Victor and I met through unhappy circumstances. Another stylist had turned my hair grayish green! Not only that, but it was brand new hair about six months old from chemotherapy treatments. I went in wearing my wig and Victor made me feel extremely comfortable right away. He then went to work correcting the color like the true professional he is. Today my hair color is absolutely beautiful. Not only did he restore my color -he restored my confidence. I whole heartedly recommend Victor for all your beauty needs. more

This by far is the best hair cut I have ever had. When you are a guy and you get your hair cut, you pretty much can only wear it one way. But not with Victor. He made it passable for me to have it conservative when needed and edgy when wanted. Pros: The level of the hair cut. Victor is amazing. My hair has never looked so healthy nor so ""now"" ...I feel so good when I am asked (frequently) who colored/styled my hair. From the minute you walk in Victor gives you personal attention, you are not passed off to anyone.... You leave your appointment feeling like you not only have had an amazing hair experience ...but feel as good as if you have just had a wonderful massage...relaxed and refreshed. I moved to LA in 2001 and have been a loyal follower of Victor's ever since. He's wildly talented with color. His cuts are elegant and timeless. I've had a hard time finding someone to cut my hair and address my concerns. I came across Victor Hugo Hair through citysearch and was convinced to make an appointment after reading so many excellent reviews. My experience was very similar to those described in citysearch: it was fantastic. My hair was a mess. I walked into Victor's salon with a bad hair cut and color. My hair was also extremely dry. I was concerned about adding color to my overprocessed hair and having to resort to cutting the length to improve its condition. I was truly amazed to see how Victor transformed my hair without risking its lenght. I was even more shocked to see how the color correction had improved the look and feel of my hair. Victor is very talented. He is very confident in what he does and his confidence helped me be at ease. I felt very comfortable but more importantly I felt very hopeful that my hair was going to look better. Victor also enlightened me with his knowledge in hair care and provided some really good tips. I have put his advice into practice and my hair's condition and look has been so much better. I will definitely be seeking his services again. more

Victor did an awesome job. In 15 seconds of assessing my sitch'ation, he determined exactly what style of hair I had and what he would need to do to give me the best look. I was truly impressed. He also was extremely accommodating -- he came in a half hour early just to see me. I highly recommend this salon. Victor is really good at highlighting! The way he did my color was totally different what I ever had. Very interesting experience. I just like it, like the color a lot. What's also nice is that he is punctual. So you don't have wait at all. Highly recommend! more

victor is fantastic! i went to him for help after i dyed my highlighted hair dark brown. he performed an absolute miracle and returned it back to a delightful, flattering blonde in 2 hours with zero damage. honestly, my hair has felt much healthier since he colored it than it did prior to the service. he also gave me what i think is the best haircut i've ever had - it looks great and it's incredibly easy to deal with. it's been two weeks and the cut and color still look wonderful and i've received tons of compliments. he's also really knowledgeable about hair and explains everything he is doing - which was great for me because i was slightly terrified about how my hair would turn out. Pros: super talented, reasonably priced, inexpensive valet parking available. Cons: none! more

Victor was a delight. This was my first cut and color with him and he did a flawless job touching up my highlights. He also gave me a great trim while my layers grow out. I am naturally shy when meeting new people, but Victor made me feel comfortable without overwhelming me with trivial, getting-to-know-you questions. Thank you! After seeing all the great reviews for Victor Hugo, I decided to give him a call and was totally surprised that he was so decently priced! It was a little hard to get a hold of him by phone, but that's because he takes his time with his clients, so that was fine by me. And, he always called me back anyway. During my appointment, I told him everything that bothered me about my hair--for example, how it's too thin in some areas--and he gave me a very informative rundown of EVERYTHING I needed to know about haircare and hair growth. He is so knowledgeable about his field, and he completely alleviated me of everything I had been stressing about concerning my hair. Not only are you paying for a great stylist, but also for an incredible hair care expert as well! He's a genius! And it doesn't hurt that he's fun to talk to. more

I just moved to LA and did a lot of researched to find a new stylist. I found Victor through many rave reviews from previous clients. They were right in recommending him! Victor is so talented and couldn't be nicer! He listened to exactly what I wanted my hair cut to look like and styled my hair beautifully. I am very low maintenance when it comes to hair (I have stick straight no fuss hair) and most stylists try and do crazy things with it. But Victor could see precisely what I wanted and agreed with me! He is the best and I couldn't write any more to tell you that you absolutely must go see him! I made an appointment with Victor based on the recommendation of a friend who had a positive experience with him. I asked for a deep conditioning treatment, color, and a cut. Victor was very kind and courteous, and even took the time to notify me via phone that he was running a little late with a client, which was fine by me since I wasn't in a hurry and I saw how much time and care he took with his client (which also translated to my own experience!). more

i just moved back to LA and i was in desparate need of a hair colorist and stylist. i decided to give citysearch a try. after reading the rave reviews for victor, i figured he was worth a visit. i don't usually write reviews, but my haircut and color were so amazing, i figured this is the least i could do for him. i usually get very good haircuts and color from my previous salons, but they never push the envelop in giving me a new ""style""; just the same old cut with alittle variation. victor, on the hand, is a true sylist and innovator. he's got a great eye and he knows what will look good on you, but at the same, he will listen and make sure that the style will suit your personality and profession. it also helps that his prices are well below average for his quality of work. victor is fabulous, and i will definitely become a regular. For the last 2 years, I've been flying up up north to get my hair (base color, highlights, cut) done. Trying to make it in the entertainment business in L.A. is tough enough, so I wasn't about to take any chances with my hair in the hands of another hairdresser I didn't even know. However, costs were getting ridiculous, so as a last resort, I searched up ""colorist in L.A."" on citysearch and found Victor. I was definitely not disappointed with the results. Victor was very attentive (I am very conservative) to my needs. Every action he did with my hair, he told me exactly what it was that he was doing so I wouldn't freak out. The conditioner he mixed up smelled soo good, making me almost not want to leave the salon. hehehe! He made me feel really comfortable and as a result of his works, my hair is all the more softer (I had major dryness and split ends going on), and much more manageable. Further, the price was very reasonably and definitely worth it. I highly recommend Victor and have already reserved a date for my second appointment! more

I went to Victor because of the reviews on CitySearch, and I was a bit disappointed. He's an excellent conversation partner, but the actual haircut, highlight, and style wasn't worth $200. He missed my roots when highlighting. It looked like I got my hair done 2 months ago. And the cut wasn't worth it. Okay, I have been dying my naturally strawberry blondish hair a darker red for 10 years, and I am sick of it.I had a baby last year and got tired of going to Umberto every month for 200 bucks for a cut and decent color.I did my own roots for awhile but even that additional hour of my day spent scraping dye off the shower curtain seems too precious to spend now that wee one is walking.My regular colorist kept going too red.All I want is my natural color back so I can move on. My hair had kind of a dull color and the ends were very damaged, and Victor solved both those problems. At first I thought the color was a big change, but now I reallllly love it, and the cut was just what I was looking for since I wanted to keep my length.
