Worst

First, I have to say in answer to the previous reviews, that IMC is not in the customer service industry. They are in collections and they dont' have to be nice. I owe money on me...

Absolutely Horrible!! 9/20/2011

I had to deal with this place about a year ago and was told that i owed on 2 different accounts. One account I know was paid and the other I did agree was mine. I was then asked what i could pay and told them that I could only afford $50 a month. They then told me that I had to pay $200 that day to avoid further collections and my account being transferred to the law department. I told her that I could not pay that and she hung up the phone on me. I received a call the next day only to find the same woman on the other end start screaming and yelling at me once again. I told her that I could only afford a certain amount and again was told it would go to their legal department. A week later I received a letter from an attorneys office that stated I had to be in Small claims court to go before a judge to settle. I tried calling the lawyers office and they were just as rude as IMC. The woman put me on hold without telling me and when she came back on the line she was talking and laughing with someone else in the office. Needless to say this place and the attorney they use are a joke! They are rude, inconsiderate and just down right mean! After all was settled I called to get a copy of my discharge papers showing where i had paid the bill in full and have not received them as of yet. I have called them 4 times in the last few months. more

RUDE RUDE RUDE 1/17/2011

Johanna was polite when she first called until I started asking for account numbers and who the original creditors were and the balances on the several accounts. She said that the information had been sent to me and verified my address, etc. Well, I finally got the information, some of it, 4 days AFTER I had called and asked to talk with the manager. By the way, they never let me talk to Stacy Polly. Everytime I called back they kept transferring me to Johanna. I called the original creditor and told them what had happened. You can't get blood out of a turnip and when you owe over $100,000 there is only so much you can pay. I guess what they want is for you to not eat or have a roof over your head or gas in your car to get to work. And then they would only get a few more dollars. And how come is it that the balance she gave me was never the same, when she finally gave it to me. Well, it won't lay here, I guarantee you that. more

treat everyone like criminals 1/4/2011

I had been on medicaid for pregnancy only and had a procedure done that i was told may or may not be covered. it ended up not being covered (apparently) but i was never sent a bill for it. i was sent a ""do not pay"" statement before it was sent to medicaid but the radiology department never sent me an actual bill. so my bill ended up at imc. when i told imc this they basically told me they didnt believe my story and said they could only accept $400 toward my balance. just so you all know, this is not true! debt collecting companies have to take what u offer them. if they wont accept it over the phone, mail them a check! and if they reject it and then try to take u to court, it will get thrown out bc the judge will see that u tried to pay and they wouldnt take your money! another thing, is the imc wanted me to max out credit cards and even apply for a bank loan to pay them my bill. which really sounds like theyre trying to scare up more business for themselves, get people to pay one debt by occuring another one. sounds fishy. i told them what i could afford and listed many of my monthly bills and told them it wasnt my fault that the radiology department couldnt send me a bill themselves, and that $50 is what they would have accepted per month. it wasnt my fault they took on the radiology dept's bill that should have come to me in the first place from radiology and not from imc. i told them i didnt appreciate them talking to me like i was a criminal and a liar. eventually they came down to my level. if they play hard with you, just play even harder back. know your rights and laws! more

Very rude and unhelpful 11/3/2010

I got a call today from IMC about a few medical bills that apparently had been forgotten. This woman that called ""Debbie"" refused to send me a copy of these bills telling me they had sent them before and if I hadn't gotten them either something was wrong with my mail or someone was taking them and hiding them. She kept saying that obviously I was just trying to delay things by asking for a copy of a bill I wasn't going to pay. I told her I thought I had sent payments out for all medical bills earlier in the year and wanted to check with my bank if they had been covered. She told me to hurry because she'd only hold it for a few days before taking creditor action. When I asked her what she meant she just kind of stuttered and wouldn't say exactly. I did call back when I found out these bills had been missed and I confirmed it with the original place they had come from. I called back to IMC and got Natalie who was very nice and helpful. So not everyone there is out of their mind and completely rude. Just have to find the right person I guess. more

Rude, uninformed and disrespectful 8/20/2010

These people are rude! Not only do I have to deal with the shame of having to file bankruptcy but I have to call and remind ignorant people about it. This lady had the nerve to ask me if I really expect to get services when I did not pay a bill. The bill is from my sick child, so YES I expect to continue to receive services at a different office. I do not deserve to not be able to go to a doctor ever again. What was she thinking. more

