Very Reliable 10/20/2010

The shade workshop I've been working with for a long time recently closed so I was a little hesitant to try a new place, but Horizon came well recommended from friends, and I'd seen some of their work done first hand before paying the showroom a visit, which was all encouraging. Finally going to see them and inquire about a small, but detailed order of custom drapes and valances I was quickly relieved of any doubts. They knew what I needed, provided me with good choices and delivered on time with no problems. more

Everyone at Horizon is so sweet! I had a great experience ordering with them and see why they were recommended by everyone at my building. Very nice samples on display at the showroom too. They priced out different options for me and we found something that fit my budget nicely and looks great at home! more

I haven't been to many other window treatment shops, but this one was fantastic! Eric and everyone that helped us along the way did a great job and knew a lot about the products and installation for our building. We're very happy with the automated shades and sheer curtains we ordered It 's a tricky process remodeling, so I'm glad I found Horizon for this project. Wonderful service! more

My mother is a great interior designer, so when she came to visit she took me around to a few shops she found to help redecorate and make my apartment look nicer. Horizon was one of the best showrooms we stopped at. They primarily do window treatments, but really had a nice interior display set up. The sales guys were good, and actually funny, too. Not too pushy, they just showed us the different options and samples. They sent someone over to measure my windows the very next day and I had them installed in a few weeks. Don't be cheap, go for the alustra duettes, they look amazing! more

HORRIBLE!!!!!Buyer beware!!!! 7/27/2010

I ordered seven windows of remote controlled shades from Horizon a while back at an average est. cost between $2000 and $3000 per shade. Specs called for hard wired motors. Horizon delivered less expensive and very noisy motors with large black plugs that could not be hidden. I refused delivery. Horizon's salesman called and promised he would correct the mistake. His fix was to install electrical outlets inside the walls to hide the large black wires/plugs which is against NYC electrical code. They brought in an electrician from out of state to do this installation. Pros: None Cons: Poor quality materials and workmanship more

No-show time waster 7/21/2010

I can't comment on their work, as they never showed up. My wife visited the 50th St. store and we decided we were interested. So we both went down to the 24th St. store on a Sunday to sign up and make arrangements. We got there at scheduled opening time but the lady (Gigi) was 20 minutes late in opening up. (No explanation or apology should have clued us in.) We scheduled a 9 am Wednesday appointment with her at our apartment for measurements and design suggestions. We waited until 10 am but she didn't show up or call. (I normally leave for work at 8 am, so she wasted 2 hours of my time.) When I called the Horizon office, they couldn't contact her and had no record of her appointment schedule. I can't deal with people whom I cannot trust. Pros: Who knows? Cons: No show more

Wouldn't Use Horizon Again 6/12/2010

The sales person did what sales people do I guess: try to get me to spend more money. In this case, he suggested that I get these ratcheting pulls that always stay the same length. It was a good suggestion and I ordered them (and am happy with them), but he never mentioned that it was adding $60 to each window. It didn't even show up on the bill like that. I only found out because I had received another estimate from them 6 months earlier and I asked why this new one was so much more. Then he explained that the pulls cost extra. Pros: Salesman and installers showed up on time Cons: Everything Else more

My old, out-dated venetian blinds were beginning to get to me, so I decided it was time to get some new window treatments. I had seen Horizon's name in various places throughout the city and their showroom was pretty close to my apartment, so I checked them out. I'm very happy I did because I was very satisfied with the work they did. It was difficult to make a final decision because of the amount of options I had, but we finally figured out what the best treatments would be and placed the order. My shades arrived and were installed in a timely manner and I have had no issues with them since. Pros: a lot of options, efficient service more

I work in real estate and I had the idea for one of my clients to install motorized shades in their condo to help add value and get it sold faster. My client and I went to Horizon as they had been recommended to me by a colleague. The whole experience from start to finish went very smoothly and there were no big problems at all. i really can't describe in words how great of an experience I had working with Horizon for my new curtains, but i'll try. the selection is fantastic, I had so many great fabric and texture options it was hard to pick just one that I liked the most. i have dealt with other window treatment companies in the past and horizon gave me the best results by far. more

Best place for window treatments in New York 2/8/2010

Horizon helped me a great deal with choosing window treatments for my apartment. The process was very easy and laidback. When we were trying to figure out what type of treatment I should go with, I never once felt like I was being pressured by a salesperson to go for the most expensive option. I felt that Horizon genuinely cared about what was best for my apartment as opposed to just trying to sell me the most expensive product they could.
