I have trust issues when it comes to my hair, and Victor completely placated my fears. For over a year I have been looking for someone since I came out to LA, and Victor actually listened to what I wanted. Natural looking color, good suggestions and so kind! Great cut and color! 7/14/2006

I just moved to the area and was afraid of having someone new do my unruly curly hair. After reading all his city search reviews, I decided to give Victor a chance. Best decision ever. I got a full highlight and cut and it turned out wonderful! The color is perfect and the cut is beautiful. It's hard to find someone good with curly hair and Victor is it. He's also fun and great to talk to, he puts you completely at ease. Highly recommended! more

A Big Rescue 7/12/2006

I recently had bad perm, cut and coloring experience and came to Victor with dull-looking hair. I was afraid and wished that my last hope can turn things around. Based on his over a hundred great review, I indeed made a great choice this time. Victor is top-notch in terms of his technique and everything else. He listened with lot of patient, explained things very well. It really shows that he wants to offer me the best possible fix. The result was extremely satisfactory: my ""red"" hair tuned down, my hair bounced with great layers and my length was just perfect. In addition to all these, I have also enjoyed the conversation with him greatly. I felt very relieved after this fantastic hair experience. Pros: Just a great overall experience more

The real deal 7/4/2006

Victor is the real deal - a true professional who takes his job very seriously. The focus is on the client and all aspects of the client's hair's condition - Victor considers everything along with the ""basics"" (though hardly approached as ""basic"") of cut and color, but also maintenance, lifestyle, texture, product, and grow-out. What you don't get here is the feeling the place employs prestige-pricing and hoping the service matches. And as someone who generally doesn't care so much about chit-chatting my way through a hair appointment, I found Victor's company to be really enjoyable. I'm thrilled to've found him! Victor is a genius. I am new to town and was looking for a place to get in on short notice. Not only did Victor accommodate me, but he did a wonderful job with my hair. I would highly recommend Victor for anyone looking for someone they can trust completely to do a fantastic job with their hair. more

Amazing Victor 6/11/2006

Thank god for city search since it was the way I found Victor. He is truly amazing. I have never stepped out of a salon in love with my own hair. He put the perfect amount of highlights and color. On top of the color he cut my bangs just perfectly!!!!!!! He really cares about making your hair healthy, not just look good. He is a honest and wonderful person and I highly recommend him. Victor was amazing and he did an amazing job on my hair. He made my naturally brown hair look naturally blonde without using any bleach at all. My hair has never looked so good and it has never felt so healthy. The entire experiance was great as my hair turned out great and Victor was a blast to talk to! I highly recomend him! I went to victor hugo not having any style in mind, just that i wanted to donate a foot of my hair for locks of love and victor gave me a great style with subtle highlights. I was very impressed with his knowledge of hair and his experience. He is definitely professional and easy to talk to and gives you a cut that compiments your features. I would definitely recommend victor hugo and would go back. the price was reasonable as well......thank you victor for such a stylish cut! Pros: great atmosphere, friendly Cons: nothing more

I actually found Victor Hugo by searching the citysearch database for a new stylist. Slightly nervous to leave my current stylist of three years, but eager to escape his sky rocketing prices and busy schedule. From the initial phone consultation, Victor's recommendations, till the time I left his chair the day of my first appointment I was relieved and elated to have found such a genuine and gifted stylist. He has brilliant insight on your plans for your look as well as accurate suggestions to alter and exceed personal expectations. Flexible with my ever-changing mind, Victor helped me come to a conclusion that I felt confident about. I encourage those reading this review to call him and set up a consultation as well as research him - highly renowned artist and stylist. Amazing Hair and Great Service! 4/27/2006

Oh how many compliments I've gotten on my hair so far and it hasn't even been 24 hours! Victor is amazing and oh-so talented. I definitely recommend going to see Victor because he does a great job at making your hair look healthy, shiny and sexy. He gives you his full undivided attention and actually listens to you. no more brassy hair!!! 4/23/2006

i had gotten my hair highlighted by my usual stylist... but she left my hair brassy and red... i looked like a hot mess!! victor saw me for a consultation, and scheduled me in the earliest he could. he was extremely patient when he was explaining to me what he could do, and how he could make my hair how i wanted it to look, while making sure it wasn't going to fall out from over-processing. he gave great advice, and even better service :) highly recommended!! more