IMC = RUDE, UNCOOPERATIVE, UNWILLING 7/28/2010

I offered a payment that I could afford, given my child is still incurring medical costs that I have paying to keep out of collection. I felt they were unnecessarily rude to a me, considering I was trying to pay my debt. They refused my offer of payment, stating that it was not enough considering what I owed. But refused to send me an itemized record of all bills owed, so that I could take that into consideration. In the same conversation, I was threatened with a lawsuit. But yet I could not get an itemized bill or make a payment to them. I felt like my hands were tied behind my back while trying to resolve this issue. Very frustrating to say the least. It was like being backed into a corner with no way out. Now that my account is subject to a claim and will be going before a judge in a couple weeks, they are willing to send me an itemized bill. I supposed because they violated my right before hand? The amount owed is 2500.00 and they offered me ""their best offer"" to avoid going to the actual court hearing which is 400.00 a month. Furthermore, the amount of the attached bills to the claim only add up to 1800.00. They say that there are more bills and they aren't required by law to attach all to the court claim. I thought this odd, even if isn't required. It seems that all related bills should be attached as evidence of bills owed. Surely the judge will require this, so they do have it but are unwilling to show them to me, unless they don't exist and this is a hidden charge of theirs? Cons: unnecessarily rude, non-negotiable, withheld records more

They think we do not know our rights 10/25/2009

received a very rude voice mail. When my husband called back, they were very rude and would not say anything except what he owed. I called back to get more information, they said, well he knows what it is about. When I requested a statement or who the provider was who wanted the money, they said they did not have to provide anything. About three weeks later we received a print out, which would not provide the physicians name. I called back to make payment arrangements. They said they do not have to take payments. They asked if I owned my home, that they could take me to court. They wanted my work number, and said they could take my wages. We do not make a lot of money, and all extra is going to pay the other doctors who made payment arrangements. Like everyone before, were so rude and angry. I requested the supervisor, the first call, said she was. The second call, they gave me a phone number, and a man did speak with me. I asked why my bill from the provider said, I owed one amount and they said I owed over, $150.00 more. HUMM, he could not answer. He also stated that the medical Dr. did not have to bill me; he could simply turn me over to a collection company. I was expected to pay what ever the insurance told me to pay. I am in medical billing and know for a fact, that the doctor?s contract with the insurance companies, for an amount of services performed. The insurance company, in turn pays the doctor, and the doctor bills the patient. We had so many bills from the hospital stay; I thought I had set up payment arrangements with all of the providers. Some how this one fell threw the cracks. I guess they will either take what I can send them or they can take me to court. I am not taking this matter sitting down. I will pay them, but what I can. I am contacting an attorney that specializes in unfair collection practices. I am filing a complaint with the BBB and Angie?s list. I would recommend everyone else do the same. Remember, power in numbers. WE HAVE RIGHTS! THEY THINK WE DON?T KNOW ABOUT THEM, THIS IS WHY THEY ARE SO RUDE and UNWILLING TO BE OF ASSISTANCE. Cons: They think you have not rights! more

A**HOLES 1/9/2009

These people are a**holes in the true sense of the word. I was being cussed at for inquiuring about an account that wasn't sent to my insurance but directly to them. Steve told me if I would of just paid my bill I wouldn't have to worry about anything. How can I pay for something if I just found out it exsisted, D*CK. I called to talk to a supervisor and still recieved no resolution for this matter. These people S*CK, I don't know how they plan to stay into business for long. Not all of us are deadbeats looking for a free ride, some of us nowadays still pay the bills we know about!! Pros: GET OUT OF BUSINESS Cons: TOO MANY TO NAME more

Not the greatest people-skills, but if you know the law they won't bully you! 1/8/2009

First, I have to say in answer to the previous reviews, that IMC is not in the customer service industry. They are in collections and they dont' have to be nice. I owe money on medical bills, they went to IMC for collection. At first I had the same experience as everyone else - they were rude and wouldn't accept my payment arrangements, even going so far as to say that my accounts were old enough that they were going to go to court on them unless paid in full. I told them that was fine, I guess, because then the judge would set up payment arrangements that I could manage (because they DO take in to account your income/expenses although IMC tried to tell me they wouldn't). They said that the judge would deduct 50% of my paycheck weekly to pay off the balance, etc. This didn't sound right so I did some research on fair debt collection and legalities under the Fair Debt Collection Act. I ended up filing a complaint with the FTC because it is unlawful for them to threaten legal action without the intent to do it, and for creditors to lie to you or scare you into making a payment. So brush up on Fair Debt Collection and then call them to set up a payment plan. Explain to them that you will report any inappropriate conversations to the FTC. Let them know that you will be sending in $X per month. They have 2 choices - they can refuse it or they can apply it to your acct. If they apply it, make sure you are paying that minimum every month. If they refuse it, keep the check and any documentation that shows refusal and send a check every month. Keep this money out of your checking account so that if it ever goes to court you can prove that you tried paying the debt. They will most likely get thrown out of court. After I called the FTC I got a new rep who accepted my $50/mo arrangement, and I have had no phone calls since. I also ask for, and get an updated balance on my account (in writing) once in a while so that I can be sure my payments are being applied. Good luck! more

