It was good. We had dessert and loved it! Service was friendly, a rarity in the area. I'll try the food next time because I am coming back. more

Dessert heaven ... 12/10/2011

So many choices. It was great for the whole family. The desserts are big so be prepared. The ice cream cakes are my favorite. I admit I've left my office midday once or twice to grab a slice of the peanut butter ice cream cake. Yummy! more

If you have a sweet tooth and need your fix, try the Ice Box Cafe. I stopped in to satisfy a craving for chocolate. I had a slice if the bomb, Oprah's favorite. It was excellent as was the service. I recommend stopping by. more

Went for lunch and got the grilled skirt steak which was a large, thin slab of meat on top of potatoes and assorted veges. Sounds great except they overcooked the food; in fact the mass of vegetables it came with had lots of crispy black areas and about a third of them were so burned they were unedible (almost unheard of for me). The sauce and herbs was tasty and it probably would have been good for $14 if it hadn't been boined. Had to try the famous slice of chocolate cake that is famous here, and it was massive, but it was extremely cold and was built like a brick. Maybe a chocoholic would luv the thick, hard block of coco but didn't work for me. Maybe the steak was too complex a dish for the cook so it might be worth trying again and ordering something easy like a sandwich. more

Restroom frustration and hygienic revulsion. We wanted to be able to wash our hands before eating our hamburgers. Although I was able to, the restroom was in a disgusting state. Not only was my wife unable to use the restroom before or during the meal, nor were two other (desperate looking) diners. Two kitchen staff also tried in vain to gain access - one of them using his gloved hand, the same glove that was preparing food in the kitchen. We told our waitress all about our frustration and revulsion. She agreed we had a point but did and said nothing further. The food was mediocre and service slow. If you are brave/foolhardy enough to go to this place, be aware that they put service on the bill at 18%. If you're concerned about hygiene, don't for heaven's sake go. more

Two things to note:\r 1. The food is exceptional, and not just exceptional for SoBe. Each dish that I've tried leaves absolutely nothing to be desired. From the house salad with tomato confit that explodes with each bite to the short rib rigatoni, the meat perfectly seasoned and tender. Simply exceptional.\r \r 2. It comes with the SoBe tax. The entrees hover at around $20 a piece and while the food is good, the prices are a bit high, especially being that the restaurant isn't exactly setting the food industry on fire with its creativity, and the space is nice, but unremarkably glamorous. \r \r All in all, i would not hesitate to return, just on a night when I have a few extra bucks to spend. more

I'm surprised this cute little cafe doesn't have more reviews. It's right off Lincoln, has in/outdoor seating and is very cute. More importantly, the food is tasty! more

The seabass was awesome. This is the first time I have been compelled toweite a review and it is only because my entree was so good. I haven't even had dessert yet which is supposed to be great ad well. I would come back again and again if I lived here more

Great breakfast... But very disappointed with the risotto , tooooo salty , capers +olives +cheese. Have to try flour-less vanilla cake. I love it. more

Save ur calories. Double chocolate fudge cake dissapointing is an understatement. It seems the baker lost his mojo and the staff has follow suit. For a minute I felt like I was smoking and I don't even own a lighter. The inside reeks like a club... Publix has a better cake! more

the dinner was pretty good, but we went there for dessert mainly n the cake tasted old and it tasted like a cake you would make out of a box. it was OK, not as delicious as oprah made it seem. just okay. so if you're in the mood for cake go here..but not for gourmet mouth watering dessert. more

You can find better for the price 12/26/2009

Food was above average but not great. Coffee was a complete rip-off. We asked for three coffees and then changed it to lattes. We were charged for 3 lattes & 3 espressos and they were weak in taste so not sure what we exactly were served. Decor is nice and clean, we ate outside so we were exposed to road traffic as IceBox is off Lincoln Road. Service was nice and timely, however they were only two other tables. Cost was overwhelmingly overpriced for a basic breakfast for three, $75 which prompted me to write this review. You can definitely find better right on Lincoln Road. Pros: Friendly service Cons: Overpriced more

Hit and miss. Somethings great and some awful. Service was horrible and the restaurant was only half-full. 20 minutes for the drink order alone. Will not go back. more

Great 10/24/2009

Love this place! The food was great, and came out pretty fast even though it was packed. The service was a little slow, because the servers were overwhelmed, but it was nice and attentive. Great for breakfast or lunch, it's not the cheapest place, but it's worth it 100%. Will return for sure, try it! Pros: Food more

Food and smoothies were great but didn't like the dessert. A bit expensive for what the food is. more

You can't go wrong with Huevos Rancheros or a Breakast Tostada but if you plan on skimping dessert, get something sweet like the walnut-cream filled french toast or the Dulce-De-Leche pancake.\r \r The service isn't the best because they are so busy you'd easily wait 15-20 minutes but the owner, Robert appreciates any feedback and will accommodate tastes to your liking. Example: Took an out-of-town friend whose "Crabby Eggs" was just too crabby and he took care of it and gave us his favorite dessert: Flour-less chocolate cake that you can kill for. \r \r Ice Box takes an interesting approach as well in this tough economy with take home meals and even home delivery service so you can save some money which reminds people why they are still around after 16 years. more

Not that I'd eat here anyway (too expensive for the quality I can see), but I sat down to plates with dried food on them and glasses with fingerprints, lip gloss, yellow grease, and what looked like a cigarette ash on them. If they don't care about the flatware... what's the kitchen like??? more
