee for cleaning even though it was cleaner when he moved out than when he moved in. Clearly, a money-making venture at the end of the lease. more

I just finished renting from JMH for 12 months. They are rude, unprofessional, belittling, and difficult to deal with. Dealing with JMH was a nightmare, no matter what the problem was. The secretaries are nasty and rude and the head realtor is a pompous jerk. Phone calls and emails were not returned, matters were not handled in a professional manner, and they try to charge you for ever little thing. Instead of having a walk through when the lease was up, we were told to drop off keys at the office and then were told our deposit would be mailed to us "by the end of the month." I can only imagine the ridiculous things that JMH will charge us for (they even told us that if we didn't replace some light bulbs, they would have to "hire contractors to come do it at our expense"--are you kidding me?!). I hope JMH goes out of business and no one has the misfortune of renting from them. more

The primary concept for JMH Realty is to buy poorly maintained properties, charge too much for them, and treat their customers like enemies. Right from the beginning they will give you a bad feeling when you realize you cant talk with them about anything. They don't care if they interrupt your day or cause you any problems. As long as they have their money they don't care what they do to you. Probably the worst realty company I've ever dealt with. I would advise you to seek other vendors. more