I am from Philadelphia and found Victor Hugo here on City Search. He got such great reviews, I made an appointment and he fit me in right away! I was so pleased because I did not have time to get a cut before my trip and was looking for someone great.. and I found him! I have long, thin blond hair and he advised me on color and gave me a fantastic cut and amazing blow dry in less than an hour for only 70 bucks!! I walked out looking great. I was very happy and love my cut, his advise was great. Next time I am in town , I am booking a cut and a color with Victor! I highly reccommend Victor! Pros: great cut, flexibility, good value more

After reading all the reviews here, I figured it was a safe-bet to have Victor cut my hair and I was not mistaken. First off, I was extremely late to my appointment due to traffic. While some may have been angry or rude because of this, he was very accomodating and pleasant. He gave me some good advice regarding what kind of haircut that would best suit me because I didn't have a concrete idea of what I wanted. He gave me a great haircut and gave me helpful pointers on different ways I could wear my new style. All in all, a great experience with Victor. Highly Recommended! Pros: Talented, Friendly more

I went to Victor after reading all his other reviews, and I was not surprised at all to find a warm, caring guy who knows a lot about hair. After a week went by thatg I got my hair done, (I was a bleach-a-rexic) he gave my hair its life back, with a cute sassy cut, and great light blonde, honey high-lites that I love. Wow! 3/20/2006

Victor is incredible. What else is there to say - he gave me my first ever color job (highlights) and my first actual hair STYLE - (lots of soft layers) I am in awe of my hair - his creation. I went in there and sat down in his chair basically not having a clue as to what I wanted or needed done - Victor took matters into his own hands and created a masterpiece out of a basic blank canvis. He's the first stylist who hasnt tried to chop off all of my long hair - he's educated about the science behind quality products and why they're good for your hair. Talented, personable, and reasonably priced 3/11/2006

After reading the positive reviews on this site, I called Victor to set up an appointment. He was incredibly friendly and accommodating in working with me to find a time that would fit my hectic schedule and, at the appointment, in listening to what I wanted while offering the benefit of his expertise in making suggestions. I got a first class, full head of highlights/lowlights, and a sophisticated, layered cut for under $200, and in under 2 hours, but without feeling at all hurried. It was the best value, and most pleasant haircutting experience I've had in LA. I definitely plan to use Victor as my hair stylist in the future. Talented, but more importantly TRUSTED! 2/27/2006

I started going to Victor after about 2 years of flying back to the midwest to visit my previous stylist of 5 years. I was so nervous and was very concerned about building a relationship with a person (I had tried one other person in LA at a very reputable salon and felt as if I was only a paycheck- & a small one at that). I not only love what Victor has done with my hair color, but I trust his judgement and know that he is truly concerned with me looking fabulous and feeling confident! In a city of talented stylists, it is refreshing to find someone who is equally qualified but also treats each person, famous or not, with respect and concern. more

Excellent cut, wonderful service! 12/31/2005

I was visiting my family in LA from Chicago, and went to Victor for a cut during my vacation. Both of my sisters and mother go to him very regularly, and always rave about their color and cut. It had been a while since I cut my long hair, and he did a beautiful job of cleaning it up, adding nice layers, but still keeping my (beloved) length. I recommend him 200%!! On top of his talent (he's by far the most skilled hairstylist I've been to) he is an extremely lovely individual, engaging and caring. Someone you look forward to very much seeing!! Definitely give him a call, no matter what type of cut or color you need - he can do it! I have seen that in the wide range of cuts he has given my family. Very Pleased 12/8/2005

My coworker had her hair cut by Victor and raved about how good he was with cutting hair. I have curly hair and its always been hard trying to find someone that will not only do a good job, but actually listen to the way i want my hair cut. I couldnt have been more pleased with my experience with Victor. As soon as i sat in his chair, he knew the type of problems that i can encounter with my type of hair. We talked for about 10-15 minutes on different cutting options, with no feeling of pressure that he was trying to hurry, cut my hair, and go on to the next client. Im definitely pleased with the haircut, and im looking forward to seeing him for my next appointment. Were going for the Paul Walker FNF cut. Thanks Victor. Loved my haircut!! 11/16/2005

After my first visit, I will definitely be back!! I haven't found a hair stylist that has ever cut my curly hair exactly the way I wanted it. I asked Victor to keep my length, but to give my hair some body and he did exactly what we talked about. He even kept in mind that curly hair shrinks, so he made sure not to overcut. When my hair dried, it was the perfect length! During the whole cut, he made sure to talk me through everything he was doing with my hair. I finally feel that I can trust someone with my hair needs!