Not satisfied 1/6/2009

These people were very rude when they called me on the phone! The woman i had spoken with would not let me say more than two words and repeated to tell me that i was not telling her the truth when i was! I relize that they are credit collectors but you catch more bees with honey than with vinegar! more

The rudest man I have ever heard of! 11/21/2008

I keep getting a phone call from the rudest man I have ever heard! His name is Mike and he is down right nasty! I will not return a call to someone who is this rude and inconsiderate! I hope that he looks at this review and realizes people really don't like him. Pros: There is none! Cons: This Mike man is RUDE!!!!! more

Very Uncooperative 10/13/2008

Letter came from IMC over the week end for my brother which needs special help and goes to Shares in Hancock co. and is on Medicaid and medicare, well as you will know I did telephone early this morning try talking to them and explaining eveything is paid by Medicaid was almost impossible, the amount was only $ 20.95 A person name Mike .very rude. Never came across such a hateful person. I had to then call Medicare and Indiana Physician Mangament to find what was going on and straighten every thing out. Some how it did not get to Medicaid, for payment.everything did turn out,but IMC needs help in manners. Pros: Thumbs down Cons: RUDE more

Hounding...Bad business practices 8/11/2008

Rather than just sending a clear statement of what is owed I have been getting hounded both at home and at work over god knows what. Person calling is downright uncaring and rude. Pros: Absolutely none Cons: Horrible business practices more

Harassing, Dishonest and Uncooperative People 6/30/2008

My wife was harassed daily by Zach at IMC Credit over some small medical collections. Also, following that experience she found out IMC Credit added the word ""bankruptcy"" to the comment section that showed up on that account in her credit report. She has never filed for bankruptcy. She went through considerable efforts to get that removed from her credit reports. Cons: Rude people more

Friendly, informative, helpful for the most part. 6/20/2008

I had an outstanding balance since 2001 that I didn't even remember, but saw it on my credit report. I wanted to get it taken care of all in one shot, no payments. That could be why they were so easy to work with. They had all my info right there as soon as I called as if they were expecting my call, I was never put on hold, and the lady I spoke with seemed very helpful. But as I said before, I had no requests except to pay in full, so I can't honestly say how it would have been had I wanted to work out a payment plan like the other two reviewers had wanted. Pros: VERY quick, informed with my info, polite, and answered all my questions patiently. Cons: Wouldn't/Couldn't send me a bill for some reason??? more

Unethical Business 6/10/2008

After much harassment from this company I asked for a complete copy of what I owed and what had been paid. I was flat out refused. I wanted to make sure the oldest bills were getting paid first. After much argument I was told they could not guarantee that the oldest bills were being paid first. I asked to speak with the manager and was told she were not there. I asked to speak with her boss and was told they could not let me do that or give me the manager?s name! Nikki Williams is who I have to deal with. She is rude & degrading. She told me I deserved the way she treated me for getting myself into this mess!!! Now I am done talking to them. I did not even bother telling her my child was in the hospital for a whole YEAR!!! Or that we have been through 2 open heart surgery with our 5 year old. Enough said. Cons: Unethical Practices more

Horrible Degrading Customer Service 5/8/2008

I just want to let everyone know that this is a horrible place of business. I called to get payment arrangements set up with them for an account of mine that was referred there. Obviously if I could pay in full I would, but I can't. So, I get on the phone with this guy and ask to get some arrangements set up. The amount he states is too high for me to pay a month, so I tell him that. He then proceeds to tell me that he won't make a commitment for me to pay $20 or $30 dollars a month because I probably won't even pay that and just goes on and on basically bullying and degrading me about this situation that he knows nothing about in the first place. I thought these people were supposed to help you and help you resolve these types of things, not harass and degrade you. This was the worst customer service experience of my entire life and I would never want anyone to go through this. They need to teach their representatives how to be respectful and courteous to their clients. HORRIBLE! Cons: Harrassing and degrading. more
